Great spot for kombucha lovers! The drinks are fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Cozy atmosphere and friendly vibe

I love the Apiary. I decided to take myself out on a solo date to celebrate finishing grad school and the ciders, mead, and kambucha did not disappoint. I had some tasters of the drink your flowers. What I particularly enjoy is the cider - the cider is dry and not sweet. You can taste the intentionality and love in every sip. The ambiance and family feel make you feel right at home!

Very cute spot for drinks in an industrial building! We ordered a flight and got 6 tasters (very generous pours). The jasmine hops was the star of the show and I would come back for this drink alone. Also enjoyed the ginger turmeric, hibiscus rose, and wildflower! We were not fans of the Sierra madre or darkest flower (strange aftertaste). Great location since it's right next door to another brewery and an empanada spot so you can hop from one spot to the next. There was also a food truck there on sat afternoon!

I love this place. There's something for everyone. You can sit outside on their patio while you enjoy a drink, games like Jenga and empanadas from a few doors down. It's local, unique & delightful.

But we would try this place. Different than beer. Staff was very educational. Picked up a flight.. They all had very different taste to them. I did enjoy the vanilla one. Inside and outside seating. They also have games for the table to entertain yourself. They have drinks to go, canned or bottled. Will definitely re-purchase some in the future.

Our flight samples of mead, and a beautiful smile to go with the experience.

I love it when I show up that the love is shown and very welcoming. The vibe is very relaxing. The atmosphere is peaceful and friendly. No food sold here. But there is an empanada place closed on Sundays. I always like coming here. It keeps me coming back every time.

Quick Summary Great ambiance and fantastic kombucha on tap. Located a few blocks from the downtown area with plenty of street and lot parking available. Drinks- 5 stars The kombucha was fantastic. Tried the "Drink Your Flowers" and "Lady in the Moon" and they were both so delicious (I slightly liked the Drink Your Flowers more). Everything was on tap and you can buy cans/bottles to go Service- 5 stars Servers were nice. Typical brewery style where you get your own water. Cool ambiance with plenty of outdoor seating and some indoor seating. Parking- plenty of street and lot parking Bottom Line Great spot to check out if you're around the area and are craving some Kombucha.

A friend and I went to this place after I saw wonderful reviews on Yelp! I've gotta say, this place is small but mighty! The staff was so nice and went over the flavors of the drinks and his recommendation. The flight was $22 for six very generous pours. My friend and I each got a flight but we could've shared one. There is seating inside but also seating outside which was lovely given the weather. Just an overall relaxing time with good beverages. I'd highly recommend this place and to eat bring nibbles or buy some empanadas from Che a few doors down.

All hail The Apiary! If you've ever wanted to try mead, this is the place! With the guidance of Sir Miles, I sampled a few varieties. Both were delicious and had a fragrant aroma. I went with a few Darkest Flower/Avocado Blossom, and enjoyed them back in my hotel room by the sea. They have other "botanical beverages" (including cider and hard kombucha) here also, and you can hang out and interact in a patio area in the back. The Carpinteria Wine Company a few doors down is also fantastic. What a cool spot in such a cool little town!

Delicious craft drinks, great vibes, and friendly service! Came on a Saturday afternoon right at opening and our beer tender was kind to serve us even a few minutes early since we were already around. They have draft hard kombucha, hard cider, and mead of course. Flights run at $24 after taxes. Great to share if you're tight on cash so you can have the experience

Mead- the most underrated alcoholic beverage on the planet and one of my faves. This "drink of the Gods" can be misunderstood as being cloyingly sweet when in fact it can be anything but. If you haven't tried it yet, The Apiary is a great place to get a $22 flight. Plus, they're one of the few places that also offer alcoholic kombucha. I had a great time trying a combination of their classical meads, botanical meads, ciders, and hard kombuchas (jun). It was also my first time trying alcoholic kombucha and I think I liked it better than the store-bought non-alcoholic kinds. To my surprise, I liked the elderberry echinacea jun the best out of everything we tried in our flight. Of the meads, I liked the Gold Rush and Beespoke. The space is pretty small but decorated in a hipster-farm girl vibe. They've also got a small selection of board games. Service was knowledgeable and friendly. Parking was a breeze in the back.

I never knew that mead and cider could be so magical. This is, simply, one of the most charming places to visit - in the world.

Love this place! Beers and ciders brewed on site, unavailable anywhere else. Small and cozy, even if it was in a strip mall.

Ask the Community - Apiary

Very confused. Last time I came, non-alcoholic booch was for the free, but this time it was $11?

It’s still currently free by the glass in the tasting room but a growler fill + new growler $5 deposit = $11. Hope this helps!

Are kids and their snacks allowed?

Yes kids and snacks are welcome

Was seeing if you host wedding receptions at all? It would be a small group (25).

I'm sure they would love to have you

Do you serve growlers of any sour beers?

Right now we are doing 500ml growlers of 3 of our current menu items. 2 meads and 1 cider. We are a mead & cider bar only - no beers. However we do use hops in some of our brews, and some are very dry & tart, they hit the palate similar to a sour… Read more

Excellent brewery spot with great beer & relaxed service!…read more Located against the railroad track on the back side of the building, it's a bit difficult to find, but just drive all the way in to the large alley, I guess Maple Ave. Nice wide open set up, perfect for a cold beer on a warm day. Wife went for the Crimson Horizon, and she enjoued it. I got a sip and it was smoother butterier than the Firestone cali squeeze? I tried the Avocado Honey Ale since can't go wrong with description of amber honey ale! Was told it was a version of their kolsch with local honey. Wow, it was smooth with a bit of sweet finish, so addictive!!! Still had hours to drive so couldn't just have as many as I wanted, but I checked online and seemed Albertsons sold it so figured I can just pick them up back at home. But the gentleman resting at the bar told me he delivers their beer but only up to the hills. I guess maybe available in stores up to Camarillo, but not over that hill/mountain. I had to have more of it, and they had 6 packs in the cooler for purchase so went for a pack. The green cans are such delightful vessels to hold the even more delightful liquid inside. Wife even cut out the top and using the cute cans as planters, lol! The cans poured out at home was excellent as well, very fresh and refreshing and could get tiny hints of avocado on sips. Just a great beer! After browsing the brewery, it seems avocado honey ale is their signature beer, so I got lucky to choose that from the menu, lol. While enjoying the beer, the amtrak train blew it's horn to leave from the Carpinteria station, so we rushed out to wave and enjoy seeing that go by right in front as well. I am sure the locals were shaking their heads at our excitement of seeing the train go by, one gentleman when leaving even complimented my kid's dance moves from when we were out there to greet and send off the train, lol! Awesome local spot and great folks, just a very relaxing spot to enjoy the delicious avo honey ale! Just hidden so maybe not many visitors to Carpinteria find it, but I picked it out from search for brewery and chose this over the other one on the main streets. What a find for an out of towner! Hope they can expand out or grow their delivery area, maybe get it sent to total wine which must have a distribution center. Otherwise, this is a must stop for any SB trips for sure!

This is a family owned/operated wine and beer tasting room located in Carpinteria, with their vineyards located on nearby Rincon Mountain and in Paso Robles. Cool vibe entry area, with a large, garage-like back room and outdoor tasting areas. Parking available both on street and in a private lot in back. WINES: We were fortunate to have Jill, co-owner with her husband Edward, pour for us and the service was excellent. We tried 5 wines from the tasting menu, a '22 Storytime Rosè, '22 Susie Q (white Rhone blend), 2020 Dusty Vinyl (Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre red blend), '19 Tempranillo, and a '19 Monk (Bordeaux red blend). In addition, Jill also poured us a '22 Syrah. Again, all the wines were well-made and flavorful. We took advantage of the waived tasting fee and took several bottles home with us. You can also purchase wines by the glass or enjoy a bottle onsite. BEER: New since our last visit, Jill and Edward decided to brew beer, so we also decided to share a tasting. All ingredients are grown on their property and they're currently pouring a Lu Lu Lager, a Monk's Ration (Belgian Ale), and a Sal's Stout. The pours are generous and easily enough for two people to share a tasting. We're not huge beer fans, but these, especially the lager and the ale, were so refreshing and full of flavor. They're sold in 750ml bottles, and we took a couple of these home as well. I highly recommend a visit to Rincon Mountain Winery's tasting room. You won't be disappointed!
