Stopped in yesterday evening before an event I was attending just around the corner. Came in and sat at the bar. I was greeted by the bartender Ty. He was taking care of the bar and also checking on customers in the dining area. He did a great job taking care of me. The beer was ice cold. They have a great selection of craft beer on tap and the digital beer menu makes it very easy to choose what you want. I didn't have time to eat, so can't comment on the food. If it is anything like the other Apollo locations, you can't go wrong with the pizza or wings. read more

Our group stopped in for an early dinner after a couple of distillery tours, and we all left full and happy. This is a perfect casual dinner spot, with an extensive menu and good service. Their regular crust pizza is fluffy and had just enough chew. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the cauliflower wings (tossed in sweet chili sauce) to start--they were crisp and coated thoroughly. We also had the Rachel pizza, which boasts chicken, bacon, cilantro, pineapple, and bbq sauce. We were very pleased with our choices and would recommend both! read more

Pizza/food is awesome.. I usually like a glass of wine with dinner, been to Apollo on Leestown about 4 times. Wine is hit or miss. "Chardonnay? We are out. Okay, red blend? Out. Um what do you have? Last drop of a bottle of Merlot?" Yikes. Would definitely go to this place more often if wine situation was more reliable. read more

Pizza is sprays delicious! Before I started working remote, I would come here for lunch on occasion. I've never had a bad experience or bad food! Visited on Friday evening 7/21/23 with my husband and son and I were all got 9" pizzas and also shared fried jalapeño. I got the four cheese, he got the sausage fest, and husband got the il postino I don't typically like a sausage pizza - but this was the best sausage pizza I've ever had. Same for the cheese pizza. I highly recommend! Staff is great and attentive, and the atmosphere is really nice. A great pizza place! read more

As always, the best pizza in the area! Great service as well as fast. If you haven't tried, you should.

We were just stopping in Lexington for one night while on a road trip and wanted some pizza delivered to our hotel room. Decided on Apollo pizza. What a great choice!! Delicious pizza and we had it Doordashed right to our hotel room door! Sorry I forgot to take a picture, we ate it too fast!! We are pretty picky with our pizza and we were so happy with Apollo's that we wish they would bring it out to Yorkville, Illinois!! read more

I love this place. They have fast service and their food is always fresh and hot. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. I prefer the outdoor seating when weather permits. I can't get enough of their Four Cheeses of the Apocalypses. It is so darn good. This place is usually clean and very quite. They have many local beers on tap which I appreciate alot. Stop in for a bite or a beer you won't regret it. Take the entire family if you wish. read more

I want to like Apollo, I really do which is why i give them chance after chance. First, they have a really great patio for having pizza and beer on a nice day. They also have a solid beer selection. Unfortunately it's mostly downhill from there. We've tried take out, eating on the patio, and today eating inside. Nearly every time the food has been inconsistent. Pizza has usually been average, breadsticks range from way undercooked to above average. The one consistent thing is their customer service is consistently 1 star. We visited today and had the special Detroit style pie. It was the best food we've had here and recommend it become a permanent menu item. The server couldn't be bothered to answer questions or be remotely friendly. Considering we are in a pretty wild time with restaurants struggling to stay open from COVID I was surprised to find that they weren't even wiping down tables when clearing plates from them. We will likely give them a try again down the road but it's going to be a while for us. They've got a lot to work on. read more

I wanted to like Apollo. I really did. The place had good reviews. I need a "go to" sit down pizza joint. Was Apollo that place? Nah. I was initially worried when I went in and saw all the craft beer options. Am I a teetotaler? No. Not at all. But I've learned that restaurants sometimes get overly high marks because they have a ton of microbrews. I blame the hipsters for this. But I judge a restaurant on the food options. We ordered the garlic cheese bread as an appetizer. It is fantastic. Honestly one of the best appetizers ever. I was so excited. I thought I had been so wrong to assume the place had overly high hipster ratings. What a fool I had been. Then the pizza came. We went with a Bellino original crust and a cheese thin crust. When I first saw the Bellino, I thought, "Man, that looks a lot like a Digiorno." Then we tried it. I thought, "Man, that tastes a lot like a Digiorno." Look, I'm not saying that they served me a Digiorno. But I am saying I paid a lot more for that pizza than a $10 Digiorno and it wasn't any better. Lack of sauce. Lack of that fresh flavor you're looking for at an excellent pizza place. Lack of zing. I'm not even gonna speak to the cheese pizza thin crust. Just avoid. Not worth mentioning. It's always hard to rate these experiences. If you want to meet up with your hipster friends, down a couple overpriced microbrews, complain about your student loans, and share a garlic cheese bread, you're gonna have a great time. But the pizza is not the draw here. And it kinda needs to be. read more

Today we mourned the loss of our 12 yr. Old Dog with our 3, now teenage boys. One of our favorite things we did with our dog was give him "pizza Bones," (pizza crust). Apollo was gracious to deliver to us today whole outside of their delivery area while burying our dog In our backyard. It allowed us to throw "pizza bones" at his graveside while mourning our loss. TY Apollo's for just having the heart to do such a small thing, that meant more than u know to our family! We love and have always supported ur business! read more

Today I went and picked up my wife for lunch and we were undecided as to what we wanted to eat. Instead of turning left on Leestown Rd, (Like we always do), we decided to turn right and see what was down the road. While we don't understand as to why this place has been given 3 and a half stars, our experience certainly DOES NOT match up. When we walked in, the staff was very friendly, accommodating and attentive. The building was clean, they had 24oz Drinks. I got an Ale8 and my wife got a Mr Pibb. They had 3 TV's inside and they were tuned to a Tennis Game. After we ordered our food I got the Meatball Sandwich and my wife got the Hot Brownie Pizza. Our food came out Hot and after taking a first bite OOOOH! That Meatball Sandwich was so good with Pizza sauce and Mozzarella cheese. The Waiter checked on us several times and he Even had 1 of his other staff members check on us while he was attending to a Party outside on the Patio. NOW THATS SERVICE. Being that we have never been here before, we are so glad that we came AND, can't wait to go back when we have a BIGGER Appetite and more time. Thanks Apollo Pizza for your great tasting food and service today. We WILL be back. read more

There are definitely pros and cons about Apollo's. The seating area inside isn't huge, but the large outdoor seating is great during the warmer months. The beer selection has a nice variety, with a definite emphasis on local companies, which we love. We've had several pizzas that we really enjoyed, but several really just haven't hit the mark. The bacon and mac & cheese pizza sounds SO good, but really wasn't very flavorful. In contrast, the bacon chicken ranch and the all-meat pizzas were delicious (can you tell we like bacon?). The same is true for appetizers - the fried ravioli was just so-so, but other apps have been fine. Apollo's can be a little inconsistent, but the service has always been great and we've never had a *bad* experience. It's like the saying goes - even the so-so pizza is still pizza. read more

I really do like this place. I love the outdoor area. And their mac and cheese pizza used to be my favorite pizza in the entire city. This place has only been open 2 weeks, Pizza was very good, Only disappointment was patio is weeks from being open. The patio has huge potential. Going have a bar, lots of seating. Bartender says TVs are coming for outside. Great addition to neighborhood. On our 2nd trip, We had the Banana peppers for appetizers & they were great. (They are rings, Breaded & Fried) We had carnivore pizza this time. It was one of best pizzas I have had in long time. read more

Marcy the GM greeted us on the way in and then seated us and took our order. She was so nice and friendly. She told us all about this gem of a pizza place which hails from Richmond, KY. I'll have to say, Apollo's is a welcome addition to Lexington where really amazingly good pizza is always in need. First we ordered the fried mushrooms which are made specifically for Apollos. These shrooms were outstanding! She gave us a cup of the marinara as well as the ranch and both pair equally well with my fried fungus. My son and I split a 14-in pizza, half basil, fresh mozz, and meatballs and half banapeppers and mushrooms. Look at this pie! I ordered a Citra A$$ Down IPA which I can say confidently was one of the best on the menu. If you don't believe me you'll have to come in and check them out for yourself! Apollo's owners are true Red White and Blue Patriots who support our men and women who serve. Apollo's supports Police, Fire, EMS, First Responders and the Military and Veteran community. Please reach out to them to see how they can accommodate your event etc. We will definitely be back at to enjoy this establishment's offerings. read more

To me this is "Find Dining" It's this taproom pizza joint that feels downhome and has great music and a enough room for parties of all types and you like the atmosphere and think well the food will be a plus... but then it comes out and your mind is blown away by the thoughtful preparation and the genius ingredient combinations and it all comes out in an unpretentious way, like at the country town diner and you just can't believe you didn't have to have reservations and put on a tie to eat here. Like you're getting away with some of the best pizza and salad and appetizers and sandwiches. I mean the other places just shove pizza and wings at you and blast sports so loud you want to cry.... Apollo's is smart and thoughtful about all its patrons food desires and social needs. Do this place all day everyday. Yum read more

The wifey is in town so we visited Apollo's last night, I loved the decor. They have upwards of 15 brews on tap, so I think anyone will find a few to their liking. The menu has many pizza and sandwich choices, plus the normal pastas. I had a West Sixth brew that was great, by the way Apollo supports Ky micro breweries. I choose the Stromboli sandwich An it was of excellent quality and tasted great. The Mrs chose the Cheeseburger pizza(9") she enjoyed it, I did take a bit of her pizza, it was excellent. We will be going back for eats and maybe a few beers from time to time. The other pizza's I saw looked yummy. Well deserving of their rating. read more

If you like really, really cold pizza, order here! If you go and pick it up yourself, you might get something decent. I'm not sure.

Pizza was delicious and the beer list included some interesting, KY choices. Service was inconsistent - excellent during one visit and a bit indifferent another. Now that the weather is sunny and warm the open front of the restaurant brings a little something extra as well. read more

Overall, the pizza tastes good, but it isn't the best in town. The crust is really thin and the toppings can be meager. I ordered the Gangster pizza which, according to the menu, claims to include "criminal amounts" of sausage. By "criminal," I assumed they meant "more than should be legal." Instead, it appears it meant, "so little you feel like you have been robbed" because the pizza barely contained any sausage at all. Some pieces didn't have any. What was there tasted good, but it was laughably minimal. The vegetarian pizzas have a little more toppings. And the price is decent considering what you get. The restaurant itself looks cool on the inside and they have big roll up windows at the front to let in fresh air. Not a bad choice if you are in the area! read more

we dined at Apollo Pizza tonight and had the worst customer service I've ever received anywhere in my 58 years of life! Very cool little pizza shop to stop by for a bite to eat or a few drinks. The service was good and everything was clean. The Baked Mac and Cheese was very cheesy but not a lot of flavor. 10/10 do NOT recommend and will never go back. First time customer. Called an hour before close, confirmed it was not too late to order pickup and they said of course not. Places my order and said "gluten free" 2 times. Worker then asks what size to which I'm confused BC there's only one GF size. So I asked, did you hear me say GF? No. No he did not. Ok whatever! But then he has to ask all over what I wanted ...? Then I add on wings. Oh nope, out of those but he offers another type but I'm like ok, sure but those aren't GF, right?!? No. So I said well i can't have those, so just the pizza. I show up 24 minutes later and they said it'd be ready in 20. Show up and it takes a few minutes to get the order so I'm assuming it's fresh out of the oven! Nope. It gets handed to me and the bottom of the box is not only not hot, it's COLD. I'm pissed now but whatever I don't want to complain...maybe it's still good I'll just heat it at home. Get home and it is in fact COLD. Do you not have heat lamps?! Look at it and the mushrooms are pale canned mushrooms. Poor quality ingredients sparsely placed. Seriously, who uses canned mushrooms anymore?! I warm it up and try it. It's HONESTLY the worst tasting and worst texture pizza I've had in my life. It's chewy, rubbery, tasteless. And this tiny almost personal sized pizza with cheap ingredients cost $15. I can't tell you the last time I've been so disappointed in a restaurant. If I was dining in I would have sent this back. It's an embarrassing product no business owner should ever put out. read more

Thrilled that we have this gem of a pizza place close to home!! First, beer list is excellent - they typically have about 20 beers on tap. Most feature local or craft breweries and offer a great selection. I honestly think they keep one of the best rotating tap lists in Lexington. Food is always great! Our favorite pizzas are the Holy Pepperoni Batman and Rachel. Don't forget to start with the garlic butter bread sticks - they are a must order! Pro tip: Keep the extra garlic butter sauce (that will be leftover after you eat the breadsticks) as a dip for pizza crust! You can thank me later! read more

Definitely a take out place only. We ordered from here two week prior for take out and everything was delicious! We were excited to come back. We went this evening to dine in and sat at the bar (there was only one couple at the bar) It is a small dining room and was not real busy. We received no acknowledgement from any employee for, at least, 10 minutes. Finally someone asked if we had been helped, and when we said "no", she said "well are you dining in?!?!" Obviously...?! We left to find better service. read more

Been several times now. Pizza is above average, I wouldn't call it the best in town but will most assuredly please most people. Decent but not huge craft beer selection. I'm a craft beer junkie and there's always at least a couple that I consider outstanding. My only knock is the location. It's a rather rundown, older part of Lexington. (Apollo's is totally renovated by the way.) Perhaps with this new business others will flock and infuse some money for upgrades. read more

Very tasty pizza in a convenient location. Full bar. Very solid tap list and a Verified Venue on Untapp'd (which they reliably keep up to date!) They offer flights of four 5 oz. pours, or full pints. We had a good meal here. The pizza was very good, but not the best I've ever had. The service was extra slow though, it too way longer than it should have to get our food. They said they were backed up, but even so it was a long time. We were already hungry when we walked in, so this didn't help. read more

I spoke with the guy up front for a minute, not sure if he was the owner or not, he said they just started taking carry out orders last week. They wanted to make sure they had a good system and their timing was right before doing carry out. Everyone leaving bad reviews about that have obviously never owned or know how to run a business. A new place comes into town and people start bashing it because they're trying to maintain the quality of their product and not overwhelm themselves. Don't listen to the haters on here, pizza was AWESOME and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Oh and they also have Bourbon! Just wanted to show some love from one business owner to the next! I'll be frequenting this place for sure, it's right down the street! read more

This was our first time checking out this new location that is close to our neighborhood. Apollo has been an institution in Richmond and Berea for years, but this location literally just opened last week. They are going for the brewhouse concept with about 20 different beers on tap, most of which are local. My wife doesn't drink beer, and since I had to work later, we opted for soda. It's important to note that they have Ale-8 on tap, which for me is HUGE. The other thing that is huge is the size of their cups. So by the drinks alone, they are off to a great start. We ordered the garlic cheesy bread, which was amazing. We definitely recommend. The pizzas all have interesting names. My wife ordered the Holy Pepperoni Batman, which she said was good, but the only thing she thought was "wrong" was that it may have been a bit overcooked. It was good though. I got the Carnivore, which has all of the meats. It was good. The staff was very attentive too. In the end, we agreed that Apollo is a solid and welcome addition to this side of town, and definitely worth many return trips. read more
