Apple Jacks is another good option for families looking to enjoy the fall season. Admission: $15 for all access, kids will want this level of access for activities $10 for select access, fine for adults not looking to participate Seemed more expensive than other orchards, hence the 4 star rating Activities: Corn pile, hay rides, swings, jumping sack, apple picking, petting zoo, corn maze, apple launching, and more! Food: Decent prices. $7 for mac and cheese, $3.50 for cider, $6.50 for a hot dog and chips. I found it to all be pretty good. The fresh apples were incredible! Great spot for kiddos, otherwise adults may find this overpriced and want to avoid the crowds. read more

As the other reviews mentioned, hardly any edible apples ... even in the gift shops. Not telling the customers before they pay for entry is a sure-fire way to torpedo your own brand. Will not be returning. read more

Came here and had to pay so much money just to get inside, and then had to pay extra for the additional activities on top of that. There wasn't a single apple to pick from the trees everything was already rotting. You basically have to buy a bag of apples instead. Definitely not what I expected for the price. read more

Plenty of parking. There was admission fees for 3+ years old - no price break for kids maybe because of all the activities. However still had to pay the fees to pick apples. The signage said apple bags are at admission booth, but it's actually in the general store, and the staff acted as though we were crazy. Plenty of applied to choose from. I wish some of the activities like the cow train was better managed. When my kids were in line, the kids on the current ride did not get off and their parents/driver did not make them get off, my kids had to take turns going on. Pricey experience. read more

While visiting family in MN we were able to visit this awesome apple orchard! It had multiple activities for kids && adults a like. They had a corn pit, a mega slide && a opstacale course/ playground. They had other activities that were only open on the weekends due to staffing during the week. We also visited their store that was located across the street from the orchard that's sold trinkets, home goods and apples. They also had a small food area that served pies & soup amongst other items. read more

Quick run down - general tix are $10, with discounts for seniors. You can get a $20 adventure ticket for access to activities, but keep in mind it's really geared towards younger kids. -once past the entrance we stopped by a store to purchase apple picking bags, but were told that with admission came with a 1/4 peck bag. Not sure if that was the deal for the day or if it's always the case. To be honest the bag was more than enough; it held about 10 apples. -i don't know if it was the time of the season, or because of the warm weather we've been getting, but there weren't a lot of apples to pick. There were more on the ground than trees. -although there was a cart near the entrance featuring pumpkins for sale, near the Sweet 16 apples was a patch of free pumpkins and other gourds. Albeit the ones left were small, they were zero dollars. Bring a wagon and save your money. -besides the porta-potties near the entrance, I didn't see any bathrooms throughout the area. Keep that in mind before venturing too far in. That said, it was an okay time for us, but I bet a grand time for the little kids given all the activities. read more

I'm sad to say I was very disappointed by this place. The biggest issue: THE PRICES! $15/ person just to enter, and that applies to anyone over age 1! Also, they charge $4.50 for a pound of apples. I want to support local and get fresh apples but come on! I did enjoy that there were a lot of activities, but some were sort of mediocre. For example, the petting zoo only had 3 goats and 1 chicken, and although the map advertised pony rides they didn't actually have ponies. Don't recommend and I will not bring my family back either. read more

It's fall! If you love finding reasons to wander around outside, this is one of the best. We found this orchard one year while googling new places to pick apples and gave it a chance. This is an annual visit now for is. The apples are delicious, we love grabbing our pumpkins for Halloween here and the little barn shop is full of goodies. Both house wares, cute cold weather gear and delicious jams, jellies and butters. If you want a snack while you're there, you will have quite the selection of both apple and non apple sweet treats. I did enjoy a cold cider while picking apples. And it was fantastic. As an adult, the only feedback i would give is the cost to just get into the orchard. I don't have kids so the $10 admission fee literally covers only walking the orchard and pumpkin patch. The other items it covers really are just for kids. To do the corn maze you have to buy the $15 ticket. I am more than happy to pay and support local, but I'm going to have to pay for the apples I pick anyway so I would think a $5 cover for just the orchard would make more sense and maybe $10 for the maze. The add ins they usually have (face painting, temp tattoos etc) are great but still meant for kids and not so much big kids. I will of course continue to visit but would like to have a little more lower cost options for those not doing the kiddie games. read more

We wanted to go on an apple orchard date and decided on Apple Jack Orchards in Delano, MN. Located about half an hour outside of Minneapolis, Apple Jack offers fall fun for all ages. There is a $10 admission fee. Once you have a wristband, you are able to access the following activities: apple trees for prime apple-picking, a corn maze, a corn pit, play area for children, low ropes course, and jumping pillow. If you plan to partake in the U-pick apples option, apples are $4.50 per pound. Apple Jack also has a bakery, cafe, apple market, and gift shop which you do not need to get a wristband to visit. There were honey crisp and sweet tango apples available during our trip. It was so fun going through the rows of apples and finding juicy little treasures! We really liked the corn maze and corn pit too - we got to feel like kids again! So much to explore here! I will say the one thing that bothered us were the signs directing us to parking. One large sign pointed in one direction, and the other sign pointed in a different direction, so it was very confusing determining where we could park. We stopped to ask an employee who was at the admission stand about the parking situation, and she rudely told us how we couldn't park there and had to go across the road. Apple Jack needs to be more clear about their signage and make sure it's consistent on both sides of the road, so folks coming from out of town know where to go. read more

Overall this place seems like a great place to bring small children- and it's mainly geared for kids throughout! That being said, if you are an adult and won't be participating in any children's activities it's hardly worth the exorbitant entry fee to enter. We only wanted to do the corn maze, walk through the sunflowers, and buy some donuts on this trip... unfortunately you have to pay $20 to do that, but only $10 to do everything but the maze and apple cannon. We really wish there had been another option since we didn't take the hayride, use the kids jungle gym, or giant slide also geared for children. The prices in the bakery were also on the higher side ($10 for an apple dumpling that you have to make your own sauce for at home), and there were no donuts in the afternoon (one of the two reasons we chose this orchard). It was very disappointing and won't be on our list to visit again. The parking at this apple orchard wasn't great and there wasn't a lot of space. Maybe with kids it would be worth the trip, but not so much for a group of adults. read more

Very overpriced! You can not get in without a wrist band it will cost you $15 or you can choose the $10. Eat before you go cause the food is way over priced. Cup of soup or chili $10.50, crazy prices! I could goto Zupas & get way more. Be prepared to pay. Apples $4.50 per pound. Been going here since 2008 this was definitely a let down to see how they jumped on price gouging wagon.... Shame on them.... I suggest researching before heading here... read more

So many fun things to do here and they even have some cute goats and chickens! I love that you can buy stuff to feed them from a vending machine. The staff is also pretty friendly. Going on a Monday not such a good idea. So, no fresh donuts etc? Made the drive and very disappointing. Sorry not going back.

I think it is ridiculous to charge $10 to go pick apples, and then the cost of apples on top of that. I had no interest in the various other activities, I just wanted to pick apples. Ended up spending $35 for a very small bag of apples. They also have a shop for premade products, and I chose the Apple Crisp. It should be labeled crisp with a wee bit of apple. Very disappointing. I have brought my kids here when they were small, and we came now that they are adults, and we were very disappointed. This is my last trip. There are other excellent options. read more

Amazing beautiful business and beautiful amazing things to do with your child or just a family member

Horrible experience. We had to pay extra to go pick apples just to get to the trees and there's NO APPLES to pick. There were no signs posted saying that they were out and we had to go get a bag from an employee and was never told then either that there was none. The orchard closes at five and so we get to the front to buy apples from the stand outside and it's 4:55 and there's no employee at the cash register. There was a line of people wanting to buy apples. We track down an employee and she's angry and just walks to the register telling everyone "we close at five." She grabs the cash from the register and we try to get her attention to talk to her by saying "ma'am, excuse me..." and she walks faster away from us. Horrible horrible experience. We are never going back and we will share our experience with others. read more

My girlfriend and I went to pick apples today and had to pay an admission fee of $20 dollars! Yes it got us in to pick apples and we did which was $5.60 per pound. Guess that is the going price. When we went to go through the the corn Maze the girl said we needed blue band to walk through the maze..... told we had only purchase the band that allowed us in the orchard! Total rip-off this was, ended up costing us $45 dollars for 4 pounds of apples! read more

Pulled in there for only 2 minutes , asked where to park and they gave a snarky remark. No pets allowed even though we called ahead of time to confirm we could bring our dog. Drove over a half hour to get here to leave in 2 seconds. read more

Hands down my favorite orchard to visit! It's a bit of a drive, but the environment is worth it! The staff are super friendly and helpful. The activities are kid-oriented, like the cow train, playground, and the in-ground bouncy. But the corn pit is available, as well as the maze, wagon ride, and apple cannon that us young adults can enjoy :) I've always done their pick your own apples! It's like a Fall tradition now to walk through the orchards and try the apples. Honeycrisp is still my number 1, but I'm a big fan of honey gold and sweet 16. In their building, I always, ALWAYS, get apple cinnamon donuts. Ooo they're just SO delicious! Also, get apple cider. And apple butter. You know what? Get it all! This year, they started charging a 5 dollar admission fee, which is kind of a bummer, but in retrospect, it's 5 bucks and you get one activity of choice. read more

I'll start off with the only positive of this experience. The apple donuts were delicious! Some of the best. But even that was not worth the price we paid to enter and apple cost. For a family of 5 to do the basic entry, three of bags of apples and then 3 desserts at their bakery cost $200!!!! . I can't wrap my head around how that is acceptable and why people are participating and paying that. Save yourself the money... and go else where. read more

Been a family tradition to go to Apple Jack's since the 1990's. So disappointed in what this place has become and it shows. Crowds on the Sunday we went were significantly smaller than in year's past. Prices are very expensive. They also seem to get "lawyer-ed up" with the posting signs all over the place of no outside food on the grounds. Okay, we get it, but if your bringing young children be prepared to pay up. Cross-off this family tradition. read more

I have grown up going to Apple Jacks. However, now there is a charge ($10 ages one and over) to even go pick apples. Even if you do no other activities, it is $10 to pick. That is extremely disappointing for those that just want to go pick apples without all the other kids activities. Other orchards around here do not do it that way. No more Apple Jacks for us. Extremely disappointing. Fall Harvest Orchard got our business instead! read more

Such an amazing place! I've been going here for 28 years. The pick your own apples, the apple cannon, the wagon rides and the food definitley make it such a great choice for me. I don't even have children I just go with my best friend and mob out. It's not spooky season unless you get your pumpkins, gourds, and ornamental corn from Apple Jack! They have great salsa, honey, spreads and dips inside. I love the animals and I love the option to be able to pick your own pumpkin! The prices are a bit steep, but it's good to support local farmers :). I love the corn maze TBH I still get stuck in it. It's 5$ for all of the activities and $10 for unlimited. I honestly can't imagine starting my fall off by not coming here! I love it! Thank you guys :) read more

Very cute place to take the kids or with a group of friends. The apples are very crisp and delicious. It's a bit out in the middle of nowhere, but worth the drive. They also have raspberries you can pick from. If you get hungry, they have a little snack shop inside. Don't pass up the donuts! read more

I highly recommend coming here, and I 100% plan on coming back when I have time to eat all the apples and explore on my own time :) read more

We've been coming to Apple Jacks for 8 years. We will not be back next year. The prices have become absolute gauging. It's ridiculous. I have 4 kids and now it's $20 per child for a wristband to do all the activities. There's a lesser wrist band at $15 but it didn't include the corn pit- which is what my kids love the most. There's a big bounce bubbles to jump on, a mediocre cow train ride pulled by a tractor and an apple cannon for activities. The corn maze was so disappointing also. Otherwise it's just a park with swing sets and some climbing things for kids to do. That's it and they're charging $20 a child! Oh and they only let each of my kids shoot 3 apples out of the apple cannon. Haha I said oh they should be able to shoot $80 worth of apples that's ridiculous. The food in the cafe was sub par at best. $9 for a hot dog for your kid with a bag of chips. If you go, eat a good lunch at a restaurant first and just get a dessert there. Not worth the money to feed your family there. There's other orchard with way more activities to do that charge way less. We won't be back sadly! read more

What a cute spot. The gift shop is full of cute things. The restaurant area is full of apple desserts which are absolutely delicious, which you can enjoy outside as well, with a beautiful setting along a river! Great spot for a family photo! This place USED to be a great place to spend a fun afternoon with family. Now it's a crappy place to spend way too much money. Money hungry policies make you pay to watch your kids. Won't return, and I would NEVER recommend to anyone! And... they employ children, probably to get out of paying a decent wage! read more

Terrible customer service and lack of communication. Argued with me and stated we had said we would have 125 people at the venue and we were expecting 30-40 not even the max guest count.**led us to believe we could have our wedding reception at their venue. Met in person and acted as though we could have it there and would be under the Max amount of people allowed for gatherings per state law. I do not care for the customer service and lack of empathy of their part. It does not give us much notice to adjust and change. They never submitted what state laws they are basing this off of and are cancelling on us without actual facts. Here's the actual update- they lied to us. these are Mn guidelines as of July 31. Article for citation-https://mn.gov/covid19/for-minnesotans/stay-safe-mn/stay-safe-plan.jsp Gatherings in a place of worship or ceremonies such as a funeral or wedding Occupancy must be reduced to allow for the required social distancing of at least 6 feet between people who do not live in the same household. For indoor worship settings, occupancy must not exceed 50% of total capacity, with a maximum of 250 people in a single self-contained space. This is such a great thing to do in the fall. My two teenagers were really surprised by how much they liked walking around and exploring the corn maze. We picked our own apples and took some really cute pictures of the girls in the trees. I loved the gift shop and sitting outside eating apple-crips and caramel-apples. Just a great drive and family outing and you can spend as much or as little time there as you want. read more

We were saddened to find our that the apple orchard that we have been visiting for the past several years was closing after 30 years in business. So we have decided to take a mini tour of some select orchards in search of a new fav. Apple Jack Orchards is our first selection. Apple Jack has been rated one of the top 10 orchards in the Country, we had to check this out. Apple Jack is located in Delano. Its really a very pretty drive through rolling hills and in the Fall the colors are wonderful. One of the first things we noticed is that there is a police officer to help direct traffic. This place is huge. There is parking on one side of the street. On the other side they have a couple of buildings where they have treats and a gift shop. Then across the street is a corn maze, pick your own apples, a zip line a all sorts of other fun things. Unfortunately due to a freeze, you could not pick your own apples. We did like the option inside that you could select your own apples from the bins. There was a decent selection and one lady who was trying to keep up with the masses of people looking for a sample. In their cafe you can get burgers, hot dogs, pizza and a bunch of various sweets and snacks. I see this as a great place to take your family as with a play area and all the activities you would spend hours here with the kids. They also have a nice place to sit outside next to a river. Really a very scenic area. It's not quite what we were looking for, but really with a place this large, this is something for everyone. read more

An apple a day keeps the doctor away; they're perfect for throwing. I used to hate apples, but then I discovered that this was due to eating the ubiquitous, mealy, wax-like red delicious apples. Those things are gross, although I hear the real thing is decent. Unfortunately, Washington ships them all to Japan, the land of $50 cantaloupes and square-shaped watermelons. Go figure. Being in Minnesota is great for apple lovers, since the university has churned out some nice products, such as the Honeycrisp. It's sweet AND crispy. The copyright on them ended last November, too, so in a few years be on the look out for cheaper and more plentiful amounts of these apples. Apple Jack Orchards is pretty great for families. They sell food and offer pony rides. I really wanted a pony ride, but these were mini ponies and I didn't want to stick out amongst all the little kids riding them. Oh well. There are also goats and chickens to look at; you can't pet them, which is a good idea since if they were allowed to be petted, they'd be dead by now from all that attention. You can also get your face painted. The drive there is about an hour from the Twin Cities but totally worth it. They are open late into the season, which is great for slackers like me. I just went this past weekend (9/26/09) and they still had a lot of apples to pick from the trees. One bag is about ten pounds. You pay by the type of apple you pick. Honeycrisps were about $2.70, which is more expensive than the other apples but way more cheap than buying them at the grocery store. The best things were picking raspberries and the apple cider. The summer crop was pretty meager this year, but I think no one has had problems with the fall crop. These are a lot smaller than store-bought, but taste better. They are also quick to ripen, so eat them immediately or freeze them on a tray and bag them. Being able to eat while picking didn't hurt either. The apple cider, like everything else, is much cheaper here. And it's so good. I wish it were cooler so I could make mulled cider. I love seasonal activities, so apple picking really appeals to me. If you're looking for some date-y activity that's not doing the Segway Tour of Minneapolis or something to do with the family, definitely go to Apple Jack before they close for the season. read more

The Apple Jack Orchard truly has it all from a petting zoo, apple picking, corn mazes, a restaurant, a bakery, and so much more. Definitely stop by if you are in the neighborhood. The pulled pork sandwich is smoked to perfection and the apple cider donuts were soft and made daily. By the apple orchard, there is an apple cannon where you shoot apples at different targets. You should totally try that if you are already at Apple Jack Orchards. A one time thing that's totally worth it. read more

Our day at the orchard. A beautiful Sat in late Sept, we decided to take the kidos apple picking. We called 30 mins prior to going, they said they had plenty of apples to pick. We get there and there's a massive line, not a big deal. I asked someone if we had to stand in line before picking and was told yes, to get a bag and map. Ok. 45 mins later, get to the front and was told the guy at the kettle corn stand doesn't work for them and shouldn't have told me that. I told them they should instruct him or have someone out front passing out bags and directions. They said I was welcome to tell him myself. Ha! Worse that that was I was told they were OUT, not a freakin apple left on the tree. Ugh. Fine. We went and took the kids to a bunch of the other stuff, corn pit, bounce pillow, apple cannon, all fun. We're going to grab an apple donut on the way out. Stood in line again. Dude in front of me buys the last bag! They tell me there's plenty across the street at the other barn. Well, should I go stand in line over there again or maybe could you guys use one of your 500 vehicles to restock? Horribly understaffed and the folks that were there couldn't have cared less about service or customers. A tip, Treat your customers like you appreciate them. There are 50 other orchards around and we won't be back at this one, ever. read more

What an adorable and fun way to spend a fall day with the kiddo. There's pony rides, a bouncy trampoline, a corn pit, a corn maze, hay ride, and all the apples you can stomach. I don't have kids, but if I did I would take them to this orchard. There are so many things to do! Face painting, cow train rides, the apple cannon, and the CORN MAZE! It was fun for a bunch of people in their mid-twenties; kids would have even more fun. Plus, on Saturday nights, you can go through the corn maze at night. You can try the apples that they sell in the orchard inside the store. If there are apples left, you can even pick your own. So many different options! If you need your sugar fix, get the apple fritter or the apple donuts. YUM YUM YUM!! read more

This is my kind of apple orchard because there is so much to do. Our first stop was to get some munchies....I got an apple dumpling a la carte. My group also got an apple donut, apple pull away, kettle corn, and apple cider. Since I went with a friend and her kids to eat, I was already satisfied. The kids had loads of fun....pony rides, feeding the goats and chickens, the cow train looking thing, the jumping pillow, and a tractor ride. I don't have kids but it was still a nice way to spend a fall Sunday afternoon. read more
