It looked like a perfect combination of rustic and classy, and totally relaxing. We only stayed here for one night, but it was a great night. The inn keepers are very friendly and welcomed us with open arms. Our room was small, but sufficient, with a fireplace and a balcony overlooking the lake. There is not much to do in the town of Cornucopia, which is about 20 minutes from Bayfield, but there are a few nice hikes near the B&B, or you can just relax on your balcony. I would recommend stopping by Siskiwit Falls, which is very close to the B&B. Bruce and Sandy serve breakfast at 8:30 am. Everything is homemade using local ingredients. On the day we were there, they served a quiche with sausage and wild rice, apple spic muffins and fruit. One thing to know, they do not accept credit cards! Make sure you have enough cash or your check book to pay for your room.

They've been around a while, or the cabins wouldn't be so close to the water. You couldn't build a resort so close to the shore nowadays. But way back when, Bob (yes, there was a Bob) built these small, humble, unassuming little pieces of paradise, and you get to enjoy them. The website is clear: the cabins are clean, spare, with some couches and/or easy chairs depending on the cabin, with a simple but entirely adequate kitchen. Really, it's all about the lake. You get to be right on Lake Superior, whether it's glassy or roaring, and you get to take it all in. As luck would have it, the owners are charming as well, friendly and easily available. My only reluctance in writing this review is that it make it harder to make a reservation. It's that good.

The furniture in the front room of Maggie Suite is tired, small couch is actually a hide-and-bed. The bed was too hard for me, but it could be wonderful for you. For a 2 night stay, we were gifted 2 bottles of water in the refrigerator. The breakfast buffet was my biggest disappointment, for $240/night I was really looking forward to the breakfast and sadly really disappointed. It simply wasn't worth the price and I felt gypped. I grew up going to Bayfield with my family, so being there during such a meaningful time in my life and sharing it with the people I love most meant the world to me (especially at such a special home). We rented the entire house, which was absolutely perfect for our situation. The charm and history of the home completely wowed my girlfriends--it's truly a one-of-a-kind place. Bayfield is already such a magical town, but staying at Queens View made the experience even more unforgettable. This beautiful home will always hold a special place in my heart, and I can't wait to come back! Ps... if you visit you have to stop by Wildrice Retreat as well for peak relaxation and restoration

Cons: Very high price compared to most lodging options in the area. Bed mattress is very firm. There is a thin layer of pillow top, but it is well broken down. I had a back ache both early mornings, waking up well before I wanted to. The ironing board is one of those mini ones with a dirty old cover. Although there were wine glasses, there was no cork screw in the room. Although there are big candles in the bathroom there is no matches provided to light them. The s'mores kit we were provided had stale marshmallows. One of the bathroom sink bowls had some kind of unsightly chemical damage. In-room TV is small (20") and low quality. Refrigerator froze our milk solid. I'd be fine with the issues of this place, if the price was lower. For the price they are charging, none of these cons should exist.

Overall, I would stay here again. I love Two Harbors and the entire area. It's much better than going to Lake Tahoe bc there's little to no traffic & Lake Superior is the biggest freshwater lake in America.

Each morning, the owner/hostess brings a lovely breakfast in a basket for you to eat in your room. The $140 (incl. tax) seems a bit steep, but the setting and the breakfast are definite pluses. And the closest town, Bayfield (about 30 minutes away) has simiar prices as well as substantially higher ones (e.g., The Rittenhouse Inn). It's a great location for hiking, birdwatching, otter spotting (we saw one) and bear and Northern Lights glimpsing (which we didn't see). Duluth is about 70 miles Northwest and the Red Cliff Reservation (Ojibwe) with a casino is about 20 minutes away. The TV does not have cable. There is a refrigerator in the room.

This Inn sparkles with cleanliness! I notice details like baseboards, corners and shelves. Each railcar is decorated in a different theme. We stayed in the newly appointed Lighthouse Room. The lamps were shaped like lighthouses, the room was tastefully decorated with Lighthouse pictures and memorabilia, and the hallway that connects each railcar was built reminiscent of a rail yard and train station. When I called to make the reservation. I actually spoke with one of the owners. Cindy. She was personable and friendly. She is the epitome of a fantastic bed& breakfast-type Innkeeper. We met her at the Inn and she was funny and very welcoming. The food was good. They had your typical fare offered at most hotels. The only reason they didn't get a 5 star rating from me is I feel like they could develop a "trademark item" with their breakfast to go with the theme as well. The location is perfect for a quiet weekend or even a Northshore vacation. It's nestled in the wilderness and just a very short ride to Lake Superior.
