Weekday lunch buffet! Stopped in around noon and wow, the place was totally packed! In fact, it continued to be packed with people waiting for the entire time we were there (we were busy talking, so slower lunch than usual). Neither of us are vegetarian, so while it's great that there were multiple vegetarian choices, simply not our style, but thankfully there were a few chicken choices too! Yummy food, fresh naan baskets delivered to the table, & also some other Indian crepe like thing (don't remember the name). The only down side is that the way they have their tables set up feels kind of like a cafeteria, which might bother some people. All in all, stop in for the buffet - excellent value for some fabulous food! read more

This is my second visit and I am not disappointed. Tucked away in the back streets of Columbus, behind an Indian grocery store, this is a restaurant you could easily pass over. Don't. The food is good, service prompt and polite. Judging by the number of Indians eating here the food meets their standards. read more

Really good , never had Indian food and was amazed ! They have a buffet so it gives you a selection to choose from

Very good dinner buffet. Great variation and lots of vegetarian options. Would definitely come back.

Delicious, great lunch buffet. Service is friendly but process is confusing for a first timer.

I have been waiting here for 40 min at the buffet and I have asked repeatedly for some naan. Yet they keep saying we'll get it shortly to no outcome. Seriously horrible service from this place. Food is okay but seriously 40 min wait for some bread? Pass read more

Went on a Sunday evening when they have dinner buffet. It was a nice sampling of popular Indian dishes. I tried a little bit of everything and it was beyond delicious. I am by no means an expert on Indian cuisine as I've only visited a handful of Indian restaurants. But, I know good food and this is as good as it gets. The naan was to die for. I will certainly be back. read more

If you enjoy Indian food, then you must visit Apna Kitchen. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly.

Excellent. Well worth a detour, if you can find it. Mild was spicier than I expected. Lamb saag was excellent as was the dosai.

Best Indian buffet in town. Always a large variety and the food appears and tastes of high quality.

Excellent choices, excellent service, excellent food, especially liked the biryani. The location is unusual, but that just adds to the experience! read more

AUTHENTIC ! Great place for Indian cuisine in Columbus. The food was great and we had a great overall experience. We totally recommend this restaurant for Indian cuisine. read more

The food is okay...but staff is not at all qualified to handle their job. The food was served unprofessionally, the waiter who was serving us got one item at a time carrying it in one hand and with this thumb inside the bowl(luckily not touching the food). He was super rude and when we asked for certain chutney he replied with ' I am making this from last one year this is how it should be' with threatening tone. It was super uncomfortable. He kept staring at all of us the whole time we were there. Clearly the staff never had any professional training or have manners for how to serve food, how to talk to customers and how not to offend anyone when all people are looking for is a decent meal and some good time. read more

Great Indian food right in the middle of Columbus, Indiana. I am a regular here and the food is top quality and spicy. Come during the buffet hours to try everything! read more

If you are looking for Indian food in Columbus this is the spot! The lunch buffet is excellent and always has me trying new types of food. Many varieties of rice and meat are available to accommodate your taste buds. I've only been during the lunch buffet and only go when I can afford to really go all out in all you can eat fashion on the different varieties of food that are offered. Apna accommodates for most dietary options as well making any picky eater happy. read more

This is the To-go south Indian Restaurant in town. They have a lunch buffet throughout the week (except for Monday) which is pretty good - comes with both veggie and meat entrees. I personally love the veggie items more - however - the tandoori chicken is pretty decent too. Over weekends, the lunch buffet menu is improved with lamb Malai curry and other items but the price also goes up (think it's like $13 over the weekend). There is chaat buffet on Sunday night. Over the rest of the week, they serve a la carte menu at night. If you're craving dosa or indo-chinese meals, you'd want to check out the restaurant at night. Overall, decent service and decor but a little more expensive compared to the other Indian buffet in town. The food in general is very delicious. read more

Great food, little hard to find about gave up when I found the grocery right next door instead of the store. Good was delicious, atmosphere was nice, was a little pricey. read more

I love this place! It's clean and has wonderful food all the time. I wish they had the buffet all the time! The buffet is very mild and comes with bread. Try the garlic naan. I wish they would expand their hours, dining room and give a carafe of water on the table! The wait staff leaves a lot to be desired but the food makes up for them. read more

Horrible service! The food wasn't that great either. We waited for almost half an hour before the server took our order and then it was another 50 minute wait. The servers were not very polite either. This was my first and last visit to that place. Totally not worth it! read more

WOW! What a selection for the lunch. We loved it here. Boyfriend is a picky eater and he loved the chicken everything. I enjoyed every single thing I could manage to shovel into my happy little mouth. We went for lunch. Had no idea it was buffet only, but went ahead and just tried to anyway- even though the boyfriend was looking for tandoori chicken, only... The buffet was a delicious treat of vegetarian and meat options, along with tasty fruits, sauces, and a smattering of chickpeas etc.... OH OH OH--- and the best goat curry I have ever had. The wait staff was friendly, the taste was outstanding. The decor was meh, but who cares! It's not a fashion show. It's clean, and they serve perfection on a plate. Although I am not familiar with all the names of Indian food, only the joyful noises my mouth makes when I eat it (LOL) I know I have had many many of these dishes else where (Just can not recall what they were named)- and Apna smashes the competition in preparing those dishes. Apna is outstanding. Best Indian food to date I have had- that includes NW Indiana and Chicagoland region. Might be my favorite new place in the world to eat actually, come to think of it. Ever left a place totally happy and smiling for like half an hour? Yeh. Well that's how much I like it here. If you read my other reviews you know I don't mess around LOL! I highly recommend their veggie options, their naan is lovely (did I spell that correctly?) and good god, the perfection on the spicing! Out of this world. I will be back. I am currently planning on going there in my dreams tonight. (Hope they serve goat in your sleep!) read more

Apna's has become a local favorite. Their dishes are 2nd to none. The restaurant is clean and hip. They will take time to answer your questions and recommend new dishes to try. We've never had a bad meal. Try the Gobi Manchurian. It's unbelievably good, as is everything. read more

Don't let the outside fool you. In the alley tucked away. Great atmosphere. Nicely furnished. Food was so good. We tried different things and were well pleased. Big servings and everything was a different taste experience. Can't wait to try Sunday buffet. read more

The best Indo-Chinese I have ever tasted in US. Reminds me my favorite place from Pune. This place has maintained the quality so well and I really don't mind the Price any more. You get the best for what you are paying for. This place has variety of items and I have tasted most. My favorite "Paneer Tikka Masala" and butter naan ( Indian bread) second best Lahori Paneer. read more

I absolutely love the Indian food here. They do not try to change it make it more appealing to the crowd. This does not mean that it's hot, it just means that the spices are just right! read more

Best a Indian food we've ever had. Kerala fish curry is amazing!!! Puri likewise. Samosas are often dull, but not these! We are changing our travel plans to stop here on the way home. read more

As a British Ex Pat living in Indy finding a quality Indian Restaurant was fantastic as our family loves Indian food. Apna Kitchen is a great find. The menu is expansive and covers great Indian food from all over the country, including some indo Chinese options. The service off the waiters is fantastic and they are always happy to help and provide a good service. The food takes a while to come but is always well worth the wait. It is cooked fresh and supremely tasty. They will also accommodate your spice level. All in all Apna Kitchen is a 5 star Indian for food quality. We go often and would recommend to anyone who enjoys a family Indian meal. read more

Fantastic Indian buffet. Can't be beat in about 60 mile radius. The best thing about this place is that the taste is authentic Indian taste. Some of the Indian restaurants in US are Americanized. But this is not. The buffet includes some decent breakfast options, a few starters, and a decent selection of main course for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. Desserts are average, but better than some Indian restaurants. Price is very affordable. Prompt service. Helpful staff. read more

This is very different from normal indian restaurants in that they have south indian and Indo Chinese options too! The taste of dishes is very different from other restaurants I have usually eaten at. We were at their place 7 times in the last ten days and have not repeated a dish yet. There is so much variety and it's hard to pick a favorite yet. I did like their navratan korma which was very tasty and slowly becoming my favorite. I removed a star for their pricing but if the taste keeps up, it will be hard to stay away! read more

I wouldn't rate the food to be awesome rather say ok. I have had better experiences with other Indian restaurants. The price of their buffets is ridiculously high. I have never spend this much money for a Indian restaurant buffet to my knowledge.I was surprised when I went there for the first time and I am never going back. read more

Excellent food if you're willing to splurge a little! Don't let the exterior fool you. This restaurant is very nice, clean and delicious!

This restaurant is a little off the beaten path and you have to look for it, but DEFINITELY worth the search! This was really the first experience my friend and I had with a variety of Indian food and it was all fabulous! We had the lunch buffet and loved the variety of items to try, both with meat and vegan. And the garlic Naan was so good! We will definitely be back - maybe this weekend! read more

This is a hidden gem in Columbus, and I'm so glad my Indian food addiction led me to find such a great restaurant so close to my home. I came for the lunch buffet which has a decent variety of mostly meat-free dishes. Being quite the carnivore myself, I did miss the abundance of chicken and goat dishes I usually find at my favorite Indian places. Regardless, the lack of meat does not take away from the deliciousness of the food and the quality of service. And the garlic naan? I would live on that if I could. read more
