Just a causal lunch with good service. Theme was a little bit more Italian today even though there's a gyro present. Atmosphere is comfortable a little bit dated kind of dark. But they make pretty good pizzas as you can see from the pictures and the plans in the white wine sauce is a very good appetizer pan. read more

We go up to see Sissy, who is a locals favorite. Our friends got garlic knots. My hubs got his typical gyro (good!) I got the house salad. I miss the hothouse tomatoes the previous owner bought special. Knowing this is a corporate owned pizza joint now, that's why. They had music bingo. Updated old time Apollo Beach pizza joint. Half of it is a bar ( had live music when we were there). My guest had a burger. Pretty good basic. I had a chicken parm sandwich. Fries were hot but a little salty. Food took a while since they were busy. Waitress kept my tea filled though. Stopped in here for a late night pizza. I can't judge the location as it was a to go order but it seemed like a pretty cool place to have a beer with friends if you had the time. Well, we have been here 4 times. It's been 2 years though from the first 2 to the second 2 . 2 years ago it was ok. Now it's on the very good scale. Had pizza there last week which was very good. Came back this week and we had dinners wife had stuffed shells which were, yep you guessed it, very good and I had the chicken cutlet parmesan, also very good with a huge side of spaghetti. Only one suggestion for the chicken, pound it thinner. Service was excellent and the ambiance was old Florida. Ifykyk. We will become regulars for sure. read more

Coming from NY, it's difficult to find a good slice. I've now had this pizza twice. The slices are good but the Margherita slice made no sense. It was a regular pie with sliced tomatoes on it. I should've know when we got our drinks in the giant styrofoam cups this would be a great experience. Food was delicious, wife had lasagna which was made in house and I had wings which were perfect. My Husband and I were in the mood for the amazing cheesy bread which i strongly suggest, but after that who needs pizza. The house salad is very large and filling I do suggest it. But the best part of our dinning in was our waitress, she has a long beautiful Spanish name but goes by Rai for short. I can not even give this girl her props she was attentive, on point, fast and courteous but her smile and personality was her everything. We haven't been here for a very long time, and I just didn't remember how dark and dreary the room where the entertainment was. We opted for the other room, which was still a bit dreary, but not as bad. Our server was very friendly and brought our drinks, along with water and homemade rolls. As an Italian food lover, I knew I wanted to try something different than the pizza which we had previously eaten. There were many good choices on the menu, but I settled on the stuffed shells with meat sauce. Our food arrived timely and the plates were super hot as they came right from the oven. That's heaven on a plate for me as I love hot food. There were 3 large shells, stuffed with ricotta and swimming in a tasty meat sauce. My meal was delicious. Once we got our food, our server was hard to find. We waited a long time for our check and then once we gave him our card, we waited long for his return. Atmosphere - Not the restaurant's best attribute. Half of the restaurant is very dark and depressing. The other half is a bit brighter . However, I can't imagine hat the owner has put any money into the interior for 40 years. The tables and booths are packed together and a group of any size turns a fairly noisy dining experience into something akin to eating on a subway. Service - Good.our server was friendly and attentive until the table became filled around our area. After that, it took a very long time to get our check and our table was never cleared. Food - Very Good. The restaurant is best known for it's pizza, but I awash in the mood for pasta. I had the stuffed shells with meat sauce and I ordered an addition of meatballs. The meatballs (of which there were 4) were the size of a large marble. Nothing special, but the up charge was only a dollar. There were 3 very large shells stuffed with ricotta cheese and tons of cheese (I believe mozzarella) topping them. The sauce was very good. Overall Value - very good. To be honest, had I not enjoyed my meal so much, I could easily have rated the restaurant 3 stars.The prices are reasonable and the food very good. read more

The host, who I did not get the name of, is the only reason this place gets a single star. He was nice and wanted to make sure I got my order despite running around. I wish I had gotten his name to praise him in this review because after bringing my mom home from the hospital after a week long stay due to a Pulmonary Embolism and fall, he was the only kindness I found in this place. As soon as I step in, I ask for my order. Well, it hadn't even been put in their system yet despite a pick up time of 6:29pm on the Seamless app. I waited 10 minutes as was told by the girl manning the counter at carry out. The carry out girl took a personal call on her phone unprofessionally and the waitress, Taylor, completely ignored me and even gave me a look of disgust as I was in her area and "not her problem". Even a manager passed me and didn't even offer a smile or ask me what I was waiting on. The host is the only reason I would ever consider coming back because he understands customer service. The rest of the staff needs lessons from him. read more

A June the Raccoon Review ***** Alpha Pizza Pasta Prime***** I've lived in this area for a decade now and passed this place I don't know how many times, but I never went in. That was such a mistake. From the outside you can hardly tell there is a restaurant there. Sinage is modest and dated. I had no idea from the parking lot how large the inerior would be. It's huge! There is a quiet family style section made up of private booths to the left. Beyond that looks to be a dining room used for larger gatherings and groups. On the other side of the building there is a fully stocked bar with tables for seating around it and behind that a larger dining room with a stage and dance floor and live entertainment. We sat in a booth on the quiet side and enjoyed the oldies playing over the speakers. The place is clean and comfortable despite being old. The smells coming from the open window to the kitchen as we passed by it were incredible! I had a feeling of being in a well loved and well cared for family establishment. I ordered a glass of wine and small thin crust pizza with tomatoes and olives. My dinner mate ordered a beer on tap and eggplant parm sandwich. We split the spanakopita appetizer. Everything came out hot and fresh. The spanakopita was absolutely delicious. Crisp and flavorful and the tiziki sauce in the side was one of the best I've ever tasted. My pizza was a perfect size for me. The crust was extra thin and crispy, just like I like it. The flavor was spot on. My dinner mates sandwich was humongous! Enough for 2 meals. The eggplant inside was nice and thin and breaded to crisp perfection. The only complaints on the sandwich were that it lacked evough sauce and the addition of the sliced raw green peppers on the bottom threw off the flavor profile and seemed unnecessary. The service was both fast and friendly and the bill was surprisingly reasonable considering the times we are living in. After dinner we headed to the wilder side of the building to watch the entertainment for awhile. A young male singer performed enthusiastically to a crowd of very happy older guests. Couples danced on the dance floor to songs they no doubt once danced to at their high school proms. It was a sweet sight. I'm sorry to have missed out on the years I could have been enjoying meals here with my family, but I'm very happy to have found it now. There is always room for improvement, but based on this dining experience I am giving it 5 on my cookie rating system! This is a cute place over in Apollo beach. My mom and grandma went here a couple months go for lunch and they said they had a pleasant experience and the food was really good. Lately my family and I have been on a pizza kick, so i decided to give this place a visit for lunch. I went to lunch during the week, so they weren't that busy and I was able to be seated right away. I started off with the cream of potato soup they had. I love baked potato soup, so I thought this would be pretty good. Unfortunately, I was not pleased. The cream soup was not very creamy and it just tasted a little weird. For my meal, I ordered the Greek salad and pepperoni pizza. The Greek salad was pretty good and the pizza was decent. Formerly Alpha Pizza, the new owners renamed it Apollo Pizza. I believe the new owners also own Finn's down the road. The decor is nothing to write home about, it's just a good solid local pizza place, big enough for parties too. We dined in for the first time last week, and were pleasantly surprised. Our server Taylor was friendly and accomodating. We shared a huge chef salad with their homemade Greek dressing, it was great. It could easily have fed four to six people. I had a personal pie with green peppers, olives and meatballs and my son had a personal pie with sausage. There are all kinds of choices of crusts (mine was thin, my son's was regular), sauces (marinara, vodka, white, etc.), and toppings. Even the personal pie could easily have served two to three people. For the month of December, they're doing Christmas crafts for the kids each day, which is a nice touch and keeps the kids occupied either before the meal arrives or afterwards. I went to Alpha house with a group of friends. The service was great and the place is cute. Most liked their food, I did not, but it was my fault. I ordered a chicken parm hero. Not only was it filled with green peppers, but the chicken was cubed. I didn't check the menu which said it had green peppers . I've had plenty of chicken parm hero, but never with green peppers. The chicken "cubes" also missed their mark as far as tasty. I had a few bites and gave it to my friend for his lunch the next day. He's a pepper lover. I might try going there again and give alpha house another try. But no chicken parm for this girl! read more
