Employee reset my iPhone BEFORE telling me that I didn't have applecare and would cost 9.6x more, even though I selected to get it.

Brief update: I go in occasionally to browse or pick up an order, and have always gotten good service. There are one or two greeters at the door who ask how they can help, and then direct you to some other part of the store based on what you want. I like the greeter system; they direct you to, or call, the right help right away and move quickly to the next person. My most recent experiences were bringing in an old iMac for recycling (free), which went well except that it was very busy and there were about 5 people in front of me; and picking up a special order of two iMacs, which also went well; the order was brought out quickly, the associate made sure I had all the information and help I needed, and I was out of there quickly. The greeter system works well for orders; they scan the QR code, which gets the wheels turning in the back room to bring out your order. read more

It used to be great!! But today .. I went in after having just bought a new MacBook Pro (& just migrating my stuff from my old Pro) ... The issue was/IS that when the new computer asked me to sign into my AppleID .. it told me it couldn't be verified and maybe the password was wrong? Nope-it works fine on all my other Apple products. Anyway .. I was told to just hang out til the 7th cuz now my new computer was allegedly in "recovery mode". Or "call the 1-800 number". WHAT?! I'm here, IN THE STORE, for a reason ... right?! Why are they passing the buck? This young man couldn't help, so, Ok -- but someone in the store should be able to! So, then I asked the manager for help. (Laid back, hat, casual, beard, glasses - didn't get his name, but "no help" or "patronizing" comes to mind). I had (again) explained the issue .. that in fact I had had the same issue w my OLD computer and the 800 number couldn't/didn't resolve it after 3hrs on the phone ... blah blah .. so why would u do that again?? He tells me "well, you obviously don't want to hear what I'm telling you, so maybe this is a waste of time." Hmmmm, maybe HE didn't want to listen .. I mean, the definition of stupidity (ok, insanity, whatever) is "doing the SAME THJNG AND EXPECTING A DIFFERENT RESULT" .. right?! Gawd. So, I said this is F'ing stupid .. and ... (then he admonished my swear word‍) ... and you are just, passing the buck ... and patronizing me. I like how someone Not doing their job, or trying to actually come up w a solution just puts the problem in someone else's back. Lazy. ROD (retired on duty). Anyhow, they suck. They may be able to sell you something but cannot (will not) *really* trouble shoot. Find another store - one where the Manager gives a dang. Seriously, don't waste your time. Update: spoke to support and they told me to speak to the store itself for a discount. The manager was incredibly rude and did not let me explain the phone at many points. My interactions with them have always been snotty. They are way more interested in their aesthetic than they are with actually helping people. It drives me nuts that you have to have an appointment to just walk in and buy something. Brought in my 6s with 16GB memory because Apple wants me to spend at least $400.00 for a new phone. Service was terrific....but.... See, my phone is paid off, and Apple needs more money. With each "System Upgrade" they have eroded the useable memory down to less than1 GB. So I gotta offload apps to use apps. Annoying, but the phone still works great as a phone. As a consumer, I can only wonder; How long will the 120 GB memory in a new phone last before Apple decides I must get a new phone? My guess, a couple of years, or the time it would take to pay $400.00 on the Apple payment plan, whichever comes first. My solution? I'm gonna see if this phone is usable for the next 5 years. After that, screw Apple. I will have learned to live with a 16 GB phone. F'you Apple! You've received all the money you need from me! read more

During, my wait time, made inquiry and believe it's a small inconvenience, 'may I plug in my computer? It has not been used and/or charged for several months...' I must say, his response, was not as expected "wait until your time, then you can plug-in your computer" The whole experience, is not, what I expected and prior to finality of appointment, inquired possibilities trade-in of my iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 8 in exchange to off set purchase price an iPhone 12 Pro. However my Genius Bar appointment was not lengthy, he installed "malware bites" ran on free trial to find out if my MacBook was infected. And, it was not infected, informed that's my appointment otherwise, nothing was fixed, said it would take hours for computer to be up-to-date "updates" that's occurred, during time ofAgain, felt like, I'll be forced to return. Maybe, I will try different store for help Repeated "mask" issues, while I am fully vaccinated and disabled, using supplemental oxygen and most people cannot understand mee. Unless, I take off mask and it was my belief, fully vaccinated persons can choose to wear their masks clearly, found that I was wrong. At first, I couldn't understand, why they wanted me to wait outside, "tech would "happily assist" (repeatedly, over and over) and, I am clearly struggling, profusely sweating, asked for water once, no twice. Also, I'm losing my sight (near-sighted), my glasses easily fog up, my heart rate is racing (130/bpm), oxygen saturation is down. Due to my error I came an hour and half early, thinking, I was late. I'm alone, carrying my bag, laptop, two phones and other hand was used to hold onto my service dog and being unable to navigate myself over. It was weekend, disabled parking spaces all taken up, it meant, forced to drive around, couple of times and it was hot. I cannot walk more than one block, it hurts and felt faint by time, I could walk thru door at Dick's Sporting Goods. read more

The last time we were here, it was not a positive experience. However, the person that made the experience so negative, I have not seen them since I've been back here. With that being said, I came in last week to get a new band for my Watch. I liked the "Solo Loop" and left with three. Based on the fitting, I measured to be a "7," but after wearing the band and working out with a heart rate monitor that attaches to the band, I wasn't getting a consistent reading from my Watch due to it being a bit loose. So today, I came in to exchange the bands for a smaller size. Dom helped me out with refitting my wrist, which had me choosing between a size 5 or 6, and ultimately agreeing that the 6 was probably my better bet. They were super helpful and friendly, and even though the store was really busy with customers waiting outside for their chance to get in with a Genius, Dom had me taken care of and on my way in about 10 minutes. I wasn't a fan at how crowded the store was, despite their efforts to social distance and whatnot. It seemed a lot of people passed closely by or stood relatively close to others. I'm just not sure how much better Apple could do without limiting capacity way below what is required as a maximum. On the plus side, Dom was thorough about sanitizing everything we were working with; wiping down the model Watch and bands before and after we used them. When another Genius came over to take the Watches to show someone else when we were finished with them, that Genius too was diligent about sanitizing the products. read more

Apples customer service has gone so downhill since the last time I owned an iPhone. My husband lost one of his AirPod earpieces- no big deal, bought a replacement on eBay. However, Apple has blocked 3rd party sellers pretty neatly. They give you an error that says "not your AirPod" and then when you go into the Apple Store, they tell you to buy one of their replacements for $80. Marcus, our Mac genius, then immediately put my husbands working AirPod into another case and bricked that one as well. Back in the day, you paid a premium for Apple because of the customer service. Now you pay a premium, and then you have to pay more of a premium just to get your functioning item to work to its full potential. It's really really sad. I remember when all Apple Stores were rated 4.5 - 5 stars. Just looked and both Apple stores in Denver are rated 2 stars, and those ratings are obviously justified based on my experience. Last time i came in for my appointment about 15 minutes early and stood around with my laptop for almost 45 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. They told me if i'd "been any later" they would have cancelled my appointment. Today I went in to get a gamepad, that's it, should have been in or out in one or two minutes. Instead I had to wait on the employees who were just socializing. I bet if I'd taken my mask off they'd be all over me. read more

I came in just a half hour before closing to dig deep into my pockets and splurge on a new phone. While my iPhone 5 has served me well for countless years it was time to lay it to rest and pony up to something a bit more powerful and larger for my aging eyes. I did not have to wait long to meet with an associate who walked me through the current offerings (both phones and accessories). The transaction was smooth and I appreciated their honesty regarding the differences between their phones & price points. In no time my transaction was complete and they were helping me to log into my new phone. While it charged up and did its thing I perused the cases. While they had many, I couldn't keep my eyes (or hands) away from a lovely clear case near the bottom shelf. I paid for my case (the staffers that rung in accessory purchases gave me a heads up they were getting ready to close) and went on my way (opting to perform the final steps on the new phone at home). I'd definitely make another purchase from this store and would be sure to arrive at least an hour before closing so I could have their help setting up my new phone. read more

I give this store 3 bananas. They are not great but not poor. They strive for meh-xcellence. They're so busy, they should consider hiring more people or something. You can be scheduling an appointment for the same day and all of them will vanish during the scheduling. Difficult to get attention from the store clerks because they're busy up selling other customers or whatever it is they do. I always come on a mission, I usually have no questions, I just come there to either buy which takes me 10 minutes when I can overcome the 30 minute wait or get stuff fixed which takes me 10 minutes to drop off. I'm not sure who's holding up the line. There's a fine line between being friendly and TMI. I'd like to do a controlled study on the effects of extroversion on queuing theorem. I'm certain the extroverts are ruining it for all of us. Including the reviews for this apple store. Ideally it should run well if you don't get too friendly with the staff. Took 45 min for an "express" puck up, with a reservation. Dont bother making a reservation at all. Just show up. They don't check reservations at all, they just tell you to get in the back of the line. And that's only if the two girls in front of the store can be bothered to stop chatting long enough to tell you. Mostly it's customers or the security guard helping customers. Apple may as well fire the two chicks working out in front of the store on at noon on 1/23/21. A manikin holding a sign would be more helpful, and a manikin holding up it's middle finger would probably still be a better financial investment then them. read more

I came here twice. The first time was to purchase the new iPhone 12. The sales associate who helping me out was very patient with me since it's a big purchase decision after all. He also didn't try to sell stuff I don't need. The second time I came to return an iPad. Again, they were helpful and the return process was easy and quick. I think that due to COVID, they only allow certain numbers of people in the store. So you have to make an appointment. The appointment is about 10-15 mins wait, which is no big deal. The reason I knockoff 1 star because when I came to return my iPad, the person standing out front said I need to make an appointment, which is a 10 mins wait. When I came back for my appointment time after 10 mins. Another person standing out front said "since it's a return, you don't need an appointment, just come on in." Seriously! Did I just waste my 10 mins? Appointment or no appointment, be consistent please! read more

Went into this store today and not a single employee was willing to help even though there were multiple employees standing around, doing nothing. I did find it ironic that there were a couple of supervisors also standing around, not willing to help, but they were having a conversation with each other, talking about the culture of their store. Missed work cuz of it and was on the phone for 3 hours filing complaints. Also to the manager reading this, this "simple mistake" cost me a lot. Went to the apple store after being told by T-mobile that apple has taken control of in-warranty replacement and service for my Iphone Xs Max. This is the second time this model has needed replacement. This time because the top portion of my screen is not working. Instead of helping as they have in the past, the guy they put in chage of the COVID response acted rude and smug the entire time. I run my business off of my phone and the inability to replace faulty hardware in a timely manner is detrimental to my ability to run my business. In the past, apple has been the king of customer service, and I have noticed a steady decline in the years since Steve Jobs passed away. I've personally converted more than 20 people into apple users an average of 1.5 per year since I started because of their former customer service and attempts to do right by us. I can't in good conscience continue to do so if they are going to treat their customers this poorly. read more

Terrible service and attitude by manager at this store. Last night I reviewed their website to make sure if it was necessary to make an appointment. The website states clearly the you can "SHOP BY WALKING IN.." The manager would not admit that the website gave wrong information. Instead he defended it saying it was "worded in a confusing way.". I don't know where this "manager" went to school but he obviously did not do very well in English class. Furthermore, he wanted me to come back in 45 minutes. Well THANK YOU!! For nothing. Let me start with the fact that some day I will learn to read reviews before using a business! UGGG After asking assistance from the sales person, no name on my receipt, to be sure I was not downgrading (speed, memory, etc.) he quickly checked me out with my new computer. At this point I was thinking "wow that was really easy." I am not a computer person which is why I went to the store instead of doing an online purchase.... I get home and start my migration assistant, simple enough I thought. First message that comes up states that my new computer does not have enough space to migrate ... I try to pick and choose what I "truly need" but basically it will only allow me to migrate the apps and settings... I put all my personal stuff in the cloud, which I have to pay for storage now, and migrate what I can. Second issue being misinformation on the trade in program. I had run my serial number so I knew what to expect as far as price, yay online. The sales associate tells me that I simply ask for a trade in packet online and they will refund to my original purchase card. I ended up calling customer service to cancel the migration appointment I had set and asked her if she could mail me the trade in packet while I was on the phone. In this discussion I was told the refund would be in the form of an apple gift card.... um what? I explain what I had been told and she gets the manager, Michael, from the Flatirons store on the phone.... I now know where my sales associate got his training, or lack of, from. He simply talks down to me and helps by telling me I should return my purchase to the store for one with more memory, process my trade in before coming so I could use the gift card on the purchase (never mind I wouldn't have a computer to migrate if I did that) and basically tough crap on any grievances I have. Enjoy my gift card.... I avoid apple stores at all costs but this may be the last apple purchase I ever make because the benefits of the product do not outweigh the inconveniences of the company. read more

A former employee of mine will not release their work macbook from their icloud account so I took it into this store to remove the activation lock. Even with the original receipt, credit card for the purchase, identification showing I'm the one who bought it, and email showing applecare+ coverage they would not release the activation lock for me. This is the worst place to go to buy merchandise. The employees really don't seem to want to do their job and use Covid as an excuse to avoid you. The store in general is very loud and hard to hear during a normal conversation, now add a mask to that. The employee I was talking to while trying to get assistance to purchasing a laptop, was more interested in telling me to wear my mask correctly when I was pulling it away from my face so he could hear what I was saying. He told me " just read the cover screen. it has all the information you need." So the employees just rather stand around being useless and rude than actually assisting anyone. Such a waste of time. The employees should stay home and hide if they are so afraid of the world around them. Or maybe they just really suck at their job! I walked out and I'll purchase a laptop somewhere else. read more

Sometime after midnight I ordered an iPhone 11, with a delivery charge of $9.- the phone can be delivered about noon same day, sounds too good. Phone arrived via postmates from the Apple Store near me few hours later in a white paper bag with handle. While unpacking, i wondered why the foil of the new iPhone 11 box can be resealed(*); the Setup and Data Transfer from my old iPhone was so from easy, now give the phone a full charge you may think. Well, I could not, in the box was a charger with the USB lightning cable, it could not fit the new iPhone 11. Obviously my new phone is a open pack or it has been repacked(*) or refurbish. I have purchased a computer or two in my day, I assure you... I have purchased those computers from a variety of sources: major retailers, electronics specialty stores, even via an employee purchase program set up through Dell... I had been through the gambit as far as satisfaction went... Then, one day, I happened upon the Apple Store in the Flatirons Mall... The glowing white orb beckoning to me, taunting me, teasing me, tempting me as if I were a much chubbier, more testosterone enhanced Eve (with clothes on... I was at the mall)... I went into the store and was duly impressed. There were numerous stations set up for essentially all of their products, and it was basically a free for all. I give points to any company who allows their product to be "put through the ringer" so to speak, with such little control. It speaks to confidence with the quality of their product. The staff I encountered were all very knowledgeable, even if that meant having the knowledge of when it was time to find another associate who was more knowledgeable. Case in point, my friend, who is a pretty damn good guitarist, went to the store to ask about the recording capabilities and interface for recording digitally directly into their Garageband program. The initial associate gave it his best at trying to field the question, and was doing well, until the technical aspects became a bit too advanced. he then politely excused himself and produced another associate who was so knowledgeable of the program and recording he probably could have created it himself. Another instance involved a battery problem with the MacBook I purchased from them. I was able to bring it into the store and have the problem solved (replacement battery in this case) within five minutes, at no charge. My experiences at other Apple stores have been very similar. I am currently in the process of becoming an all Mac home, and I credit a huge portion of my desire to do that to the availability of quality customer service at the Apple Stores. read more

My friend needed a power adapter for her Macbook Pro. We were approached by a sales associate and after explaining to him what we needed, he gave a very puzzled look and ask what again what we needed. My friend then proceeded again in detail explained what she needed, including size, shape, model number. The employee then said ok and walked to the back of the store. Around 8 mins later he came back and handed her a charger for an iphone. I could see the frustration in her face when she said that this was not a power adapter for a Mac. He took the charger and walked back to the back of the store once more but not after being stopped by another customer. Around another 10 mins he comes back this time with the correct item. I happen to look at the item and it was about $100. I told her that while we were waiting I looked up the same item that she needed and I found the same thing online for $20 with free next day shipping.
