Rudest Staff. I've never been to a bad Apple Store. This is the worst one I've ever been to!!!

Always stressful coming to the Apple Store. I hate the whole process of having to check-in, wait for a "genius"... etc. I've had bad experiences at the Apple Store in Wayne, NJ that is closest to my house. So I decided to give Menlo Park a try since it's close to my office. This store is most easily accessible if you park close to Nordstrom. It's basically right outside of the Nordstrom store. I went to purchase the latest iPhone on a Friday after work. The first "genius" that came to help me decided it was worth trying to help another customer while I signed into my Verizon account. When I was ready, she was too deep into helping another couple that she couldn't stop to go back to me. I suppose that sale would have been larger and more worthwhile to her than just getting me my iPhone. The second person who came to help me, Gino, was super nice and helpful! I simply wanted to get my phone and go home to set it up instead of wasting time in the store. Gino was extremely professional and nice, and definitely changed my perspective on the Apple Store as a whole. He made the process very easy and quick. read more

I had an appointment to have my phone looked at due to the battery constantly loosing its charge. I went today and was told it was def the battery and it would need to be switched out. I was told it would take an hour and to please return. I returned an hour later to find out no work had been done because I had water damage? Some sticker inside the phone was red. I have never dropped this phone in water so I can't really answer why the sticker would be red. My phone has no issues except the crappy battery and yet they said because of that red mark they could do nothing for me but I could get a replacement phone for $299. Convenient for them but not for me. I don't need a new phone, I just need a new battery! I of course was like "couldn't you have told me this before you made me waste an hour waiting for the repair?" They had no reply to that question. I think it's rude to make you go away to only return to find out nothing was done for you. I think it's ruder that they also didn't seem too concerned about wasting an hour of my day. I have never liked iPhone but am forced to have it for work. This service today has re-enforced that the moment I can get rid of this phone I absolutely will. They really need to check the work to be done and confirm it can be completed before they ask a customer to leave and come back. read more

My Iphone XS 64 GB space grey all sudden is having multiple vertical green lines on the screen. It works fine functionally, so I took it to the apple store. They told me that I have a liquid damage. I checked online that this iphone can stay in water up to 30 minutes. My phone might get wet by rain drizzles maximum 10 minutes, but it never stayed 30 minutes longer in water. I do not understand why iphone warranty pis made for!! Iphones and their services are getting worse each day. read more

This store gets crowded at times, especially on the weekends! Just like the other Apple Stores, they all have their laptops, Ipads, iPhones, Ipods and Ipod Touches on display for you to try out. It's always fun trying them all out. The staff people here are really nice, and they were knowledgeable when I had questions regarding my 4th generation Ipod Touch. If you're an Apple fan, then you might like this place. read more

I went in to get my AirPods repaired because one pod would not charge and I was still under warranty. The technician and I went through a couple steps before trying a new case, but it needed to charge for an hour and he let me go home instead of waiting. I scheduled a call for later that night. I left my air pods with him and doubled checked to make sure that was right. He told me yea your good. I received a call when I got home and it was from apple support outside of the store so they asked me if the air pods were working and I told them they had them, not me. Which caused some confusion. But I scheduled another appointment to finish up the repair and get my pods back. When I arrived for the next time appointment they told me they weren't sure exactly where mine were without going through all of the hundreds of air pods they have in the back and that it was unusual for them to hold onto them like that. So after a little wait the manager Rick came back and hooked me up with a new pair of second generation wireless charging AirPods! I was ecstatic! He wanted to make sure my overall experience was top notch and I am so happy with his decision! This is one of the many reasons I choose Apple! I came to get my phone repaired, my screen was cracked, and my camera wasn't functioning properly. Turns out something went wrong and they had to give me a whole new phone. That's fine, but they gave me my phone as if it was brand new, and I had to restore my phone to the latest back up when I got home. Quakerbridge mall's Apple store made sure my phone was restored back to my latest backup before I left their store. read more

Literally the WORST Apple Store I have ever been to. Came here the other day without an appointment at 1:30pm on a Wednesday. I called prior to tell them my phone was not working or turning on and I needed to be seen ASAP because I had to travel later in the day. They said come in and they would squeeze me in since I didn't have a phone that worked. I come in and am greeted by three very nice ladies (at least the front of the store has their act together) and then was directed to sign in with a short man with camo pants. I walk up and explain I previously talked to someone on the phone and he looks at me and goes "an hour and forty five minutes." Stunned, I told him again I did not have a working phone and I had to travel later in the day. He looks at me with a stern face, possibly on a power trip, and tells me "one hour and forty five minutes." I then tell him I literally can't do that and ask him to look up an appointment in SoHo since I had to be in the city by 5. He tells me if I want to do that I can use their computers to do it. If he couldn't help me he should've called over some other staff member to do so instead of pointing me to a computer to do it myself. The level of customer service here is unacceptable. I travel a lot and have been to many apple locations, this one is by far the worst. Staff here needs to be retrained and an attitude adjustment would be in order for the little man in camo. read more

While most Apple Stores are so shiny, bright, and beautiful, the one in the Menlo Park is the total opposite. When I went last week on Tuesday night for a 7:30 PM appointment, it was a complete zoo. It literally felt like Zombieland in there. I got there about 10 minutes prior to my appointment, and I was trying to check in with a specialist, but no one was available! Finally at 7:30 I went up to someone who was running around and she told me who I could check in with. I was then advised to sit at the genius bar for my appointment. I sat there for half an hour until I was finally helped. Meanwhile, I heard another specialist tell someone that the genius bar closes at 8 PM. I started to freak out a little bit. Something that bothered me was that they book multiple appointments at the same time and do NOT keep track of who was waiting there first. Someone who came more than 15 minutes after me got helped before me. Finally, when it came to fixing my Mac, I was told that it needed to be shipped out for repair and would be back in 3-5 days. This was a complete shock to me, as I was expecting a quick repair to my keyboard, but I was told that the work that needed to be done was equivalent to replacing a car engine. The point is that the guy helping me had no customer service skills at all. He proceeded to tell me that it is worst at Best Buy where I would've been without a computer for 12 days instead. read more

Couldn't have asked for better service from Chance when I came in today to see if they could fix my son's phone. Problem was the SIM card, and probably could have just been referred back to our carrier. Chance figured out the issue & we left with a working phone. Great service all around! read more

Always busy this place. you need to get a scheduled appointment to speed things up whenever u go here. It saves u time too. I got my iphone 4 swapped here because of battery leak. I had a week left of my warranty. Good thing they replaced it no questions asked. The guys there are pretty cool. While u wait, u can just walk around and BS and go on line and do whatever u want in their computer. One of the nicest apple store. One of the busiest too. But the decor is very clean and organized. What can I say...it's Apple! It took me a while to switch back from PC to Mac. So god that I did. Picked up the AirPods recently after having BeatsX. The AirPods are incredible. I walked in the day of the most recent launch, and two Apple Professionals were there to greet me, regardless of all of the "hoopla" going on in the background. The knowledgeable staff alleviated any concerns I had about the AirPods fit and use with Siri. I was so glad that I stopped in when I did. Also, they let me trade in two older iPhones (5S & 7). Got $275. I was expecting much less! Thank you Apple team - Menlo Park, for always standing by your products and providing great customer care. read more

Had made an appointment to have the battery on my 3yr old iPhone 6s replaced. They replaced it, but later after I left I find that my Touch ID isn't working, altho the Home button is. They then replace my screen free of charge, but when that doesn't work, they tell me they have to replace my phone, which freaked me out! I've babied my phone which I've had since day 1 with no dents or drops and I thought I was getting an unknown Refurbished one given the age of my phone, but no, they gave me a brand new iPhone 6s! Granted I'm upgrading this coming fall to a 2019 model, but appreciate the new upgrade in the meantime! The staff was excellent, even the ones that didn't service me from the time I was there and what I witnessed. They were all kind and never a hint of impatience or sighing when they couldn't solve the issue and they even expedited the screen repair to try and get me going on my long trip back home from being at the hospital near by all day! The new phone held me up a few more minutes, but things happen outside of our control, breath, be kind and you'll see that karma be reciprocated! read more

The store is great just like any other modern Apple store. However if you're going to double or triple wait times please tell your customers about it....don't make them wait for 3.5 hours on a weekday night when you told them max 1-1.5hr wait. Had i known i would not have wasted my time there and would've come when i had 3.5 hours to spare. If i had known it before hand i would not be as upset-but since i was told one thing i just felt like i was lied to...but having waited till the entire mall closed and being the last customer just for a battery change is ridiculous. read more

I was nervous going into the store at first because I'm a pc person and know nothing about Apple's products. The store was crowded but Karen made time for me and my husband and answered all of our questions (and we had a lot!) very thoroughly and patiently, and she didn't push us to buy anything. It was a great experience! Now we feel at home in the store and very familiar with some of Apple's products, and we will definitely be back! Update: I am now the proud owner of a brand-spankin'-new iMac, courtesy of this store! The purchase was easy and quick and the technicians helped me set my new baby up in the store, so all I had to do when I got home was plug it in. Couldn't have gotten any easier. I also signed up for a year's worth of lessons to get more familiar with my Mac. Another update: My husband and I went back to the store to purchase an iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Gino helped us out and he was friendly, professional and helpful from the word Go. Love this place! read more

A-OK, because they serve an important function. But the actual experience in the store is always stressful. And that's because at any given time of the day, this place is a complete and utter madhouse. Despite the army of nerdy blue shirts greeting you, iPads in hand, breathlessly working to part you from your money, things still move more slowly than you'd expect for this many people working a shift. My Genius Bar appointment to replace my Macbook Air battery was scheduled for 12:30pm. I arrived a couple of minutes early despite knowing that the Genius Bar operates like a doctor's office. There's no such thing as early or even "on time." 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment I am finally moved to the Genius Bar, only to wait another 10 minutes for a technician to see me. Despite the fact that I know exactly what's wrong, the technician insists on running a whole battery of tests on the machine before finally concluding what I told him all along: the battery needs to be replaced. I'm then told they'll need two hours to replace it. Really? Two hours? Gah!! Luckily I had other shopping to do, and off I went. The silver lining came an hour later when I received an e-mail that my Macbook was ready for pickup. And so off I trotted back to the Genius Bar, only to have to sign back in and.... yep, you know it: wait some more. 15 minutes later someone finally comes out with my Macbook, and with a swipe of the Amex, I did my part lining Apple's coffers. Too bad I don't own any Apple stock these days. read more

Came here to repair my phone and they made me wait 2 hrs to tell me that my phone needed to be replaced, which in all honesty could've been done in an hour at most. Afterwards, I ask the girl to transfer my information and she tells me they're closing and that if I didn't have it backed up that they couldn't transfer anything. I've owned apple phones for years and I know you can transfer info. between phones with no issues. The girl seemed like she was desperate for me to leave and I wasn't even asking for much. At times this store can be filled with both fanboys and or newbies trying to get their hands and eyes on a product. So you gotta wiggle past the polite staff waiting at the entrance that greet you and make your way down near by the macs. Ahh! some breathing room. Now this place has everything a little apple fan needs. Plus it has WiFi and revolves around the apple store app you probably have downloaded on your iPhone. The staff is very warm and polite and always ready to assist. Received a new iPhone from warranty services , but my previous iPhone had a screen protector which i purchased through them. They told me that they would get a screenie off the shelf and give me back what i gave them. Awesome! New Phone, New Screen Protector. Highly Recommend this place and their products. Unprofessional. Customer service needs to be taught how to treat customers. Managers need to be retrained as they are training there sales reps incorrectly. When a customer advises a manager about the info provided by the sales rep. As a manager you need to verify with your sales rep if the info that the customer provided was correct. Do not doubt your customer without proof of what is being stated is true. Sales reps need to be retrained in order not to misinform customers with pricing, sales, trade-in etc. It will avoid lots of mishaps and wrong info. It's not all about making a sale but making sure that the customer comes back the next time. I'm definitely not returning to the Apple store at Menlo Park. read more

I had a broken iphone and two other disfunctional apple products when I had walked in (a macbook and my sister's iphone). I was helped by somebody named Asante at the genius bar and I had never walked out of the store so satisfied. Asante looked into every issue and was able to help me resolve everything. Through my apple warranty, he had gotten me a new iPhone, and he fixed both my sisters products. It was a long wait before my scheduled appointment (3 hours!) but it was so worth it. Asante was amazing and he really genuinely cared about my experience with Apple. I would recommend any of my friends, if they ever need help with Apple, to go ask for him specifically. I have noticed my experiences at Menlo's Apple Store was always better than other stores, but never to this degree. Asante was awesome. Thank you so much! read more

While there is something cool about buying Apple Gear from the Apple Store I find myself getting my iPods and accessories from the Best Buy and Target Stores that are closer to my house. This store is located on second floor of the Menlo Park Mall. It is all about the experience. read more

I admit I am not a fan of Apple or the company so I am trying to make this review as objective as possible. I am not an Apple fan, but I have purchased a digital camera from here. I was in the market shopping around and they had the same camera I wanted for the online price I was looking to get it for. So I figured I'd rather have a store to take it back to in case anything was wrong. Purchasing the camera went smoothly. They asked for some personal information at the checkout which I declined and they didn't hassle me about it. My girlfriend is a huge Apple fan and purchased another iMac from them as well as their in-house support/training package. I forget what they called it. She scheduled an appointment online with someone. When she arrived she was told that individual was not available and someone else would help her. She had a question about an arrow coming up on the computer screen when pressing the shift key and didn't know what it was. Apparently either did the Apple Care person. I didn't know she was having this problem and suggested perhaps it was a sticky key issue. The person had no idea what I was referring to. Eventually I convinced her to go into the control panel where she found a sticky key setting, checked it off and suddenly the arrow appeared with the shift key. Go figure. Now I don't expect Apple to know everything about their Operating System, nor do I expect their employees or their so-called trainers to actually know more than the normal regular user. But, they sold her the computer and she didn't actively turn on the sticky keys so they should be able to rectify it for her. Also the employees tend to be either overly tentative or not tentative at all. There have been times I have walked in and I don't even get a hello, even if they aren't busy. I actually prefer this. But sometimes you can't play with an item for more than 3 seconds without one salesman after another coming up to you trying to sell their merchandise to the point where you spend more time explaining to people you're just looking than you do actually get hands on time with the device to determine if you actually have any questions. I also know two people who had laptops with bad motherboards. They went to this store to have them replaced out of warranty. They stated that a replacement motherboard would be over $700. Then tried to convince them to purchase another laptop instead. The insane markup to push new sales is very bad business. This is more of a ding on Apple than the store, but they are a customer service center for Apple and in my opinion their service has been subpar. So I'm giving them what I believe to be an objective 3 stars.. Average. They botched the customer service on my girlfriend's iMac. They screwed over two friends who wanted to keep their Macbooks, but instead converted to PC since they could get a whole new computer for less than what they wanted for parts only. And the employees who may feel as though they are being overly helpful are actually being overly annoying. But making my transaction with them and my girlfriend's iMac was a decent process. read more

Boyfriend stopped in here to find out why he couldn't restore his settings. The place was packed!!!! And it was a weekday morning. For as many people that were in the store though, he was helped right away. We didn't have to wait and his issue was resolved! Gave me more shopping time, which is always excellent! Made an appointment online to have a friends Mac Book looked at by a genesis because the battery that was bulging out of the bottom of the computer. At first glance the placed was packed with people and an army of staff assisting them. I thought for sure I would be lost in the mayhem but at last I was not. A staff person asked how I can be helped. After explaining why i was there, I was taken to a the genesis bar were they inspected my computer. After about 5 minutes they gave the computer a once over asked for a phone number then said it will take 1 to 3 day to repair. I asked why so long for a battery? They weren't only going to replace the battery but also the cracked case. Replacing the case was what was going to take sometime. This is when I asked how much all this is going to cost me? To my pleasant surprise they said they are going to do all the repairs free of charge even though the computer is out of warranty. I now remembered why I've been a Apple fan-boy since the early 90's. If an Apple product breaks down because of a defect they repair or replace it even if it is out of warranty without a hassle. This store lived up to the Apple's excellent customer service. read more

STOP NEVER GO THERE! This place is so slow, employees walk around joking around with other employees. You have people waiting, when asked why it's taking so long. They give you a run around. I compare this place to the Rahway DMV, stay way if you can. I will pay the toll into NY next time. read more

Writing a review on behalf of the workers Mikey and Tea. I went in to purchase a new iPhone 11 pro. Mikey was very helpful and explained the different options I could go about when purchasing this specific phone. He was very friendly and knowledgable right from the start. He understood when I told him I had to think about the different options before making a purchase. The next day I came back, I worked with Tea. This store closes at 9:30, but Tea stayed past these hours (until approximately 10:30). She went out of her way to contact my phone provider to make sure my new iPhone was set up properly. Like Mikey, she was very friendly and knowledgable. They both made my experience great. I ended up walking out with a new phone and glad the experience was a great one. If possible, I highly recommend working with them. Thank you both! read more

Staff here are very rude. I tried to speak to one about buying a MacBook and they just ignored me and went to talk to another customer behind me. The one who finally helped me was very friendly and helpful, but overall I would not recommend the store. I have been to many Apple stores and have a lot of their products, but I have never seen as rude behavior as I saw at Menlo Mall. read more

I went to the Apple store this past week with my aunt visiting from Peru and she wanted to speak to a specialist about the iPhone XR, but unfortunately no one spoke Spanish. I am immensely disappointed that in such a diverse state that is NJ Apple can not accommodate and speak to a person traveling from another country. I give Apple 1 star because they lack the diversity needed. Spanish people are big consumers of Apple and they should act as such by hiring bilingual speaking customer service representatives or Apple Specialists. I'm not sure exactly how their Human Resources department handles their hiring, but they should take action by hiring a more diverse staff that is able to communicate with not just English speaking customers but people from other countries. read more
