Hmmm for $250 a night... the water park is more geared to kids. There is a big hot tub but no sauna. We waited more than 5 minutes for someone to show up to check us in and there was another group that had been waiting at least 5 minutes before we got there. Grabbed the ice bucket to get some ice for my coke.... No plastic bag and they hadn't even emptied the water out of it from the last guest. Ordered a 16 " pizza with a thick crust for an extra $2, I got a thin crust and when I went back to ask they admitted it was a thin crust because they were out of thick crust. He asked if I wanted my $2 bucks back... like really when they took the order they knew thick crust wasn't available. I wasn't going to quibble, I took my $2 and ate the sales tax. Front desk knew at check in it was my wife, 17 year old and me. Room only carries 2 bath towels standard so I guess I will be back asking for a 3rd towel. If you read this long you probably get that I am not impressed with the service. On a positive note the room is really spacious and the breakfast buffet is complimentary but overall a disappointment for a $$250 a night room. EDIT: the Wi-Fi is so pathetic a 90 second facebook reel needs to buffer 2-3 times for a 2 night stay housekeeping doesn't show up to at least change out dirty bathroom linens. I've never been in a place, even cheap places where they didn't at minimum make the beds and change out used bathroom linens. read more

The hotel is very outdated. The 2 bedroom suites are laid out really weird. The water park is decent for what it is.

The hotel is dirty all around, and smells horrible! People are very loud, and it the joint balcony not user friendly as people were using drugs on them. I'm sure it's great if you are bringing kids here to use the water park (extra fees), but if not I think it's a little expensive and nothing special. The halls are kind of like walking in a maze and you'll likely need either the stairs or elevator a lot. Lobby is on the third floor. First floor feels like your in a cave with lousy cell phone service. The bed was comfortable and the room was surprisingly quiet for the size of the building. We loved this place! I brought a family of six here for three days. Our room was clean, and the sinks and showers were new in our unit. I wish I had taken pictures but it just never crossed my mind. Honestly, had I seen the reviews before going, I don't think we would've booked it. The waterpark is why we chose them. And for us everything was great. The room was clean as mentioned. The food was good. And the waterpark was great fun! I also liked the location of the place as it seemed to be located in an area where we were close to other stuff in the city. We're not from Duluth so to me it seemed convenient at least. I wanted to thank the staff. EVERY single person we interacted with and met was AMAZING! The front desk staff; Awesome! The lifeguards; Awesome! The Arcade staff and Food service staff; Awesome! I worked in hospitality for years and this crew they had during our stay was nothing but amazing! Dirty sheets, Dirty curtains, Dirty picture frames, plugs that dont work, lifeguards who did nothing but watched rowdy kids almost run my kid over in the pool, cold water in the kids water area, broken water fountains in the kids water area, and the food place in the pool area being sneaky about leaving tips (saying cc charges can't be done with a tip). Don't get this place confused with Canal Park Lodge like I did. You can certainly walk to canal park area a pool my the lake walk but it's like 2.5 miles one way. If you have little kids that's not gonna happen! However, Perkins, Circle K. Blackwoods restaurant & Dunn Brothers are within close walking distance. I was not impressed upon entering the lobby at 4pm on a Thursday of MEA weekend - only 1 person working the front desk one would think they'd have more staff available around checkin time. The room left much to be desired. It smelled old (kind of like cigarette smoke but not quite), the furniture was old oak stuff from the 90s, semi private balcony (semi because there is no privacy wall to separate you from the next room over), railing rusty, but the chairs & end table were that weatherproof resin type material. Also the road noise was pretty loud - not Edgewater's fault but I was surprised. I found it odd that the waterpark had such limited hours and then they didn't really monitor the wristbands they make you wear. The breakfast on 4th floor was ok on 1 of our 3 mornings with eggs, sausage, assorted muffins, cereal, yogurt, Folgers etc. The other two days it was biscuits and gravy and lukewarm eggs. Thankful it was offered but for how much a room costs you think they would have better quality food. The hot tub outside was dirty (can't believe people were using it) and honestly the whole property needs to be renovated. I'm not sure I'd choose to stay here again. read more

This is like the Walmart of waterparks - you never know what kind of "deal" (or service) you're going to get. . I am going to guess Edgewater has the market for indoor water parks in the area - hence the reason they can have such sub-par offerings and still be in business. . I am also going to guess 30 years ago this was the place to be. . From the prior reviews - you can assume these guys are doing the bear minimum and it shows. I have personally gotten mostly dirty sheets (they are white for a reason - #bleach ???), trashed aren't emptied often, crap on the floors and porch, smoke smells, and the pools look like they aren't cleaned often. . So if you're going to take a chance ... set your bar really low - and maybe bring shower shoes to wear nonstop. . Best of luck with your stay and happy swimming. read more

GOLDEN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION FOR A 7 YR OLD! Well, the 7 kids had a grand time. The 10 adults, not so much. This was our 1st time here. Our check in went ok, but there was only 1 gal at the front desk and she was overwhelmed answering the phone and dealing with people. When I went down there couple times with questions, I was answered curtly and not in a friendly manner. Our room was clean enough, and only found a crumb in the microwave. No coffee pot in room!!! Lord help me! Bear in mind, I am now over 70 and need a boost right when I get up! I might add that I am retired from the hospitality business, so I might be a little more critical! Our kids were 4yrs to 12 yrs, and they thought the waterpark was awesome. I will say, the Food Service staff in the waterpark was outstanding. We needed a knife to cut our Birthday Cake, and plates. While they were not allowed to let a metal knife leave the kitchen, understandable, they immediately provided me with paper plates and plastic ware and napkins. With a smile! Also, they offered to carve the cake if we brought it down to them! POINTS! As adults, we were not thrilled with the quality of the food, or the waterpark itself. It felt grubby. Old and Grubby. The lifeguards did their job, but were sooooo unfriendly, and rude to the kids. I probably would be too, with all the commotion!. Oh wait, I have been a lifeguard at a summer camp, years ago. Made a non-refundable reservation for a Wednesday night the beginning of May. Then I looked at the yelp reviews... Oops! But it actually turned out better than I thought after reading about everyone's terrible experiences. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a two room suite! Yay! The lake view from the window and balcony were great! The Bath & Body bathroom products were a surprise. Rooms were clean, beds comfy. Both rooms had TV's. Workout room overlooks the lake which is a bonus. Didn't try the restaurant or breakfast. The waterpark was quiet as it was a Wednesday night before school was out. No complaints. Lifeguard staff was still super vigilant. Not a fan of water park hotels, but this one did the trick for husbo and me. FYI our room was in the Tower. just came here for 2 nights with my father and sister. our room had a great view of the lake and decent amenities, but the vibe and decor was very tacky and cold. there were only a few pillows and even a hair or two which is nice i guess. also saw a weird stain on the sheets-- gross. waterpark hours are absolutely absurd, planned to go but didn't realize it was 8-10am on mondays. arcade was closed and there was no information provided about hours. i don't want to go back there, find somewhere better. read more

I enjoyed my time here! Booked a room in the Tiki suite, with 2 bunk beds, one pull out bed and a king size bed. I expected the room to look a bit more child-friendly, with cartoon characters or a theme. But it was pretty plain. Our view was great, we overlooked the pool area! The bathroom had a lot of icky grime in the shower which was pretty gross. I paid $420 for two nights, 8 wristbands included which was pretty great, but it just wasn't worth the money I spent for the rooms especially since I supposedly got a good discount on them. The staff were pretty nice and well informed on questions I had. I loved the pool area and the music that they played, and my children all had fun. Probably won't be spending a lot of money on a suite that wasn't so great, when I could get a small room for a cheaper price that would probably be in the same condition. read more

We never ventured to the waterpark, so I'm only reviewing the hotel portion of the resort. Our suite was clean on the surface, but upon closer inspection everything was sticky, dirty, and gross. Disgusting! I cannot believe how much they charge for these rooms, yet how filthy they are! Toe nails! Yes TOE NAILS! Absolutely disgusting, and not just a few, but a pile of them! Manager was too busy (10:00 pm) to come and see. She offered to switch rooms (yet just a few hours earlier they were completely booked) so now my fireplace/jacuzzi room was to be switched to 2 queens. On top of the disgusting toe nails there was hair and soap scum in the jacuzzi (that did not produce hot water). What an absolute disappointment! When I asked the manager how something like this could happen she simply said house keeping must have missed it. So matter of factly like it must happen all the time. No apologies, nothing. I really did not want to switch to another room, it was late I was frustrated...I justed wanted them to vaccuum it up so we could go to bed. AN HOUR LATER THEY CAME TO VACCUUM! AN HOUR! I'm incredibly disappointed!! I booked this room before reading reviews and the room itself prompted me to come back and look if it was a problem for others. We paid $350 plus tax/fees $420. We were excited when we saw the outdoor pool, mini golf and basketball court. The water park area looked nice but was very hot and muggy. Then our room. Dirty, food ground into the carpet, our patio had empty chip wrappers, crackers, unidentifiable food all over. The hotel is very dated and for being way more expensive than others we have stayed at it is 10x worse!! Rooms are small, hot even with air at 61 and it's probably 70 degrees outside. Rooms are dark, walls and furniture totally beat up. Bathrooms are gross!!!! Hair on the floor, clearly not swept or vacuumed. I could go on but do not waster your money!!! We moved here for our last night of vacation and like I said I wanna cry. Or go home. Will never stay here again. read more

My mom and I stayed here a few weeks back for a long weekend and it was pretty awful. Let me start by saying that we've been coming here for about 20 years now every Summer, and it's slowly been going down hill, but this time was the absolute worst, and if they don't change, we will not be returning. I'll start by saying that the girl at the front desk wasn't welcoming at all. Which is fine, I can get over that. Next, after getting into our room, we tried turning the on the TV and it didn't work. Kind of a bummer, but new batteries from the front desk did the trick. So far though, not exactly a great experience. Then comes the worst part- our room looked pretty disgusting. The carpet feels like it's been saturated with carpet cleaner without being rinsed, so you feel a film on your feet. The light switch for the bathroom was straight up nasty- caked in dirt. The side of the air conditioner where it meets the carpet was black with splatters and drips from who-knows-what, and the carpet was torn in that corner and filled with dust. Above the bathroom mirror were dried drips from some sort of liquid. Pictures of all this are included in this post. With that being said, however, the beds seemed clean, which we were thankful for. Outside of the hotel room are two chairs- great! However the sidewalk where you walk and sit was cracked with gouging holes- easily a tripping hazard. And the ceiling above the door was bubbled and cracked and looked gross (also in attached pictures). So yeah, not really a paradise of a place. One last thing- we went up to the bar to get drinks and wanted to play foosball, which we didn't end up playing because turns out we need to PAY to use the balls. As if they weren't getting enough of our money already. It's not a big deal, but just kind of the principle of the thing. Considering what they charge to stay here for the summer, it needs extreme repairs. It's gotten pretty dumpy. We'll spend the extra couple bucks and stay somewhere nicer next time because it's worth it. .....Just found out that they over charged us $70 too. Almost a yearly tradition for my family, the Edgewater Resort is a nice escape to a tropical climate when it is actually below zero outside in the heart of a Minnesota winter. We mainly come here for the waterpark. The waterpark has a nice selection fo things to do. There is a large hot tub for heating up, a lazy river, kiddie pool area, activity pool, and a few slides. You can also grab food and drinks while at the pool. The hotel also has an outdoor pool and hot tub as well as a mini golf course. Oh and don't forget the coffee shop as well. If you are lucky enough to score a balcony room, you can get great views of Lake Superior and downtown Duluth. The hotel is pretty close to famous attractions in Duluth like Canal Park and the Glensheen Mansion, as well as an assortment of parks and beaches making it a great place to set up camp. read more

Carpet and wallpaper was torn. Drapes were stained and bathroom hadn't been entirely cleaned. Grime on the tiles in the shower, and something in the creases of the throne. Fridge froze all of our food overnight, and the toilet ran. We also had to go outside in the winter to get to and from the water park. No breakfast included, but a buffet that cost about 8 bucks per adult. If it would have been free it would have been okay, for an additional cost it isn't worth it. The food was subpar and all the cups for coffee were dirty. We lived in Duluth when EdgeWater was built and because of the price I always assumed it was a nice hotel, I was very disappointed with our first and last stay. read more

Good news first: I had a good nights sleep, the beds are nice, I had a choice of fluffy feather a pillow or firm pillow. Great view of Lake Superior. There were two tvs in the suite, a coffee maker, fridge, it was clean. We accepted the "maid will not come in your room green offer" so they awarded us $10 to spend in their restaurant. Also because we needed towels, coffee, and toilet paper we called and 15 minutes later all were delivered. They even traded out the caffeinated coffee for decaf. The waterpark kept an 11-year-old and two 13-year-olds happy for 3 1/2 hours while the parents got to sit and talk or read. They were plenty of lifeguards wondering about. Bad news: It's in need of a renovation, and deep cleaning, and the parking lot is terrible. They need more staffing for the waterpark which needed garbage picked up and towels picked up. Waterpark was completely out of clean towels so my son had to use my husband's shirt to get dry. The bathroom was a wet dirty mess with only two regular stalls. The hot tub was overflowing with masses of humanity. My son put his wristband for the waterpark on too tight and they had to wait for about 20 minutes to get a new one. No breakfast included. It was $411 for two nights in the suite, and that was the nonrefundable cheapest available rate. I guess you just expect a little bit more since you're in a smaller locale and not Boston or something. read more

I came here with my 14 year old son and his friend. Negatives:The layout of this hotel is quite strange. You have to take stairs to your room. We had mold in our bathroom and I didn't want to take my shoes off when I got to our room. There was missing grout in our tile. It's next to the freeway so you get traffic noise. No towels in pool area. Positive: the kids enjoyed the arcade and the water park. I would say the water park is more geared for younger kids. We had a lake view and I were able to see the sunrise. Nice to have balconies. I wouldn't be back. Even with all the amenities, it's not worth if it the rooms are not kept up. read more

Guys...guys? No, just a big no! We have 4 kids...yes 4. So planning a trip is a pain in the a$$ when it comes to hotels. We have been wanting to "test the waters" and take a short vacation with our little animals so we decided why not Duluth? Imagine finding a hotel with a perfect room, but a water park to boot! Heck yeah! Kids were excited, I was excited...husband was not excited at the price but ‍ Being the awesome Yelper that I am I didn't check the reviews... yeah, that was mistake number one. Don't worry...yelp karma bit me really good. We check in and the staff is freakin wonderful, seriously super friendly and lots of info. We get to our room and while it is nothing like the pictures we were already there so we decided to make the best of it. Seemed clean enough. We go to the water park and it is pretty awesome for a little hotel water park. Kids had a blast! It's actually quite clean and well maintained. Just a side note...pretty sure all the little kids use the baby slide as a bathroom. That water got in my mouth and it was...salty. We get back to our room and notice it's pretty hot and humid. We also ordered a pack n play for our baby and that wasn't there. I call down and they said they would send someone up to remedy the situation. We leave for dinner. We get back from dinner and now room is really hot and still no pack n play. I call back to the desk and same kid says they will take care of it. Around 8pm kids are getting restless and room is getting hotter..still no word. I tell husband I'm going to the front desk...husband looks worried for the front desk staff because I'm irritated. I get to the front desk and the young man tells me "Sorry, we are out of pack n plays and your ac can't be fixed." What!?! I asked for a pack n play like 5 hours ago...and you are just now telling me this? Oh and you guys knew when we checked in that the ac wasn't working? That's great! Manager comes out and offers me $50 off a night if we stay with the broken ac. Seriously? I'm paying $$325 a night so $275 a night to stay in a room with no ac and no crib for the baby? That is ridiculous! He offers to call around and find us a new hotel. We finally get a different hotel ...last one in the entire city that has a room for us..Suites is amazing btw! We get over there and are ready to check in with 4 crabby sleepy kids who are totally done with this trip at this point. Card is declined! Edgewater had a massive hold on our debit card! Luckily the other hotel went above and beyond after hearing we were 3.5 hours from home with 3 sleepy kids and a baby. The Suites at Waterfront are amazing. I would never in a million years attempt a stay at Edgewater again. We will be back to Duluth but will be staying elsewhere. What should have been a 4 day trip was cut down to one night because of the hold on accounts and general disaster that Edgewater created. read more

The room was their cheapest and was offered on special. It's in the older, detached building. Our room number was 2112, so the Rush fan in me was pretty stoked, but the stokedness ended right about there. Our room had torn wallpaper, a loose towel rack in the bathroom, orange mildew forming in the corners of the tub and grout, and the bathroom lock didn't lock. The stopper in the bathroom sink was missing, so I'm glad I didn't drop anything important down the drain. That would have added insult to injury. Oh, and the towel hook on the bathroom door fell off. The WiFi didn't work in our building either. The water park is okay, but not worth the price you pay for everything else. The breakfast buffet is half the price you'd pay elsewhere because the food is only half as good. We did have a decent view of the lake, but...well...that's no consolation. This has been a learning experience. We'll stay elsewhere next time we visit Duluth. read more

I would have given my stay a one star but since the staff was nice and my kids love the water park (mind you they love ALL water parks) I bumped it up to a two. We've stayed here previously and didn't have any issues. Last time we visited, the rooms were dated but it was a decent stay. Unfortunately, I can't say that this time around. The room we stayed in was the main building and which was updated (I think) from when we previously stayed. The room I thought was clean until I saw the ripped chair, cobwebs, a nasty stain on the curtain, a gross stain on the wall, dingy carpet, and grout in the bathroom was dirty. I don't blame housekeeping since they have tons of rooms to clean but management should provide extra help for housekeeping or find a time for them to do a "deep cleaning" monthly. The bunkbeds were okay except they had those zip on fitted sheets with what I'm sure they call a blanket and pillow. There was one extra blanket provided was scratchy. We called for another blanket and more pillows. Unfortunately that blanket was like the one in the room old and scratchy too. The water park was fun for the kids despite being cold. We stayed three days and I felt like they took turns which area would get somewhat heated for the day: first day the water playground, second the activity water area, and third was the lazy river. It's no wonder the hot tub was filled with kids. Hell I brought my kids in there to warm up since it was so cold in all the other places. It was frustrating to pay all that money for all that yuck. In addition they only give $2 worth of tokens for the arcade. C'mon, you can't even dish out five bucks? And the drink tokens *rolling eyes* with one token you can buy one for the price of a small or with two buy a specialty and get a free black coffee. Would it kill ya to give a free drink without having to buy anything especially with all the money we paid! The staff we came in contact with were nice from the front desk, housekeeping, arcade, to maintenance. That's about all I got for saying anything nice. read more

I booked this hotel for my family vacation. We traveled a long way to be SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED. When when we entered our room, the first thing I saw was a screw on the ground. Like what? It was a part of the door lock. Beds are uncomfortable and blankets are so scratchy. My main issue was the water park. As a mom of two young kids, we were so excited to play and swim. When we went there, the passes we bought were THE WRONG COLOR. The front desk gave us the wrong color wristband for my kids. The lifeguard insinuated that we were THIEVES. Luckily, the front desk was super nice and changed them out. Which I give them kudos for that. We went back to the water park to find nobody checking wristbands. Which by the way, you have to pay extra to use. Even if you aren't swimming and just want to buy the food from the restaurant, you have to buy a pass to even go in there. When we went in the kiddos (not saying ages but one elementary and one middle school aged). Immediately, they went to the tube slide. THE TUBES WERE EVERYWHERE. There was a lifeguard completely ignoring the walking hazard. I might sound dramatic, but 2 young girls decided to help out by putting them away because they WANTED to. The lifeguards let pre-teen girls do their job for them. The lifeguards were completely incompetent. I'm pretty sure half of them didn't even look at the water and just walked their "route". Another lifeguard kept yelling at kids playing water basketball to stop touching the rim. I'm sorry but isn't the point of pool basketball to dunk?! The bathrooms (albeit I only went in the women's) was filthy. So much dirt and toilet paper. My husband says the men's was the same. The bucket that fills up with water took wayyyyy too long to fill. I know that's not an important detail but the "bell" that signifies that it's full rang for 7 minutes before it poured out. There was a bandaid found in the whirlpool. A used bandaid. All they did was fish it out and let people back in. I've seen pools that stops the entire pool to fish it out and make everyone stop swimming to decontaminate. Their was some young kids struggling to swim that the lifeguards completely ignored and the PARENTS had to go help them. The whole hotel was understaffed which I get, staffing issues are hard, but it's extremely frustrating when you need something and you have to wait for the one of 10 employees (exaggerated) to come and help you. The outdoor pool was also DISGUSTING and the hot tub was subpar. It looked like someone "pooped in it" as my youngest would say. I've never left a hotel a 1/5 review, but this hotel takes the cake for being the worst hotel I've ever been to. I wish I could give it 0/5. read more

From the wallpaper peeling off the walls, torn carpet, dirty tile in the bathroom, cobwebs all over, an outlet by the sink that did not even work. And the toilet in the bathroom was even installed crooked, how does that even happen? We will never be back. My family stayed at this hotel while in town for a hockey tournament. Our experience was not exactly pleasant. First, the good points. The customer service at check-in, and even while making reservations, was quite good. The agents took time to answer questions and were very polite, even though it was a busy time of day. Obviously, the attraction to this place is the water park. It's a great place to bring a group of kids, and the bar/lounge by the water park do a nice job of catering to the parents. Our room at this hotel was in the "classic" section of the facility, and our experience here was not good. We were upstairs, and there was no outside window to our room (the windows in the room led into the interior hallway). The hotel did think to place a portable heater/air conditioner/fan in the room, but that was loud and we could only use it for short periods of time. When we first turned on the faucets in the bathroom, the water came out brown. We had to let the water run a minute or so before it cleared, but it still left us feeling uneasy. The beds were a little hard, and there was a red stain on the carpet that we hope was ink. Overall, I would say this is a tolerable place to stay if you're looking to take kids to the waterpark (the rooms in the main building are not great, but they're a little better than the part of the hotel we were in). If you're just looking for a hotel stay, there are so many other nice hotels in Duluth that are well kept. read more

You guys- I just entertained four middle school aged kids and myself on NYE night for $200! I read the reviews of others before I book and almost changed my serration. Our room was clean,enough towels at water park- my navicular needs are met. This place s a great value. And- receives two tokens for free drinks at the bar or the coffee shop. Wow. My 3rd visit and 3rd unpleasant visit here in about 5 years. Why do I go ? Well, I have kids and there is a waterpark. Although it definitely needs some updating and cleaning the waterpark I the ONLY thing remotely good about this place. I'll spare everyone a 7 page review and just tell you about my last stay (just checked out this am). Rooms are old, very outdated and not thoroughly cleaned. Our toilet had an issues right away when we arrived, it wouldn't stop running. We had maintenance out twice and still was never fixed - we learned how to set the handle JUST SO, so we didn't have to listen to it anymore. On our final night when it wouldn't flush with 14 hours left in our stay they offered to switch us to a DOWNGRADED ROOM. I really didn't feel like packing up my family to move them just to do it again in the morning. So I declined the not so generous offer. On the morning of checkout I got up and proceeded to shower before the rest of the family started stirring - when I came out the fam was awoken by the fire alarms! Now I realize and don't hold edgewater entirely responsible for this in itself but as we are scrambling to put clothes on trying not to freak our little kids out, we tried to exit the room and the entire door handle fell right off in my hand! While I was confident that this alarm was false it didn't stop my children from feeling like they were in a horror film at the sound of the screeching alarm and the door handle in my hand with no way to get out. Other things : Cleaning service: I heard they offer a credit to you room to opt out of cleaning, I was not offered it, I didn't not receive it and put room was never cleaned at all. hard water- terrible after being in a chlorinated waterpark all day. Shower curtains - not long enough for the shower, it's was almost Impossible to shower without flooding the bathroom. Bar - there is one bar, Rinky dink bar. One bartender with lines of 20 people. Everyone felt terrible for her both night I stopped up for a drink. Food - only food 1/2 way decent is the pizza (from what i heard), the water park food is o.k. And breakfast buffet is really just terrible (unless your 3). Elevators - there is something wrong with their elevators and they know it, they don't allow you to pick your floor as they stop at every one anyway - super annoying and slow. I mentioned it to an employee and she laughed and said they've been asking for it fixed forever. Keys- 1 out of 2 of our keys never worked. I got a replacement and they didn't either. The other took swiping it like 10 times to get into our room. When i was checking out i heard 2 other guests felt he front desk they basically had the same issue. Security - my sister had a suite down the hall, it had 2 entrances; a regular and one to the pool hallway. The Lock for the pool hallway was barely hanging on and probably could have been broken by a child. Smoke detectors - I may be wrong about what they were but there is some sort of alarm or detector in the rooms and it blinks brightly and obnoxiously, fast, like a stove light all night long. Seriously. Employees - trying not to be too discriminatory here but I never saw or dealt with any employee (besides the maintenance man) who seemed to be over 20years old. The place seems to be run by kids. **** for my toilet trouble, door handle flop, cleaning neglect I was offer a 25.00 credit off my stay. 25.00. It's Christmas, I'm trying not to let this awful place ruin my day and didn't feel like arguing so I took it with a grin. **** read more

**My review would've been mostly positive had this not happened and had the officer taking the report not told me this is an EVERY WEEKEND occurrence here because management refuses to put cameras in the lot. ** No wonder there are signs everywhere saying "hotel is not responsible for lost or stolen items"... ha!!!! The pool was super fun for our little girls. The hotel rooms were fine, liveable, nothing fancy. Being understaffed in the restaurant, coffee shop and front desk I can easily see past being that so many places are struggling to find employees. What bothers me is how violating it feels to have a wonderful weekend with our family to have someone steal things from our vehicle. I hope someone is able to see this post and realize it is not a safe place to stay. Again - officers told us this happens EVERY WEEKEND. Management refuses cameras. We were 1 in 6 just last night. I'm just glad I accidentally left my car unlocked as others were not so lucky and had windows smashed. read more

Hotel looked nice when walking into lobby but once we got to our room it was a complete 360. In our bathroom we found a used wash cloth -we were hoping it was used by housekeeping and just overlooked. Our room was overlooking the water park which also looked disappointing, good thing the holes in the curtains made it so we didn't miss a thing happening, aside from the holes our curtains were COVERED with all sorts of stains. Needless to say we didn't feel "clean" in our room and debated on going to a store to purchase a blanket to sleep on. Decided to go into the water park for a bit and when we did we were harassed by the life guard for the smallest of things including pulling a 2 person tube. Apparently even of you're the only 2 in the lazy river you still need to physically be in the tube the entire time. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

non refundable $240 a night - crappy and run down. If they put you in the older section with a "lake view" you end up smelling dog poop from the "pet relief area" The whole place was just poor. I was stuck here because I needed a place to stay in Duluth and everything was sold out. Check in was ridiculous having to show my ID 4 times so the person behind the desk could match it with my credit card. We had others staying in the room and moving their vehicles but she wouldn't check us in w/o them them being in front of her EVEN THOUGH they plunked down their licenses and credit cards in front of her then ran out to get a parking spot. W. T. F. they allegedly charge you if you smoke in the room - our room smelled like smoke - called the front desk and they showed up with a spray can of chemical crap. We were lucky enough to have some better stuff with us that helped. Agree with others that say there is black mold in the bathrooms - yup - nothing felt or looked clean. We found refuge in the bar - the bartender is a KEEPER! She rocked it! Then - a family with 7 year olds showed up to have a birthday party in the bar. W. T. F. so we gulped down what we could after 30 minutes of howling and left. I wouldnt let my kids in that water - or in any of those public areas unless they had their rabies shots. First off, this place is a joke. The pictures are absolutely NOT what they seem. It is a trashy pile of crap. You're pretty close to staying in a crack motel. This place has the worst AC units ever and there is zero coolness. The place is dirty. They have no sanitation efforts at all. It is old and nasty and you can tell they don't give one care about their property, or the people in it. The water park is disgusting and dirty, and has like 2 things to do hahaha. Plus, get this the cost of the bracelets is NOT included in the cost of the room. And it gets better! The Waterpark is closed on one day of the week. Why? They won't tell you, but they sure weren't cleaning it. They didn't do anything during the day it was closed. Oh and it gets better. The Waterpark is only open from 5pm to 10pm on the days they are open. What a freaking joke!! They will push the Waterpark wristbands on you like they are so packed and have no room. Nope!! Don't waste your money buying in advance. Nobody wants to be there so it's available if you do want to do it during the limited times. Oh and also, the Waterpark is a death trap for heat!! No ventilation, and if you even want to just go in to get something from the eat place in the pool area, you apparently have to have a bracelet. Im just going to watch my kids while they are in here. Nope buy a bracelet. Ok well my kids are fine swimming here and I can watch them from my room window bc we can see the park. We also use walkie talkies to check in with them.  The rude unprofessional lady at the door  we aren't here to babysit your kids. Ok pretty sure we never asked you to, not to mention the lifeguards are there for what? You? If you want towels, toilet paper, hygiene items, wash cloths, etc? You have to get them from the front desk yourself. You want to empty your trash and towels daily? You do it yourself. No cleaning services, nothing!! Don't bother. It isn't worth the money, time, effort, and it is NOT fun!! Don't do it. Get a better place bc this place is a waste of money!! read more

This place has gone so far down hill it's disgusting. We got to our room, the door wouldn't work, so they had to have maintenance come after having a worker try to get us in. We paid $110 for one night. You'd expect at least a comfortable bed, and a clean room.. wrong.. the beds must be 10 years old at least, they are hard, cheap, mattresses, further looking into the room, we had a blood stain on our pillow, and moldy, rotten something inside our ice bucket. The soap in our room, had been reused... when I brought it to the managers attention she said "all I can do is take $30 off." I wasn't going to fight, I took that and we checked out. Save your money. I'm sad to say I won't be back. I haven't been to Edgewater in about 6 years, but used to come about once a year for 3 years before that. I was very excited to bring my family here to stay for a couple days, and I can honestly say I've never been this disappointed. Our 1st room was dirty. We found food on the floor the first night but didn't even say anything. Then the second night my son found a pill on the carpet and I almost stepped on an open safety pin. The only reason we even switched rooms was because our toilet stopped flushing. And when I called to say something they asked if we could live with it for the night. They moved us rooms and the 2nd room was even more disgusting than the first. The walls are filthy, one of the bed frames has metal sticking out of the side, and there was a huge clump of hair on the shower wall. The worst part, is that the room reeks of cigarettes. I took a Clorox wipe I boring myself (thank god) and wiped down the counter. The wipe was extremely dirty and I've never seen so many crumbs and ...suspicious hairs in a "clean" room. I immediately went back to the desk, apologized and asked for a different room again. (I'm annoyed that I was the one apologizing) I was told they are booked solid and they handed me an air purifier (that's not doing anything). I asked again for literally anything else, and was told no. I carried the purifier back to our new room and now it's been about 2 hours and I have a stomach ache. At this point I wish we'd "lived with" no toilet, and just keep our shoes on rather than try to sleep in this smell. For $150 a night I'm staying in a dirty, stinky room. Don't waste your time or money. The "water park" is mediocre anyway. Also our hand towel rack literally just broke. This place is disgusting, which is just extra concerning during COVID. read more

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Came here for a little get away and it's not what it's website displays it to be. Our room was outdated and dirty. The bathroom has mold in the shower and when I pulled the lever to turn in the shower it only turned on halfway thus barley any water comes out. Down in the pool area the water has way too many chemicals in it, if you have sensitive skin STAY AWAY! we ordered a pizza and it was so nasty I couldn't even eat it. Over all it a waste of hard eared money. You pay an outrageous amount for the room just to wait till 5pm to get into the water park. Stay away from this place it's a scam. read more

The place is kind of a dump. Especially for $120 a night! As for the room, it was clean enough but in desperate need of a deep cleaning! Dust in the corners, stains on the carpet etc. The beds were horrible, the pillows lumpy (thankfully, I travel with my own), there were holes in the curtains - see photo and the tub was plugged. The entire place is run down and dingy feeling. The water park is dirty and in need of major cleaning and repairs! Food smeared into the floor upstairs and things rusting out. The hot tub was very crowded and and the water looked gross. That said, all the kids that were with us didn't care, they all had a good time and no one got sick... Also, upon checkout, there was a rat running around right outside our room!! Like within inches of our door! read more

Our room was absolutely filthy and gross. Grime in the bathroom, bugs found in the bathroom, and absolutely musty. It was clear that housekeeping had not cleaned our room which we paid $170.00 for. Shame on us. We stayed in one of the drive-up rooms. DO NOT STAY in the drive-up or any suite that is accessible from the outside. These are pet-friendly which is nice, but that's the only nice part. This is the old part of the hotel that hasn't been renovated, and the only reason they keep these rooms from being updated is because people still pay top price to stay in them. If you go here, stay in one of the rooms located in the hotel proper by the pool, those rooms are tended to well and very clean. Otherwise forget it! read more
