This has become our go to Thai in the area. Their online ordering system is simple and easy to use. I like it here because they have more traditional Thai menu/flavors. The pad see ew is one of our favorites. You can tell when a pad see ew will be good when it's a good dark brown color and the noodles aren't too stuck together/clumped up. Another go to dish of mine is the crab fried rice, they do not skip out on the lump crab meat and it is affordable for its quality! This place is amazing at first experience! My fiancé and I got take out: shrimp phad thai and veggie fried rice. It was done fast and still hot when we got all the ways home. My rice was soooo good, fresh and I will order it again! His was to his liking, light spice (level 2) and a little sticky (or less saucy) and i didn't have time to take a picture he at the whole thing. Lol Also the staff was so friendly when we walked in. We got two orders of Pad See Ew, appetizer sampler, and Thai iced tea. All were perfect - the noodle dish was perfectly saucy. A hidden gem worth trying Hubby and I didnt know what we were in the mood floor so I yelped a few places and this one just sounded soo good! We pull up and it's a small little store front very cozy. We go inside and it's quiet and it smells sooo good..I could smell the basil and curry in the air....mmmm The waiter came over and filled our water glasses and we decided we were ready to order. We started with a mixed appetizer which consisted of two vegetable egg rolls, 2 cream cheese and crab filled wontons they called Giew Gob, two fried prawns, two pieces of fried tofu, and two prawn spring rolls with a side of yummy peanut sauce. For entrees we did the shrimp pad thai and the red curry with chicken accompanied by some very tasty brown rice. You can order white rice too for the record I prefer brown. The appetizer came super fast and it was delicious! I never care for fried tofu but it too was very good. The spring rolls were rolled tight the way you'd expect a good spring roll to be and was just enough. All in all a very good appetizer. About 5 minutes later our entrees arrived.. yum! The smell alone made me wanna do a jiggy dance...:-) I took some pad thai and a piece of the grilled shrimp together In one harmonious bite. Heaven guys...just pure heaven...if my taste buds could talk they would have thanked me! The brown rice cooked perfectly and the curry....wow! Full of flavor and the creamy coconut with all those wonderful Thai spices hit the spot! This is going to be one of those places we'll have to make a staple whenever we return for visits. Yummy! :) Got a take out order for lunch today. Co-worker asked me to run some errands for him on my break and in return he'd buy me lunch. He said Jack in the Box, but I just wasn't feelin it. I recalled he said he liked Thai food, so onto Yelp I went! I was downtown Puyallup and searched for "thai" nearby. Up popped Appetizing Thai Food! So I called in my order and headed down to River Road! Kinda hard to make a left turn into that lot with all the traffic, so I went up a little further to a less busy area and flipped a U-ey. Don't tell! Got there, parked, and in I went. It was super tiny in there! Kind of dark... They were blasting 106.1 or 92.5. Made me giggle. My order was already ready for me. I was impressed! The girl who rang me up was a total sweetheart! I was in and out in less than 3 minutes! On my way back to the office I checked out our orders. I had ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Pad See Ew (both #5 on spiciness.) The top box was Chicken Pad See Ew. Check out my photo! It was BEAUTIFUL! I fell in love and decided that I HAD to have it. Sorry bud... So he got the Chicken Pad Thai. Sorry... no photo. I stole a bite at a stop light. HAHA! Don't tell! It was DELICIOUS! Ordered takeout from here tonight. Got the Chicken Pad Thai (3stars) and chicken Panang Curry (3stars). The pad thai was a little spicier than I would have liked, but delicious nevertheless. The Panang curry was amazing. I will definitely be ordering that again! Portions were very large, I have a lot left over. Service was incredibly quick- my order was ready in 10 minutes! Best Thai restaurant in puyallup. The ingredients are all very fresh and the staff is always friendly. The pad ki mao is my favorite.

Ample parking and the interior was cozy but not tight. There were maybe 10-12 tables for patrons. We were greeted with a smile and told to sit wherever we wanted (we arrived shortly after 1 pm and there were a lot of empty tables). We were looking over their main & lunch menu when they brought out a small soup for each of us. The jury is still out about the soup. I couldn't make out what was in it and the flavor was ok but there was an aftertaste after each sip. The soup had cilantro in it and I'm not sure if it was fish or oyster sauce but I didn't finish it. It wasn't bad but not, OMG this is yum. I had their combo 1. Red chicken curry, phad thai, and brown rice. I also ordered a thai iced tea. It was pretty good. Good flavor and it did taste like the 4 star heat I requested. I was excited to try a new Thai place close to my work, and they had my food there at the front waiting for me when I arrived which was nice (as I ordered it online as take-out/pick up). I thought the portion was a little small for how much I paid. But anyways..I ordered the Garlic Chicken and it was suppose to come with sauce, but what I got was a VERY watered down. I was super bummed, because I love sauce with my dishes, but this stuff wasn't sauce. It was extremely runny. I literally poured in the whole thing of rice which I ordered as a side, hoping it would soak it up and it STILL was extremely runny and tasted like flavored water. The airflow during the Summer kinda sucks because of the shotgun build of the place, so it gets a little hot even with the door cracked open. Service is great, if a little disorganized. Food was delicious, not absolutely authentic but for being the location it is, it was great quality. Service was nice. They seem to do a lot of take out orders and even closed the restaurant for a while to prepare a large to go order. I made it inside at just the right time. I use to come here often and liked the food but I stop coming for over a year because the service was just terrible. I often did pick up orders and many times my order was not done, there was a mistake (my order was given to someone else), and most commonly, I'm missing stuff (e.g peanut sauce for my shrimp rolls! (How??)). It was that last straw I stoped ordering from here and realized it just went downhill and no matter if the food was good, it should never compromise the services. Fast forward to today.. I'm craving shrimp rolls and good peanut sauce, which I've always liked from here. I see a lot of yelp review that Appethaizing was now under new management and the restaurant was renovated. I decided to give the place another chance since its new management and I'm glad I did. Okay, I was unsure about trying this place out as I thought the name was kinda cheesy. Lol! Well, I'm glad I finally did. My daughter's drivers ed class was next door, and we were hungry and craving Thai food so we decided to try it out. The food is VERY delicious and super authentic! I wish more people knew about this place/frequented it more. I guess it wouldn't make too much of a difference as the establishment is very small. It's actually pretty cramped in there. The only thing I don't love about the food is the fact that they don't offer sticky rice to eat with your meal. It's a shame as sticky rice is a staple in Thai cuisine. I love to eat it with curries and spicy papaya salad. All in all, we like to frequent this restaurant when we can. The Tom Ka soup is one of our favorites! read more
