Getting an appointment for the Genius Bar will be a wiser option as you can walk in at the required time or will be stuck in long lines that will give you a feeler of waiting to watch Star Wars in the cinemas, beating the huge lines. The staff here are all apples from the same basket - sweet and knowledge-wealthy and nothing rotten. They give you your time and are well equipped to answer any tech question you throw at them. They have great choice of selections on all their brand's gadgets. The only sour point I recently had was with a refurbished iPad that I picked which was given in a bag and not in a box or with a charging cable. Stopped by this Apple Store to ask for help with switching from full payment to payment plan for a purchase I have. The short interaction I had with a bigger tall curly hair brown hair lady with glasses was extremely unpleasant and rude. The interaction didn't have to be so unpleasant even if she was not able to complete the request. Part of the reason why people use apple products is for the service. The last 2 Apple stores had become difficult to get help or even buy iPhone quickly even with all the employees standing around. 2 stars is for my bf who also needed help and got decent help. read more

Hello...I am a french businessperson and i came to this apple store to fix my laptop for a very important meeting...I went in to fix my screen and a guy ran some diagnostics, everything was working besides what I knew was broken...however, after a few days a lady called me back and said the traction pad is showing failure in the diagnostic test and to fix it would be an extra $100...now My pad doesn't even work..I'm not sure if they were just trying to make $100 more in profit or what but i'm extremely upset! If, at all possible, take your business elsewhere! They should have a sign out front, "Walk-ins Not Welcome". I arrived at 1pm on a Sunday. After being greeted by the young girl at the entrance, she asked me my name and I was instructed to go and stand by the 'Fitness' sign along the wall, and someone will assist you from there. I asked her about how long is the wait, because it kind of looked like a Disney line in there and she said 15-20 minutes........ ok....... Not too bad. After all, my iPhone 8 is cracked and out dated with a battery that needed replacing......l so I was looking to upgrade. After 15-20 minutes..... I had looked over their new phone selections and had a pretty good idea what I needed....... Now I have to wait for an employee, holding an iPad, or tablet, to come to me and call my name....... No such luck......... we watched people come and go..... I flagged one young man down and told him, at that point, I had been waiting about an hour. He said he was waiting on a customer and that when he was finished with them, he would help me. Half hour later, he still wasn't available, nobody else came around asking my name or looking to assist me, so, I waved to my wife and son and said "Let's go! we are out of here." I love the fact that this store, the employees are so organized. There are usually two greeters who will immediately greet you and ask you how they can help you. Once you tell them what you're looking for they will set you up with a sales associate. You never are left just wandering around and waiting for someone to notice you like the one in Freehold Raceway Mall in NJ. The sales associates here all truly know their Apple products and they're patient and excellent at answering all your questions. Today Austin was our sales associate. He helped us pick the phones up as we had pre-ordered them and he helped me pick a case and popsocket that works for my phone perfectly. He also told us they can give us a tutorial on any tips, problems or questions we may encounter after we use it. That's free by the way. No hassle, no drama. There were so many employees in pickup area and in entrance, without helping anyone .. if not for service , this store is awesome . In the best of times going to the Apple store means practically being elbow to elbow with other customers and Apple employees. During a pandemic, that simply cannot be allowed to happen and so during a phone repair visit I got to experience what an Apple store is like during the scourge known as Covid. The most important part about this visit was making an appointment ahead of time. In front of the store is a series of partitions keeping customers in categories (you have an appointment, you're waiting for pick up etc.). You'll get in much faster if you have a designated time versus just walking in hoping for a slot. This is true even in non-pandemic times, but doubly so now. Once I was in, the experience was great. Everyone was socially distanced with some assistance by employees. Each large table was only allowed to have two sets of customers and the waiting area had all the chairs carefully spaced apart. At each table there was a kit with anti-bacterial gel and wipes. All employees wore masks and socially distanced. This particular visit was to fix a cracked screen. After some initial analysis and polite conversation, I was told to give them 45 minutes and almost on the dot I returned and the phone was ready, new screen and all! The entire time all the employees were super nice and worked fast. I had a great experience at this location and I definitely recommend it for your Apple needs. read more

This Apple location just started to open up the week of 6/20 while only operating curbside. Luckily enough I was able to snag up an appointment online to come in for a repair on my phone. The day of the appointment someone from the Genius Bar called me with directions on how to arrive safely and where to park which made everything easier. I pulled up and filled out some paperwork and off my phone went to get fixed. $30 and about an hour later my phone was looking brand spanking new. Never buy anything from this store. I've been trying to reach out to the store to get a copy of an invoice for purchase i made. I've been trying for the past two days.Nobody picks up the phone at the store. Even their general customer service representatives try reaching out, and still no response. EXCELLENT attention, caring and service at this Menlo Mall Park NJ location from both Mary on the floor and the Manager here, Trig. I purchased a keyboard for an I-Pad for my wife's Birthday however she had to go overseas on a family emergency and did not use it until after their "expired" time to return.....she used it once and did not care for it and wanted the better version of this keyboard. So all I wanted to do was return it for their more expensive version and it was NO PROBLEM at this Menlo Mall location. Easy exchange and upgraded purchase thanks to Trig! Hello, My name is Brendon and i am a Disabled Military Veteran who was discriminated against for being a Veteran and LGBTQ member by the employee helping me in the store along with Managers Sam and Rick who were extremely hateful and unprofessional to say the least from the moment i walked in to the moment i left, they didn't even care to hear my side when i asked for a manager, they just automatically sided with teenage worker and just were very mean/aggressive when they came over, I didn't feel safe or comfortable. When i asked for a manager Sam came up said nothing/didn't introduce herself just started slinging insults after i had to ask if she was the manager after a long awkward pause. Now i have Apple Care and contacted apple to setup an appointment and took screenshots of damage and sent it to corporate apple who told me it was a $30 back repair then setup my 5pm apt which i missed due to whether and therefore ended up being a walk in, my mistake! When i showed up the employee said that to start that they did back repairs but kept forcing me to do full phone repair even though he and me could tell the phone was working it was just cosmetic . Then he tried to act later as if the whole phone needs to be replaced though nothing was wrong with it except cosmetic look. He ran test and said the face recognition doesn't work so i showed him facial recognition and FaceTime do work and even asked to see a manager to prove it with phone he got upset gave me a dirty look and stormed off. He obviously didn't pass that message along or honestly the manager probably didn't care. Like i said she didn't care to check it when she came over and didn't even introduce herself just awkwardly stood next to me saying nothing until I introduced myself and told her i asked for a manager. Then she just started yelling that they dont do back repair only full repairs which contradicts her own employees statements and corporate told me when i set up apt. Btw she didn't even care if the FaceTime worked or wanted to check it I felt bullied and like i was being conned to say the least. She like her worker were rude, offensive, dismissive, and abusive showing no level of mutual respect and professionalism keep in mind at that point i was polite and said nothing bad until the end when i said I'm done and walked out the store so their behavior was uncalled for and extremely prejudice as a Hispanic LGBTQ DISABLED veteran i truly felt the hate and discrimination like no other time or place in my life in past, and I've been to war lol. I started to have a panic/anxiety attack from my PTSD and they laughed managers included. In the end I could bare no more so i said im done and will call corporate because nothing they were doing made sense they contradicted themselves and corporate and could care less so i walked out letting people know the hate/abuse i felt as i walked out, they said you can't complain in store over their actions or how i feel i was treated so they said i had to leave/cant return keep in mind i had already left and didn't reenter store so they just didn't want people to know which i told them freedom of speech, they said i dont have that right of freedom of speech and I reminded them I fought for that right for all ‍. I don't usually call corporate or complain but their behavior was this-gusting. I left the store a little angry because i was outnumbered and they were very abusive, their was no calm or logical discussion to be had they weren't interested. so i walked out of my own accord after saying ill be contacting corporate and said to all as i left that they discriminate against LGBTQ and disabled Veterans which they didn't like me saying when i left but i wont stay quiet in the face of bully's/abusers who dont want to be held accountable. I am calling for a boycott of this apple store specifically by the LGBTQ community/Hispanics and disabled Veterans of this country because no one should ever be treated like this/bullied and we should always care/respect each other basic human treatment. Other customers told me when i Left that they had faced same abuses and that you can't control peoples hate so to not let it bother me which comforted me to know I wasn't the only one yet still it not right regardless. I may forgive them one day but i want others to know so they can go to best buy or another apple store.‍ your life matters and never let people make you feel hated just because of who you are, race, religion, sexual orientation, disabled, of veterans. I would provide managers ID or last name or even the name/ID number of the worker but the Manager Rick said they can't provide that even though i said it was for the Better Business Bureau and corporate complaint. I had the misfortune of shattering my iPad screen and needed a replacement stat. Online, the next appointment date was 1 week away. I called in to ask what the wait time was. They gave me a one hour wait time. When I got there, a staff member took my contact info to text when they will be ready. 40 minutes later I received a text stating that they were ready for me. They had me wait on some bean bag/stools in the store. A staff member came over, asked if my iPad was backed up and if I knew my Apple ID. An hour later, I was walking out with my brand new iPad, with everything fully restored. Staff members were very kind and efficient. The whole encounter took about 20 minutes or so, with my actual wait time being somewhere around 40 minutes. As a heads up, the store located on the Nordstrom side of the mall. read more

-- I came in on Friday 9/27/19 at around 8:45pm and I was assigned to get assistance by a Apple store rep named Teresa (a black woman in her late 30's early 40's). I was purchasing the latest iphone 11. 1-Teresa walked up to me with the most unfriendly look, she had a very combative attitude and didn't even say hello or introduced her self. 2-First words out of her mouth were "what do you want". I told her I wanted to buy the iphone 11 and wanted to know the price and features and she looked at me and pointed to the phone and said "You can read it all on the phone" and pointed to the display phone. I told her I wanted a person to tell me about it. She looked at me with a nasty attitude pointed at my face and said "You're gonna have to wait" and walked away never to be seek again. 3- A couple who was next to us said that they have dealt with that same rep Teresa in their last visit last year and she was just as rude, unfriendly and nasty to them too. 4- After Teresa walked away l went back to the young man who sets the in-store appointment with the reps. I explained to him what had happened and I asked him to please let me speak to the store manager (Brian Capa). After waiting for 10 min a friendly and courteous young man (John K.) came to assist me. I told him about the rep incident with rep Teresa and he apologized. After he answered all my questions I asked John K. to please give me the name of the regional manager and he said "I can't give out their information". I went there last week to buy a new phone. The day before going in, I read some reviews to see if their customers service are goods or not and many people was complaining that it was bad. I can't tell the same thing! I made an appointment because I was scared to go in and nobody will help me. When I arrived, I waited 15 min before someone come assisted me. the person who helped was young man really nice and patient and helpful! He really helped till the end! Yet there's a lot of people and not enough customers service to help but what I recommend is to make an appointment the day before or 2 days before going in because if you make an appointment, you'll be help first and won't have to wait on the line like other people who just walk in. When I arrived after waiting in line behind the velvet rope, the bouncer told me I didn't have an appointment, and I wouldn't be able to purchase anything without one and the next available appointment was after Christmas. They said if I bought the item online it would take at least two hours to be processed and ready to be picked up. Untrained employee wiped all my photos, contacts, and notes without ensuring I had a back up to restore. She did not ask if I had an itunes back up or tell me that I would have no photos or contacts on the new phone. I have had 3 Iphones in my life and have never had to do an icloud backup to get all my info to the next phone. They changed the system in the 3 years since I got a new phone and did not feel the need to tell me. Apple used to do the back up into store to the new phone or tell you to do an itunes back up or ANYTHING to save your stuff. This employee knew I did not have ICloud back up and just assumed I wanted a blank new phone? Like I didn't want my 200 contacts or 850 photos? I later spoke with the manager who was insanely arrogant considering his employee messed up and I lost precious photos from my brother's wedding and from vacations, and texts from a friend who recently passed away. Almost 3 weeks in and I was back and forth with Apple trying to see what the status was since it showed online it was still in repair. In order to reach the store, you need a rep from Apple to call the store. They told me not to go in person either during COVID, that you need an appointment and that would take a week or so. Today, Apple corporate was finally able to speak to the store and they told the rep that my watch has been at their store for days and lied that they called me and sent me emails. BULLSH*T! I bit the bullet and made a appointment for 1 pm in Menlo Park and was greeted promptly, checked in, gave the tech my poor battered phone and on my way to lunch with a promise of completion by 2:40pm. 2:42 on the dot my rejuvenated I Phone 7 arrived and a charge of $149.00 + tax. Ok so I will be the 1st to tell you that before the store moved to near the Cheesecake Factory/Nordstrom - I never came to this store because it was so packed and unwelcoming. Vibe wise. Normally I go to short hills. I ended up having to come to the Menlo location because there were no time slots to bring in my computer for repair at ShortHills location. I find out - they moved the store - to the 1st floor- next to Cheesecake Factory. thank God it's bigger and the design feels more open yet simple. Anyway I made an appointment for the Genius Bar via online. This was actually my 1st Genius Bar visit. since getting my iMac in 2011 - my computer keep shutting down/off for no reason. Anyway- I received such great service. I had Michael- to help try to troubleshoot things in the store. He was very friendly and informative. He ended up having to "check my computer in" for further diagnostic repair. The next day- Andrew called me , kept me updated and informed my of my problem which was good news . I authorized the repair and By the third day, I got my computer back. I am a happy camper. I hope if I ever have issues in the future that I get competent friendly techs like I had with this experience read more

First time to the new location and have to say it was very positive. I did make an appointment prior to coming to the store. Upon entry they had enough staff checking in so it moved fast. Then you take a seat on blocks in front of the large Apple screen. Pleasant area to wait. The person I was assigned to was able to handle a computer software issue, keyboard problem and my phone. That is why it is important to make an appointment they explained. Also my wait of 10 minutes was due to me waiting for a phone and computer Specialust. Bought a mini iPad with Retina display online at the Apple site and by the time I clicked the purchase button, the option to pick up at my local Apple store had winked out and the next closest shop was Long Island or at the Edison location. Since I still have PTSD from my last forays out to the island, we were Jersey bound. The store is crazy busy, like everyone in Edison has nothing to do but hang out there. The greeter at the door pointed me to the back area where pre-paids were being handed out. We got the iPad quickly but had to wait a bit for set up. Service was uneven- the first set up gal was trying to help multiple people and got me started and then fobbed me off to a less clued in girl. Worst Apple Store ever! 3:30 on a Thursday there are 10 customers and 50 employees. There was a three hour wait to help me with a passcode OR the next available appt was the following MONDAY! The manager with the hipster beard had no explanation as to why I couldn't be helped. They refused to help me and continued to set me up with a 1800 number.
