Purchased an iPhone 6 at Verizon, but could not get it to work properly. Made a next-day appointment at the Genius bar. Found a patient, kind, smart, informed person (Anna, I believe) that spent an hour with me (and a few other customers in between) resolving most of my problems. (It took a phone call to Apple to straighten out the Apple ID issues.) read more

Such helpful staff and made a stressful situation much easier. Came in with a cracked screen display and they couldn't fix the screen in store. They switched the phone out for one that was not damaged in less than 10 minutes. read more

This store gets low ratings for good reason. The service is terrible. I brought my Macs in for a simple data migration (because I didn't have the time to do it myself). They said they couldn't do it from my desktop to my laptop as there wasn't enough space. I didn't want the whole desktop, just a few files and the passwords. So I left. Then I called Apple and they said it most certainly could be done. Now, 48 hours after dropping off my two Macs, I'm still waiting on them to complete it. This is a simple task. C'mon. read more

This store is very friendly, professional, efficient with mature customers and given the respect I received and help with my travel drive for my MacBook Pro, I was amazed at how nice Washington, DC can be. Even when I called repeatedly about the IPAD 2 inventory (given they're largely sold out) I appreciated the phone etiquette. Everyone was wonderful there. read more

Just please don't go here. Unless you know exactly what you need and can help yourself and you're not headed in for tech support, don't bother. Went in to for help with my new iPod Classic. In less than 30 days from when I purchased it, it broke. I've been using iPods for something like 6 years now and have never had a reliability issue. Both of my previous ones had good runs. So I was pretty shocked when my new Classic called it quits so soon. I gave this store two starts because of the guy who sold me my iPod to begin with. I can't recall his name, but I'm guessing he's Australian, based on his accent. He didn't try to upsell me or otherwise changed my mind about what I wanted: I came in for an iPod Classic, I left with just that. Helpful, joked with me, and not pushy. But, my iPod's dead now. It even tried to take out my work computer the other day, twice making it enter the dreaded "blue screen of death" mode. So, I made an appointment for their Genius Bar ahead of time. Don't know why I bothered, I still had to wait 30 minutes from my appointment time until someone could speak with me. When I did get a chance to have someone troubleshoot for me, he talked down to me and didn't pay attention to my explanations of the problem. At one point, my phone was brought up in our chit-chat. I'd noticed I was the only person not tapping away on an iPhone while waiting for my appointment, and that's because I use an Android. I said something along the lines about how I counted on the phone for anything, and it was holding things together as my backup iPod for the time being. The guy "helping" me looked over at it, and said in I snide tone, "I don't even know what that is." Yeah, it might have been a silly, petty comment, but whatever. Oh, and the best part -- he sent me home with a newly "fixed" iPod. As soon as I plugged it into my computer to start loading it up with all my music again, it froze my machine and forced it into blue screen of death mode. Lovely! This is exactly the problem I had before I went into the Apple store. Guess it would have been nice for the guy helping me tonight to have known that. If only he'd listened to me telling him to problem to begin with.... read more

Truly and honestly, I've been in manny apple stores before, but I've never seen like rudeness and ignorance in such faced branch.

I received first-rate service. The person at the Genius Bar was impressively knowledgeable. I do recommend this store.

I am very frustrated with my service at the Apple Store in Georgetown. My phone broke yesterday and went I went online to try to make an appointment for the genius bar the next one available was Thursday evening. I figured I would try to drop in (because three days without a phone is difficult in the modern world) and the wait time to meet with any one was 3 1/2 hours. I'm sorry, but when your product breaks (for no apparent reason) I shouldn't have to wait for that long to be seen. I'm sure it is not the fault of the people that work there but more resources should be provided to a city full of iPhone users. read more

After not following my request for a work order and repairing my device without my authorization, the Apple Store manager failed to listen to me and treat me as a valued Apple customer who was frustrated with a charge that I wanted to avoid. Instead of offering a solution to my issue and apologizing for the error made by her store associate, she was extremely accusatory and dismissive. She offered no solutions. I had to call my attorney and Apple Support. Apple Support listened to my grievance, and they were extremely understanding. They found a favorable solution in 20 minutes. Upon my return to the Apple store to pick up my device, I requested the store manager because she was the one whom I had been working with to solve the issue. She directed me to a waiting area, and it seemed as if she was going to close out the situation with the return of the device and an apology for her store's negligence, but she didn't. Instead, a store associate delivered the device to me and told me that her manager was pulled into something else and couldn't speak to me. I found it interesting that I saw the store manager fixing cords at one of the tables while I was exiting the store. Seemed like she struggled to humble herself and admit that she completely handled the situation wrong. Extremely poor customer service. read more

I have never felt compelled to write an online review even though I have had my fair share of both good and bad customer service experiences. However for the first time I was so incensed that I knew I had to do my duty and write about it to warn people, even though I have seen from this page that multitudes of people have already done a good job of that. That just goes to show how terrible the service at this Apple Store is. First of all, I have lived in Georgetown for three years and lines are always long. The tons of staff they have are inefficient. Most of them are rude, or incompetent. They act enlightened and high and mighty but in reality have poor knowledge of the technology they work with, resulting in poor service and high wait times. I have entered my serial number in the Apple system online, qualify for warranties for certain services, and come to the store to be told I don't qualify. Prices and quotes are always jacked up from what Apple service says both online and over the phone. Today I wasted two hours of my day waiting on a screen repair that I was paying full price for, not reduced warranty price, yet they declined to tell me beforehand that they would not replace the part as it had been replaced by someone else before. If that's your policy it should apply to warranties, not the full price repair. They are just resentful of the free market and competitors and are trying to punish apple customers for occasionally not falling prey to their monopoly. There is seriously no other reason since the reason they gave (extremely rudely) is complete BS about not being able to do the repair unless it's the original apple phone and that the phone "isn't an iphone" anymore if you go to a 3rd party. It's a piece of glass not like I jailbroke the entire phone. The repair is a simple procedure that they mark up ridiculously so it's their loss. In the end their rudeness is so extreme that is harms them as they lose the money I would have paid as well as the loyalty of a long-term apple customer. read more

I made a Yelp account just to write this post, as usually I do not have problems at any stores in general. Avoid this Apple store at all costs. The staff is only eager to assist you if you are there to buy a new laptop/phone etc. I schedule an appointment, was there 10 minutes early, and waited 35 minutes before an employee at the Genius Bar even looked my way. The store is very short staffed/ half of the staff is unqualified to answer questions related to problems with the products that they sell. I was told that my computer would cost $755 to fix, but was not even told where this money would be allocated or given a report as to what was wrong with my computer. They act as if the customers that they service are oblivious and just slaves of Apple, willing to shell out whatever it takes to service junk products compared to what the price tags say. Also, while waiting for thirty minutes, I was able to analyze how the employees actually run the store. I noticed employees leaving the Genius Bar and talking badly about customers to the other employees while customers sat struggling to fix their broken products. I also noticed an 8-9 month pregnant employee who wanted to leave early, but the boss told her that she could not and they seemed to be bickering. read more

Wow, what a total waste of time! Totally unclear how to check in for Genius Bar service. (Somehow we're supposed to have ESP about that.) Put on wait list for "approximately one hour", told I would get a 20 minutes head's up by text. While eating lunch at restaurant, received a 5 minutes head's up and had to rush over there. So-called "genius" was completely useless helping me with 3rd gen iPod Nano (recently purchased refurbished on Amazon). Refused to pull up my iTunes account because of "private information" even though I wanted his help loading music from iTunes to the iPod. Looked at iPod menu and told me iPod was too old and incompatible with current iTunes software. I went home and contacted Amazon seller about my issue, and then figured out how to load the music!! Gave Amazon seller 5 stars today, one star for so-called "genius" at Apple Store. What is their training? "Tell customer only new stuff works"??? read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars. I went in thinking that I had scheduled a genius appointment for that day, only to learn that it was actually the next day. I was told that my simple question regarding how much it would take to replace my pixalating screen on my 4 year old MacAir could only be given by genius and that it would be impossible to speak with one that day, even after I offered to wait for an opening when someone didn't show up or had a quick appointment etc. I made it clear to them that I fully expected to end up purchasing a new computer today, but needed first to discern that it was not worth replacing the part on the old one. I was then turned to the sales team, who refused to look up the cost of a screen replacement--mumbling something about how the price could only be determined on a case- by-case basis and only by the genius. Who knew typing an inventory query into a computer was a genius level task because answer depends on some mysterious formula only they are privy to??? I asked to speak to a manager who repeated what I had already been told about there being procedures in place, blah, blah, blah. He then told me I should return tomorrow for my previously scheduled appointment with the "genius." I let them know that I'm actually unavailable tomorrow as I will be at the Best Buy purchasing a PC. I am thrilled to know that Apple is doing so well, that they can afford to completely alienate a return customer, #Apple1andDone. read more

The store itself is great - huge, clean, very happening. Unfortunately I received poor customer service a few times. It just seems like there are so many staffers and customers that the place ranges from a bit disorganized a best to a full on zoo. Today I had an appt. at the iPhone genius bar and I waited twenty minutes after my appt. to get service. This defeats the purpose of making an appt.?! I made another appt. for the iMac bar while I was in the store today - the rep scheduled me and took notes on my problem. I waited 1.5 hours until my appt. and only then learn that my keyboard cannot be assessed unless I have the serial number of the computer that it works with. So, I wasted a few hours from my day to come home with the same problem with my keyboard. I was disappointed that the rep who scheduled me while I was in store did not inform me of the information I would need to receive service from the iMac genius bar. I expect more from Apple honestly. I'm used to disorganized and confused customer service reps at other stores, but Apply has such a better reputation. All that being said, I want to mention a positive note : I did however work with a few very kind and knowledgeable representatives: Paul, Cash, and Javier at the genius bar and David on the floor. read more

i have been a long time supporter of apple, at least 15 years of a customer. this was the worst experience i have had in a long time. i was told that a repair would be done overnight, I was very clear about the issue and my phone's history of having a third party vendor battery (not knowing it would be an issue). when i returned in the morning (mind you, its a bit of a trek in the middle of Georgetown), i was told nothing has been done on my phone since i have a third party vendor battery, which is policy. I understand that, however i had always been clear about where my replacement battery was from and was told it could still be replaced the night before. when i spoke with the manager today, he made it seem like it was a 'misunderstanding' and would not take responsibility for the fact that I had to come back to the apple store for a phone with no change/ new battery -- if you can't replace the battery, thats ok - just tell me that up front. the manager failed to take responsibility, as such, i will not be returning. read more
