The Apple Store employees at this particular location have seen me and comforted me at my worst; rushing in at 8 pm on a weekday with hair that hadn't been washed in a week, fervently working on twelve page papers on Milton and scared that I would never write again after spilling tea on my keyboard...almost in tears when my harddrive failed and I thought I lost my final Canadian history paper due the next morning (they managed to recover it, yay)... These lovely folk assist me with all of my first world problems! Over the summer, I went in to drop off my laptop for a couple minor repairs before taking off on a wilderness survival course, because I wouldn't need it for a week anyways. After inquiring about my trip and making a couple jokes about Bear Grilis, the two gentlemen helping me took a look at my laptop. Initially, I just wanted to fix a crack on the side, where the little charger hooks in. However, upon inspecting and making sure I still had a warranty, they decided to do over $1000 worth of repairs; things I didn't even know were necessary, and that also enhanced the aesthetics of my computer and made it look new again. The cost of all of these repairs? Totally free due to Apple Care, but it's awesome these guys took the time to do it. Whenever I show up in a panic, someone is always there to greet me and handle the situation appropriately, which is more than I can say for the Chinook location, where no one has even looked at me anytime I've gone, and the one time I brought in my laptop (which has three years of Apple Care), the un-genius at the genius bar told me that I didn't have Apple Care and scared me until I just went to the Market Mall one and they reassured me. I was impressed with the customer service here. I spilled a latte on my computer and went in to see what my options were. The man helping me was very nice, but the thing I appreciated the most was that he was not pushy at all. I'm still debating getting a new one or getting my old one fixed, but I was able to walk in and talk to someone about my choices and left without spending anything. I recommend avoiding this Apple Store. We went with a frayed USB iPhone cable to see if they would replace this. A concierge said we'd have to wait an hour and 20 minutes to talk with a technician who could determine if we were eligible for a free replacement. The issue was straightforward, and insisting on a technical analysis of a frayed cable seemed ridiculous. At other Apple stores, I have had similarly frayed cables replaced without argument in 5 minutes. So the problem is with this store's policy. read more

The people who initially were helping my Aunt buy an iPad were really friendly and helpful. However the tech guy that they sent over after we had purchased it was condescending and utterly unhelpful. We didn't really know a lot about Apple products so we were hoping that he would show us the basics, but he seemed to really have difficulty with our questions. We asked him how to change the language to Chinese for her and his instructions were so condescending (ex. "Now what button do you think you push?"). It was really a bad experience, especially after spending almost $700, and we will not be shopping there again. read more

I went in with my computer (which is seriously a lemon). We discovered that last year, when the logic board was supposed to be replaced at the Chinook Apple Store that work wasn't actually done. I live way out of town and can't drive into the city often so the computer mostly acted as a paper-weight on my desk at work. I finally got it in to figure out my warranty expired only days ago and that the problem would be solved by replacing the logic board (that was supposed to be replaced last year but for some reason never actually got replaced even though I was told it did - they had this in their notes from a year ago). They honored my warranty fix and kept me as a happy customer. So happy that we ended up buying a computer for my husband before we left. Everyone there is so friendly, and I love that they did the right thing to correct the Chinook Apple Store's mistake. read more

Apple Store is such an awesome place to go to I always love going to the Apple Store there staff are helpful and knowledgeable about the products they sell. Apple has awesome products very good quality for your money and yes I know that sometimes there are the ones that are duds but that will always happen even with android and windows and I feel sorry for the people that get those dud devices but that's just how things are. read more

Good service, except the Business advisors need to get their act together. They can not answer a lot of questions regarding business accounts, so really they are just apple employees with Business Account shirts. Always the best selection of current products. Best quality cases for all their products. I have had issues with previous Mac products and they solve them very fast. Very good consumer confidence when at the Apple store. read more

We walked over to another table to check out the iPads and the store manager came over and walked us rough all our questions. We then went and stood in the very long line to pay. Staff was very friendly, however I was having an issue where they informed me that they might have to erase and replace my phone, because of where I live doing I cloud backup isn't an easy option so I had advised that if that was the only choice to please refrain from doing that. They erased it and have cost me a lot of money as my notes contained vital information about clients I have to bill so I don't get paid for 2 weeks now a cost of over 2200$ all they offered to do was comp me which they didn't and I paid for the re pair :( read more

The service needs to be better. My wife was 4 minutes late for her appointment at the Genius bar and was told that she had to wait until a new appointment opened up - about an hour. Last night we went to an appointment. We were on time but had to wait 20 minutes until someone had some time. Someone did show up but was so time restricted that we got passed off to sales staff before the problem we had come to deal with was solved (it is still a problem). The sales staff were good but not really qualified to deal with the particular problem we were having. We are not high demand customers but service is a problem at this store. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. After a week of not using my laptop, I opened it to see the screen was broken. I brought it in to Apple Chinook and they kept it to run diagnostics... all pretty standard stuff. They called two days later and let me know that the screen was broken and the battery also needed to be replaced. They quoted me around $700 for the two repairs. I told them I would call back the next day to let them know if I was going to go ahead with the repairs. When I called back to give them the go ahead they asked if I was aware of the new issue that needs fixing... I said no... they then proceed to tell me that my logic board is also broken and my new total would be $1200... I asked how this new issue was discovered and they said they "decided" to run diagnostics again. I told them it all seemed too suspicious and that I would not be going ahead with the repairs. I took my laptop to another place the next day and sure enough, logic board was perfectly fine AND they only charged me $500 to replace the screen and battery. Absolutely horrible experience with apple as a company as well as the gentlemen (Tony) who was extremely rude throughout the entire process. Don't waste your time and money with this place, trust me. read more

I was there for the iPhone 4 launch and I have to say it was pretty poorly managed. There was a huge line and although they gave us a few freebies (like apples and water), the line was moving excruciatingly slowly as the carriers activation systems were down. Although that was not their fault and I can't blame them, what they completely blew is the fact that a good portion of the line (including me) wanted an unlocked phone without activation and they made us wait for hours when all we wanted to do is buy it and get out. I ended up having to wait over 8 hours (!) to get inside so they could process a transaction that took about 2 minutes. It boggles the mind how they wouldn't setup some sort of reservation system or give people tickets so they wouldn't have to stand around waiting all day like cattle to buy a phone. When the next iPhone comes out, buy it online. Trust me, even if you have to wait a few weeks it is better than this crap. P.S. The employees were still friendly and enthusiastic though. read more

Of course it is going to be busy because it is Apple, but I do not like having to look for 20 minutes to find a credit card machine and to ask three people if they are part of sales. Their genius's provide good service however I don't like having to book it all online- like when my computer wasn't working that was kind of a problem :) I got sent to call centre in Idaho when trying to contact Apple at Market Mall. I have been an avid Apple user for many years and have sworn by the Market Mall store since it opened in 2008. Recently I have noticed a MASS decline in Customer Service with this store. They refuse to fix issues with your products, even with Applecare and they are extremely rude to the clientele coming in. This place has gone down hill so fast that I am starting to look at purchasing anything BUT APPLE! My iPhone has Applecare on it for another 3 months but after attending today they stated that they would not honor it due to a small hairline crack in the left corner of the casing! Excuse me? I believe you would also have to be fixing the screen if that was there as I paid for APPLECARE, or shall we call it cash grabbing CRAPCARE? Save yourself the headaches and but an Android. Horrible service at the Apple Store in Marketmall. I wanted to buy a new iPhone 6s+. After approaching one of the many red shirts with no customers, I was ushered to wait to talk to one who was busy with 3 other customers. He was attempting to have us all pay in assembly line fashion. I had questions, but he had no time to answer. Just give me your credit card and get out. I got out alright, but without a new phone. I expected just a little bit of service and a smile for spending $1,500. I refuse to. Spend my cash where they treat you so terribly. read more

First of all, I would like to say I understand that Apple is a huge industry and that people have problems all the time, therefore I am not surprised this store is busy. HOWEVER, I HATE that you need to make appointments all the time to see people for help! Clearly this place is staffed to the ceiling and if somebody goes out of their way to get to the mall and see you for a problem, and then you say no and try to book them for 6 hours later or even the next day... IT'S RIDICULOUS! As a university student, my laptop completely failed one day in the middle of writing a paper. I went to the store all frantic because I thought I had lost everything. They booked me in a day later (after the paper was due), because this was the earliest they could fit me in. I even tried to talk to an apple person online and the problem could not be fixed (not his fault, the computer had some extremely random problem while updating). Mind you, when I came in the next day the problem got fixed (awesome!), and the staff always seems respectful and knowledgeable. However, you should always make time for the customers. I find it ridiculous to have to make an 'appointment' when I am having a problem with their product. Maybe they should even consider having a store that is entirely for PROBLEMS, and not for sales as it is really frustrating when you see people going around asking people if they need help, then (if they are not considering buying a product) saying they cannot give them help unless they make an appointment! You don't see them asking people to make appointments to buy things! Arg! read more

Apple store, love it and hate it,, great products, worst customer service. You have to wander around to find someone to pay, get bounced from person to person until you find someone who isn't a manager, product specialist or untrained helper who can actually take your money. Why cant they simply have a cash line where you line up to pay. Today the one fellow whom everyone was directed to had an unorganized group of about 10 waiting to pay to pick up products. I was told he was the only one available to take my dough. After complaining to an employee who had a payment device on his belt that he could if he wanted to, take my payment, a "Manager" came by and promptly took my payment despite there were others in the "group" (aka and unorganized line) who were there before. What a smozle. They really need to stop being pretentious like "were so cool that we don't have a cash line we just morph into payment takers when we need to" and be a bit organized. Every one waiting in the" payment area" had the same sentiments. Going forward I think I'll just order for free delivery. read more

March 15,2016 all day my Iphone 5 was in my locker at work for good 7hours 100% battery when I check my phone end of the day it was dead nothing coming up on screen looks off I try to turn it on doesn't work I plugged in to charge only apple sign start coming up and red line that dead battery sign so I leaved it plugged for good 30 min but same thing showing up on the screen any way I unplugged and gone home. and again plugged it in when I reach home try to charge it but something different thing showing up on screen usb cable sign and on off apple sign so any way I unplugged it after an hour and left it till next day to take it to the apple store to see what's going on, waited in apple store at the market mall for 50 min for appt. Finally this guys show up and check the phone told us to wait for the Tech and then after 15min this tech person showed up check the phone and took the phone back side to check bring it back after 10 min and told us its not fixable its very old (3 years old) phone and the pin inside is twisted because putting the charger wrong way that is micro pin they cannot fix it my boyfriend and I check it with the light and magnify glass that we got it from him and yes that was the case and we agreed but suddenly my boyfriend check his iPhone and the pin was the same and I check my ipad and the pin was in the same direction and he told the tech look at this but he doesn't want to talk to us any more I was so pissed and then he send us a sale guy on training I guess but because he doesn't even know what he was doing just to waste our time he start filling this form online to recycle my phone without my permission and filling the thing that never happened liquid damage battery busted broken screen I ask my boyfriend what he is doing oh I was so frustrated I told him thanks for your help but I want my phone back I am not going to recycle it and nothing happened to this it was in my locker all day but he start showing me to buy another phone that I told him I can check the same website at home and choose the phone anyway I left the store with so much anger and frustration. Any way my bf open the phone with the help of YouTube check the battery everything was fine and then he restore the software meanwhile I order new phone from Rogers but my phone was fixed Wow!!! Surprise Surprise !!!! so now a days people that works in apple store maybe they are good teach but for their self for us they are liars and they no they techniques how to play the games and sell our products. I took my iPhone in for a screen replacement. I was told it would be no problem to fix as there was no water damage/damage to the actual phone. After waiting one hour, I came back and they now told me they found signs of water damage and couldn't fix it. Their solution was to get me to buy a brand new phone for $300 more. It was clear that they were lying and trying to scam customers into purchasing a new phone. There was no way my iPhone had water damage and also I had taped the screen of my phone to keep it together and when I got it back, it seemed to be untouched. How were they able to open the phone and see that there was water damage without removing the tape? Very disappointed with Apple service and will make sure I spread the word and never go back. read more

I wanted to buy a computer for my homeschooled kid. The Apple Store at Market Mall would not give me the student discount because I could not produce a "certificate" that I was the homeschool teacher. We had her registration as a student in the "Center for Learning @ Home", our school board. I think the name says it all. And they insisted it was only for post secondary students. Its not - the website at Apple Canada lets you click "K - 12". I went down the street and Future Shop was willing to give the deal. Apple Canada gave the deal with only a verbal explanation that my child was homeschooled and said the parents obviously qualified under Apple's own criteria as "homeschool teachers" and could get the Education discount. I spoke to a "manager" about this but she did not seem to care that she was not only about to lose a sale but also create a dissatisfied Apple customer. This is not the first time this particular store has frustrated me and I'm sure it doesn't represent Apple's corporate ethic and philosophy. I will not purchase anything from this store again. Avoid this store at all costs. My mom who is over 70 was treated horribly by the staff and had to wait over 4 hours to get a new Ipad. She simply broke her old one, went into the store and wanted a new one. She had an appointment, the "Genius" person was late. When she picked out the basic model she had to backup her old model to the "cloud". Now no offense, but when i am with someone over 60 and technology is involved, i should assume they dont know what they are doing. While backing up the Ipad, it kept timing out because there was no typing being done on the device. No one told her how to avoid this. In fact, she was passed on to associate after associate over the course of 4 1/2 hours. One even had the balls to say "Go home and do this then come back". If she cant do it in the store with associates around, what makes you think she can do it at home? I am livid with this place, the staff really think their @#$# doesn't stink.
