I've been going to Global Mall for years for threading and tinting but I will now go to Appearances Salon. Honesty, I only knew about it cause I got a Groupon deal. However, their regular prices are comparable to Global Mall's. Appearances Salon is located in the Publix plaza off Rockbridge Road and Lawrenceville Highway across the street from the gorgeous BAPS Hindu temple. If facing Publix, it is on the left hand side. There are more retailers farther back on the left side too but towards the back more. I was greeted right away when walking in and was worked on quickly. It didn't take long for the whole process. The lady who threaded and tinted my brows told me she used to work at Global Mall. Honestly, this is the best tint job I've ever gotten. The quality of the product they use is on point. Aliza is amazing! Today was the second time I had a full face wax and eyebrows threaded. I have gone to different places, like the Global Mall, Magical Waxing, and the Eyebrows Beauty Bar Salon & Spa. I have left upset from all of those salons mentioned above. honestly don't know the lady's name but she did my hair once at this point and it was good but i asked for a totally different hair style and she just went with whatever she thought suited me. she basically just did what SHE thought was better but not what I WANTED. hair still came out nice. i come back again and i come a few minutes before the appointment time and the same lady is late. 30 minutes late. lady was passive aggressive the other time too. she would criticize my hair even after i told her my hair wasn't in the best condition, I feel insecure about anything of myself so it made me feel self conscious. she's the only lady who does hair there, she's good at hair but she's not professional nor nice. the other lady who's looks thin doesn't do anything around there & she just walks around talking on the phone, same with the lady who does hair- she just takes calls whilst doing my hair & i don't mind but it's not professional ontop of her being disrespectful. if you want good hair but poor customer service then be their guest i guess read more

I have been going to Aliza since December for my facials and eyebrow threadings. She never disappoints. I have very sensitive skin and dry skin and her products work perfect for me. They don't dry me out and I see a major difference after each session. She is very gentle, passionate, and caring with her customers. Regardless of the traffic that's coming in/out of the shop she still somehow manages to make you feel like you are the only one and attends to your every need. This place is amazing! It really deserves more good reviews, I got a groupon for an eyebrow tint and threading and my technician did a phenomenal job. She paid close attention to the fine details of my brows, and even helped reshape one that was botched in a minor temple surgery I had a few years ago (you can see how one eyebrow is different in the photo I attached). I also got a facial, and I have never had a better face massage in my life. My skin feels amazing and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I went to this salon with my friend and and we left with uneven eyebrows as well as my friend having a whole dilemma with waxing her upper lip. First off the lady put too much wax on my friends face and the strips are very poorly used. She tried to wax her lip but instead, the strips stuck to the pre-applied wax on her lips. Also her eyebrows are uneven and unpresentable. She tried to tell the eyebrow tech what to take off and how exactly she wanted it but the eyebrow tech had no clue on what to do. She did a very horrible job with a burned upper lip and uneven eyebrows and the eyebrow tech seemed very unconfident and unsure on how much to take off and it shows. My friend repeatedly asked to work on one specific eyebrow that needed help but instead the eyebrow tech just worked on the non-requested eyebrow the entire time. She also say that my friend deals with very severe dry skin on her eyelids so she just applied some random lotion to her eyelids. (You cannot just put whatever product on sensitive skin keep that in mind folks) What a waste of time and money. However she did do a decent job on the right eyebrow but still waste of $11.50. I gave a tip because I felt bad for her poorly efficient hands . If you are reading this please go see my normal eyebrow tech at Hair Images in Decatur, Ga. Her name is Sana and she'll do you right in two minutes....unlike the 25 minutes I wasted today. read more
