Long overdue review. Apollo rewired our house in 2022 and did an outstanding job - efficient, fast and at a reasonable price for the scope of work. Showed up on time and finished within estimated timeframe. We received several quotes to rewire our house and many of the contractors proposed simply cutting much of our drywall above the baseboards for easy access to wiring and one suggested even moving out of the house while work was done. Ted and Luis were able to do the full rewire with minimal drywall cutting (4 small areas in all) and no disruption to our electricity when we needed it mornings and evenings. I have worked with Apollo TB Electric back in September 2017 w.r.t the EV charger installation for my electric BOLT along with San Jose City inspector permit process etc. This time Ted + crew has done an electrical work for our Hills Dental Group San Jose (Practice of Dr. Rachana Vyas, DDS) in regards to installation of New 20 amp / 208V dedicated circuit along with installation of brand new Quad-breaker followed by configuration of 2 - NEMA 6-20 receptacles which got serviced by the 2 - 20 amp / 240V circuits. This help us to now move on from single vacuum pump (for suction unit) and upgraded to Dual Head Vaccum unit to support all the 4 Dental Chair Operatories with adequate vacuum PSI in each of the chair unit!!! Ted also helped to installed the 3 - 18/3 low voltage wires from equipment area to interior panel board switches to control the vacuum, water and compressor accessories. Ted & his crew saved us from an unsafe electrical situation left by a solar company. They installed a new mast, new main panels, new subpanels, afci breakers, and fixed some illegal circuits left by the solar guys. They were on the job for about 7 days, so I really got to know them. They are professional, honest, and do excellent work. I actually crawled and went up in the attic to double check everything myself and found no issues. I wanted to get 240V electric circuits for an ev charger and other european appliances. Ted came out and scope the work while I dealt with him remotely from overseas. Charged me 120 bucks for an estimate and coming out that was significantly higher than other contractors and the one I chose to do the work. In todays world to be charged for an estimate seems out of line. While Apollo appears to do good work from other reviews the policy of charging customers for estimates needs to change read more

Ted has done two jobs for me now - one planned Tesla charger installation, and another unplanned issue with my electrical panel. In both instances, Ted went above and beyond in his work. We had issues getting a permit due to an expired (and unrelated) permit on the house. Ted helped to get all the paperwork from the city to provide to me so that I could figure out which permit it was in order to get it resolved. He also did a quick and very clean installation of the Tesla charger and 2 years later, everything is working smoothly. Recently, Ted managed to find time in his busy schedule right before the holidays to come out and help with an electrical panel problem resulting in no power to some kitchen outlets. Ted quickly found the problem, and worked his very busy schedule to come help me the next day. While he was there, he also kindly helped install a transformer for my ring doorbell. Ted's techs Luis and Jordan came my home and installed Tesla Wall Connector this morning. It is an amazing job!! The job took 3.5 hrs (started 9AM and finished 12:30). For my case, they have to wrap surface mount conduit all the way from my deep backyard and then across the front to get to the charging location. It requires a pretty long and winding conduit. But Luis and Jordan laid it out beautiful and efficiency. I am impressed by their and job. Will definitely hire them again. BTW, Ted replied emails in a timely manner, easy to communicate! read more

The BEST ELECTRICIAN EVER!!! We had an electrical fire in our house last night in our dining area. The FD came out and made sure everything was safe. I emailed Ted at 12:30am and he responded so quickly. I called him around 9am this morning and he was at our house by 10:30am. Found out later that he worked us in while doing another job, talk about AMAZING service! We also needed someone to repair drywall for us and I happen to ask Ted to see if he knew anyone and he was able to work another miracle for us and his amazing guy Lee from Specialty Textures (which I will also be doing a review for) was able to come out today and patch up everything! After buying our house, we contracted Ted to perform various upgrades to the electrical system including a panel replacement, 200A service upgrade, selective outlet grounding, and installation of new circuits for a treadmill and EV charger. The project became larger when, after we had had some drywall opened to install a gas line to the stove, Ted noticed some dangerously out-of-code (and clearly unpermitted) electrical work that had been done during a kitchen remodel by the previous owners. This was in such bad shape that Ted inadvertently demonstrated its severity when he caused an arc flash by merely tapping a wire with a pencil when pointing out the problem area to us. So we had Ted re-wire the kitchen to code as well, which he did, installing separate circuits for major appliances, and generally leaving us much more at ease that our kitchen was no longer an electrical fire hazard. On account of the unanticipated scope growth of the project, when Ted encountered smaller safety issues elsewhere during the course of the project, he fixed them for free or at a deep discount from what the normal price would have been. Ted handled coordination with PG&E and pulling permits with the city. All of his work passed inspection on the first attempt. He was able to adjust his schedule to ensure that his work did not interfere with other work being done simultaneously (e.g. to the HVAC system and flooring). During the entire project, he was extremely responsive by both phone and e-mail, and was willing and able to discuss our requirements at length and to clearly explain our options and their tradeoffs (e.g. for using GFCI breakers and a surge arrestor in the panel). Overall, of all the work we have had done on our new house, Ted was by far the most pleasant contractor to work with, and I would recommend him to anyone. read more
