Fifteen minutes later she was still slowly working piece by tiny piece of her customer's hair with no end in sight. Although she apologized when I announced I could wait no longer, not a hint of explanation was given. Completely unprofessional to have so little regard for a customer's time. Also is it too much to set out something for customers to read since adhering to schedules is not in the cards? After a search I found a GQ by the shampoo stations, not of interest to this female. When you're that late you should at least provide an explanation or give a customer an update. Shame on Applauze. read more

I was in search of a new salon since moving to Colorado. Tried Alex at Applauze. I have blond hair that has been colored for over a year previously with beautiful results. I asked for the same as I currently had, just needed new foils and the growth colored. Alex foiled my hair and then put me under heat while she foiled another clients hair. The color turned out good. The highlights them self were a bit chunky and not blended evenly. Within the week I noticed my hair was very frizzy and dry. My hair continued to deteriorate in the next weeks despite my efforts to try to restore moisture. Eventually it stared breaking mid shaft. Was not at all pleased that they double booked clients on a color not knowing how long it would take. This appt was not cheap at all and now I'm left with damaged hair. read more

I had my hair cut and highlighted several times by Virginia. While most of the time I left with my hair looking better than when I walked in, there are a couple of issues that just can't be overlooked. When your hair is freshly cut, there shouldn't be ANY split ends, right? After each cut I noticed that nearly every hair on my head had a split end. I typically wash & blow dry my hair only 2-3 times per week, so I'm fairly confident that I wasn't over working my hair, besides, it was just cut. When I asked her when was the last time she sharpened her scissors, she didn't have an answer. Also, expect that unless you have scheduled only a hair cut, another appointment will be performed while you are under the dryer for your color to process. More often than not, you will waiting for her to finish this other appointment so that she can continue on with your appointment. So at this point you've now waited on Virginia twice during your visit - once because she was already running late when you arrived, and again because she double books. Hey, I'm all for multi-tasking and maximizing your bang for the buck, but in her case it simply seems to mean that your time is less important than hers. On my final appointment with her which was for a full highlight service, I asked if I could change it to a partial because I just didn't want to sit in the chair for that long on that particular day. Her response was that she was happy to do partial or full highlights, but I would be paying for a full highlight service as that's what I had booked, what she had planned, and she charges by the hour, not the service. I sincerely hope that attitude works out for her, but it didn't work out with me. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention, it's the kind of business that takes only cash and checks. ;) read more

I think I've finally found the haircut I was meant to have. I came in with a picture and was extremely nervous to cut so much off especially at a place I'd never been, but Christen reassured me it would look great and it did and still does. She styled it exactly how I wanted, paid attention to all the little details, like how I force my part to the side and not the middle, and made it look easy. I've never been able to replicate the fresh out of the salon look, but so far this cut looks great any way I wear it. I definitely recommend this salon and the owner, Christen! read more

The salon booked an appt for me in the wrong month. When I received the email confirmation with the error I called, explained and rescheduled for the correct month and date. Sure enough, a month later I got an appt. reminder text for the appt scheduled they'd scheduled incorrectly so I called and left a message at the salon reminding them that the appt should have already been cancelled, this was their error. I was never contacted by Christen or anyone from the salon but Christen did send me a $50 invoice the day before the appt. Needless to say, I'm done with Applauze Salon. I would give no stars. I received the worst haircut from Morgan yesterday. Being new to the salon I explain I have baby fine hair, it's short. I've been growing it out since February 28 because another person cut it too short. I just want my hair shaped. I show pictures of women with short hair but long layers. Morgan chopped my hair less than two inches from my scalp, this is in the back of my head, I can see my scalp completely. There is no way, no hair, to cover my scalp. There is no way to style this short of hair, I will have to cover with a hat or scarf. Terrible. read more

I found this salon on Yelp because I have been searching for a place closer to my house. Overall, I was looking for a stylist would could make my blonde hair look great and stay that way because I have an infant and no long have the time/energy/money to be visiting the salon every 6 weeks religiously. After looking at pictures on Yelp and Instagram, I booked with Morgan to get baylage highlights and so far I love how my hair turned out! At my appointment, I had the baylage highlights, a haircut and my eyebrows waxed and was in and out of the salon in less than two hours which I love! She is clearly very knowledgable and talented at what she does. They have an online booking service which is incredibly easy to use and I was able to book my appointment within a week. I'm terrible at planning ahead so being able to book a color appointment on a whim is something I need! The pricing is definitely reasonable. I've paid far more money for a result that couldn't even compare to this. As far as the salon goes, it's a very unassuming and low key environment. It would be easy to miss when driving by and the inside isn't flashy at all. But it's tastefully decorated and everyone is incredibly nice.
