I am very saddened to have to write this. I have been going to this place on and off for years, mostly because the price was expensive I was venturing out to other places. On Monday I decided to splurge and go get a pedicure. BIG MISTAKE. I don't even know the name of the person who I had. She dug so deep into the skin beside my big toe on my left foot she made me BLEED. Then proceeded to spray alcohol into it thinking she was getting rid of the blood but then of course what happens when alcohol enters a cut but searing pain. Fast forward 2 days its now Wed morning. I get up to leave and i noticed despite having my Nike's on it hurts to walk. When I get home I take my sock off and notice that it is all crusted over and nasty. I sterilized a safety pin (I am in nursing school so I have an endless array of alcohol swabs and saline flushes) and poked it and a stream of puss came out. I was utterly disgusted. After about 15 minutes of painful cleaning I decided to go back and request a refund. When I walked in, I didnt see the person who did my nails but only one person was in the salon and I quietly said to the person who approached me that I was already here this week and I wanted a refund because my toe is infected. She told me "Its not infected its just an ingrown nail and we dont do refunds. Pick a color and we will do a pedicure" I quietly told her again I don't want another pedicure I want my money back. She said go pick a color. By this point all the attendants were staring at me. Someone else came up and told me to pick a color and I said louder this time to make sure everyone could hear me: " I do not want a pedicure. I want you to give me my money back and I want you to clean your tools properly." Needless to say I left without a refund and slammed their door. I will NEVER be returning here. I got my nails done at 6 pm yesterday and both my toes and my nails have chipped. My pointer nail broke. The lady that did my nails was extremely rough and cut my ring finger around my cuticle. I went here with 2 other friends. 1 was getting a fill and my friend and I were getting new sets. They charged my friend with a fill the same amount as we payed to get new sets. When I left not person said thank you or goodbye. I will not be returning to this place. read more

OMG! Does anybody know how to wax the face? This is just another crappy salon that doesn't! The first time I went she didn't do a bad job and they charged me $30. The second time I went it took her at least 45 minutes and she actually let me leave the salon with a cloth in my hair and they charged me $18. The third time she burned my face in 2 different spots and got a glob of wax IN MY HAIR and charged me $15. I guess the cost depends of the quality of the job they do? The pluses: Most do a good job. It's very clean and they have a great selection of polishes which are always up to date and fresh. The negatives: always busy and they rush your pedicure to get to the next person. Massages are very brief and aren't very good which sucks because that's one of the best parts of a pedicure. The worst part is the up sale. They try to get you to purchase every extra thing under the sun. And when you say no thank you they get a look on their face like their irritated and then start talking in their language to the coworker next to them, clearly about you saying no to everything. SOOOO RUDE. I use to go here all the time but I got tired of feeling like cattle. I've left several times feeling like I could have done a better job myself. read more

Overdue review. My aunt and I were going to the hot springs the next day. We stopped here in the afternoon to get our nails done. The ladies were nice and great. We just felt rushed, but we understood why. Our manicures and pedicures looked great. Not even two days, my manicure was chipped. I did not hand wash dishes or do any kind of hand intensive work. My pedicure, however, lasted two weeks without a chip or looking grown out. 2 for the manicure 5 for the pedicure. Edit: The lady who did my pedicure picked out the perfect purple for me without any hint from me of what kind of shade of purple I would have liked. read more

She does an incredible job of perfectly polishing your nails and no one can shape my nails the way she can! The color selection is great. I still recommend Apple Nails. I've been going there for about 5 years now, I go routinely every two weeks. The product quality is excellent. Kim is the greatest. There are times when it's hard for me to choose a color for my nails and she does it for me. I a'm always pleased with her choice. I get compliments on my nails everywhere I go. Horrible just horrible. I come in last minute way before closing to come in for a pedicure. I call before i go and they tell me the price was $20 that included a callus removal. So I go and I sit in my "spa" chair and she starts setting up her little station. I usually don't go to other nail salons other than my main one in Garden Grove but living in Cypress, i wouldn't have made it to their salon. So here I am trying to "enjoy and relax" but I'm telling the lady what I want and need and as she's cutting my toe nails actually throughout the entire time of her working on me, she kept shaking her head like she was disgusted or something in that sort. Yes I don't have the best feet but that's what nail salons are for.. to make u feel better than u did when u first walked in, right? Anyway, I just felt so uncomfortable and I felt really bad for myself.. I get the package that had callus removal and this older lady barely even scrubbed my heels because she was in disgust if whatever mood she was in. And shes suppose to include a hot oil massage of 5 minutes and she just used basic lotion while all the other American ladies had oil rubbed on them as they were getting their massages. Lastly, i tell her what color i wanted and it was white and she says "oh white no good white easy to get dirty"... umm excuse me? I'm sorry I'm going with a color that's gna match my outfit for my sisters wedding! I was fed up and over my time there and mind u, it was my FIRST AND DEFINITELY my last time coming to this location. Sorry not sorry. Customer service should always be #1 no matter what you feel! So I'm paying and she asked "charge $25" and i already knew what she was trying to say without saying it.. i said "just charge 28" but Because I have a caring heart, I still tipped her. It doesn't matter how much she was tipped but she was lucky enough to get extra out of me for doing such a poor job. Older lady, thank you for making my first time at your salon, so bad. I will never go back there ever again and neither should you.!!! I have not wrote a negative comment about a company before, but today I must warn all MEN about this Nail Spa and its management. On 9-20-2014 at approx. 1:30pm, two days before my 10th year wedding anniversary. I planed to meet my wife at the nail spa to relax a minute, get my nails trimmed and hers polished, 5 hours before we were to get on a plane for our trip to Cancun. I arrived shortly before my wife, as I entered I spoke to the same lady who's always at the front desk. I told her, it will be spa chairs for two, I am waiting for my wife to arrive with our kids. As I was sitting in the lobby area waiting for my wife to arrive, I was approached by two Cypress Police Officers, I was told to come outside to speak with them. Before moving, I asked for what reason, The Officer said the Nail Spa manager called them as they had an unknown man sitting in there business. I was upset and so embarrassed to be escorted outside by the Police. After answering a few questions the officers determined that I was a legitimate businessman just waiting on my wife and coincidentally I knew a few of their fellow officers from high school. I demanded to speak to the person who called them out, wasting their (our) time not to mention our Tax dollars. They had no concrete way of determining who actually called, so we spoke to the lady at the front desk, who was the person I spoke to as I arrived. First of all she only wanted to speak to the Filipino officer in Filipino (Tagalog), Of coarse she played like she did not know anything about who called, but she added maybe someone was scared because I was a man in a nail shop. Completely Sexiest..... However that's not the end to this story.. As my wife arrived with our kids I explained to them what just occurred. I was ready to leave and never return, but my wife calmed me down she had an appointment and wanted to keep it, as this would be her only opportunity to get her nails done before departing on our trip. So I took my kids next door for a quick meal. As I was waiting outside to be served, I saw the same two officers pull up, return to the nail spa and question another man who was seated outside on the bench between the gym and the Nail Spa. I immediately went over to the officers and asked was it the same issue that just occurred with me. He shook his head yes and said this man is just waiting for his wife and daughter who are inside of the Spa right now getting their nails done. So to the Apple Nail Spa Owner and Manager, I ask you why? Why are you afraid of Men being in or around your spa? And even more importantly I ask why should we ever patronize your Spa again if this is the kind of mistreatment we are going to receive. As for me, I already have and will continue to informed anyone who would listen of what occurred that day. My attorney advised against any legal action as I was inside their store (the right to refuse service). I also have advised everyone in my company, kid's school, Church, Gym, Writing association, Rotary Club and the BBB, to beware of this Nail Spa and there mistreatment of paying customers.......... . read more

I rarely make an appointment since my schedule is so unpredictable and find that when I "walk in" I usually don't have to wait long to get service. I got a mani pedi after reading the reviews on yelp and it's so close to my work so I called and they said I could come in right then and there. I went on my lunch break. I had two girls to work on me and got the usual french on the hands and regular paint job on the toes. I was hoping they would throw in a design, but that didn't happen so kinda sad. The place was ok clean, but not immaculate. I saw a bunch of random nail clippings on the floor around me so someone needs to sweep a bit. And I didn't see someone changing out the pumice stones, or putting the tools in blue stuff, so who know how often they clean those. But I'm not really a germaphobe so eh.. I didn't really care that much. The girl who did my manicure was nice and gentle and almost cut my cuticle but luckily she stopped suddenly when I gave a yelp and there was no blood, so she was saved from my wrath! j/k Whatever I'm so tame. So just for that I would go here over the other places that actually cut me and gave me pain. The pedicure was fine and they didn't try and overly upsell me on other junk so it was pleasant. They did talk about me a bit, and it was only complimentary I think because they were in awe of my strong fingernails which they kept telling me was very lucky and nice, etc. So that was nice. I usually feel like they are talkin so much crap about me I get self conscious. The price came out to $29 with the french manicure and spa pedicure so I would say not bad. The only downfall was no design thrown in, I'm sure they'd do it if I paid but I wasn't feeling like spending anymore than I had to. read more

I've gone here for awhile and as long as you buy extra services, they do a halfway decent job. Today I just got a standard pedicure and got the worst service. The technician had an attitude the whole time, got pissed off that I kept telling her to cut my nails shorter (as if they're her feet), put oil on one foot and not the other, and barely buffed my heels. This is the first time I didn't get the callous remover and apparently this was her punishment for it. And if she wanted my leg or foot moved, she didn't politely ask. She yanked my foot to whatever position she wanted it. This woman was RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. If I could give lower than one star, I would. Not a smart move ladies. You forget there are tons of other nail salons nearby. I'm sure they'll be glad to get my business, especially since I tip very well. Today is the first time I ever gave a small tip. Over all, they did a great job on my mani and pedi. I took my fiance with me and I forced him into a pedi because even guys deserve to have nice feet. The thing about this experience was that I could tell they were laughing and talking crap because he was getting a pedicure. I have been to Apple Nails, Cypress several times. I notices the owner (Helen) overbooked appointments and takes walk-in customers therefore, regular customers have to wait 45 minutes. It is not easy to get an appointment on Friday or Saturday. I was not very happy to wait 45 minutes. Otherwise, the nail salon is very clean. read more

The pedicurist was in such a hurry as soon as she saw 2 Caucasian clients step into the nail salon. She ruined 2 of my toe nails, had to redo it, and was so upset and acted like it was my fault. I have wanted to come back on here and update my review that I left a few months ago regarding Apple Nails & Spa. Let me start by saying that the Manager's son saw my review and contacted me on her behalf offering me a gift certificate to give them another shot. I was flattered and by this time had already been back several times to give them another shot and was pleasantly pleased by the friendly service that I have received since I came back. They have since gotten all new (wonderful I might add) spa chairs and their service has definitely improved for the better! On my third return trip I noticed that the Manager (Helen) was in so I went up to her and told her who I was and she was extremely nice and apologetic for my bouts of bad service that I experienced. I told her that this was probably the third time that I had been back since my review and was pleasantly surprised how everything seemed to have changed for the better. Upon leaving the Salon she gave me a gift Certificate and thanked me for letting them know what had transpired. I have since been back several times and Helen always comes and chats with me and so do a lot of the girls in the salon. I definitely recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a good mani/pedi!! read more

I was in the area and tried out this nail shop for the first time. I went in without an appointment. They took me right away. They had lots of nail colors and designs to choose from. I needed a fill and pedicure. The lady doing my pedicure kept digging and digging at the sides of my toes. It was painful and she seemed to understand when I asked her to stop but she continued. Three bleeding toes later and me yelling at her she finally stopped. The lady that did my gel fill did fine until it was time to shape my nails. She couldn't seem to get them all the same shape. I have a mixture of coffin, square and oval shaped nails. Bummer. By this time I just wanted out of there. But what was most disappointing was to see the tools used on my foot rinsed under water at the same sink the customers use and then taken over to a new customer station for use. I have her do both my full set and pedicure. My boyfriend also loves getting pedicures by Heidi she's also really good and so nice! i have been here a handful of times...so far i havent been disappointed--at least in the nail department. The staff is very friendly and the wait isnt that long. they have a good color selection and i dont feel like they are rushing! they have very comfy chairs and a good nail polish selection. As for the wax, i got a bikini wax for the first time from them because i didnt feel like driving to my normal place in newport beach and let me say i thought it was going great until we were done and she started putting all kinda stuff (lotions, what seemed like alcohol, and powder) it was buring like crazy and i ended up having a rash from it for a good 4 days! thankfully my irritated skin had time to heal before my vacation because lord knows it looked terrible, i may return for a wax at a later date but if i do and if you do-- tell them to limit what they put on your skin after the wax is complete! read more
