Great spot for kombucha lovers! The drinks are fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Cozy atmosphere and friendly vibe

I love the Apiary. I decided to take myself out on a solo date to celebrate finishing grad school and the ciders, mead, and kambucha did not disappoint. I had some tasters of the drink your flowers. What I particularly enjoy is the cider - the cider is dry and not sweet. You can taste the intentionality and love in every sip. The ambiance and family feel make you feel right at home!

Very cute spot for drinks in an industrial building! We ordered a flight and got 6 tasters (very generous pours). The jasmine hops was the star of the show and I would come back for this drink alone. Also enjoyed the ginger turmeric, hibiscus rose, and wildflower! We were not fans of the Sierra madre or darkest flower (strange aftertaste). Great location since it's right next door to another brewery and an empanada spot so you can hop from one spot to the next. There was also a food truck there on sat afternoon!

I love this place. There's something for everyone. You can sit outside on their patio while you enjoy a drink, games like Jenga and empanadas from a few doors down. It's local, unique & delightful.

But we would try this place. Different than beer. Staff was very educational. Picked up a flight.. They all had very different taste to them. I did enjoy the vanilla one. Inside and outside seating. They also have games for the table to entertain yourself. They have drinks to go, canned or bottled. Will definitely re-purchase some in the future.

Our flight samples of mead, and a beautiful smile to go with the experience.

I love it when I show up that the love is shown and very welcoming. The vibe is very relaxing. The atmosphere is peaceful and friendly. No food sold here. But there is an empanada place closed on Sundays. I always like coming here. It keeps me coming back every time.

Quick Summary Great ambiance and fantastic kombucha on tap. Located a few blocks from the downtown area with plenty of street and lot parking available. Drinks- 5 stars The kombucha was fantastic. Tried the "Drink Your Flowers" and "Lady in the Moon" and they were both so delicious (I slightly liked the Drink Your Flowers more). Everything was on tap and you can buy cans/bottles to go Service- 5 stars Servers were nice. Typical brewery style where you get your own water. Cool ambiance with plenty of outdoor seating and some indoor seating. Parking- plenty of street and lot parking Bottom Line Great spot to check out if you're around the area and are craving some Kombucha.

A friend and I went to this place after I saw wonderful reviews on Yelp! I've gotta say, this place is small but mighty! The staff was so nice and went over the flavors of the drinks and his recommendation. The flight was $22 for six very generous pours. My friend and I each got a flight but we could've shared one. There is seating inside but also seating outside which was lovely given the weather. Just an overall relaxing time with good beverages. I'd highly recommend this place and to eat bring nibbles or buy some empanadas from Che a few doors down.

All hail The Apiary! If you've ever wanted to try mead, this is the place! With the guidance of Sir Miles, I sampled a few varieties. Both were delicious and had a fragrant aroma. I went with a few Darkest Flower/Avocado Blossom, and enjoyed them back in my hotel room by the sea. They have other "botanical beverages" (including cider and hard kombucha) here also, and you can hang out and interact in a patio area in the back. The Carpinteria Wine Company a few doors down is also fantastic. What a cool spot in such a cool little town!

Delicious craft drinks, great vibes, and friendly service! Came on a Saturday afternoon right at opening and our beer tender was kind to serve us even a few minutes early since we were already around. They have draft hard kombucha, hard cider, and mead of course. Flights run at $24 after taxes. Great to share if you're tight on cash so you can have the experience

Mead- the most underrated alcoholic beverage on the planet and one of my faves. This "drink of the Gods" can be misunderstood as being cloyingly sweet when in fact it can be anything but. If you haven't tried it yet, The Apiary is a great place to get a $22 flight. Plus, they're one of the few places that also offer alcoholic kombucha. I had a great time trying a combination of their classical meads, botanical meads, ciders, and hard kombuchas (jun). It was also my first time trying alcoholic kombucha and I think I liked it better than the store-bought non-alcoholic kinds. To my surprise, I liked the elderberry echinacea jun the best out of everything we tried in our flight. Of the meads, I liked the Gold Rush and Beespoke. The space is pretty small but decorated in a hipster-farm girl vibe. They've also got a small selection of board games. Service was knowledgeable and friendly. Parking was a breeze in the back.

Very confused. Last time I came, non-alcoholic booch was for the free, but this time it was $11?

It’s still currently free by the glass in the tasting room but a growler fill + new growler $5 deposit = $11. Hope this helps!

Do you serve growlers of any sour beers?

Right now we are doing 500ml growlers of 3 of our current menu items. 2 meads and 1 cider. We are a mead & cider bar only - no beers. However we do use hops in some of our brews, and some are very dry & tart, they hit the palate similar to a sour… Read more

I had no idea the magnitude of what I was about to experience. I sample kombucha every chance I get, and I can say with confidence that Revel has the best commercial kombucha that I've ever tasted! I had the pleasure of being served by Adam the owner, who is a superb beverage alchemist and has created an array of blends that are as beautiful as they are delicious. Revel is an apt name for these drinks as the sublime colors are as delightful as the pleasure of their tastes. The interior is spacious with minimalist decor, an attractive menu board, a feeling of earthiness with natural wood, and the clean brightness of white walls. It's the kind of place where you might meet a friend for a healthy drink, work remotely, or buy some growlers for a unique contribution to a dinner party. It was a gloomy rainy weekend, and I visited four times. I wasn't eager to go back out in the cold, and a few times I was the only customer so I had a chance to chat with Adam. I was intrigued to discover that Jun Kombucha uses honey instead of sugar for the fermentation process. I started home brewing Kombucha in 2011, and was taught that honey's antibacterial properties would block the fermentation process and kill the culture, aka SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast). Enter the unique Jun SCOBY which only feeds on honey. It was amazing to talk to Adam about his brewing journey. He poured me samples and it was difficult to pick a favorite because they're all so good. Even the bottles are a work of art carrying the theme of the business. Recommended 100%!

I tried the sunbeams which is citrus and vanilla but it was a little too subtle for my taste so I tried the Hoppy Valley, which is fabulous and my favorite is always the OM which is the bar in lavender. I decided to get the happy Valley for the first time and the nice young lady serving me said that I could mix a match so that made me really happy because no one has ever offered that to me before. I decided to get two of the happy Valley and two of the OM Which came to a total of $22. I signed up for the loyalty points, hoping to get my first purchase towards earning rewards, but the employee told me that the four packs don't count towards rewards. This is why I only gave four stars for the very first time because this didn't make any sense to me. Oh well. I guess things aren't perfect here after all. I will keep returning, but it made me sad not to be earning points for my purchase.:( Happy New Year's Day and may you enjoy the best kombucha ever and come here and try it. It's a really fun place to just hang out and it's nice and quiet and they have fun little games to play. I just added the review from four stars to five stars because Adam, the owner, responded to my constructive criticism and said that he was going to have the system changed to allow loyalty points to be earned when customers purchase the cans. He also added loyalty points to my rewards account for my purchase today. Thank you For being a responsive owner to your customers needs and coming up with a solution right away. That's what makes your store so excellent in addition to serving an excellent product.

It might not be as trendy as other breweries in the Funk Zone area, but I don't care. Quiet and laid back was the vibe we needed! I love that they are located in an old Spanish looking house. Beautiful outdoor options, charming, quiet, great to enjoy a meal at! I don't care for their indoor area - with TV-s playing game and lacking decor. Service was great, friendly, Sam took care of us, he was nice, kind, attentive! Had their Mac Brown, a darker nice beer, smooth and started our feast with their nachos, we added chicken on which was a great decision since it was marinated and freshly grilled, you could taste the nice flavors right away. Great guacamole in top, a fun dish! We continued with the fried dill pickles (they come with Ranch and Sriracha sauce), very nice, had fried pickles before (in the South) and they were too greasy. Not here, crisp and tasty, lightly breaded. We finished with the onion rings tower, panko crusted, delicious flavor! They have locations in Ventura and Carpinteria! I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about the entire experience. We were looking for a laid-back and unique venue, and Brass Bear absolutely delivered. From start to finish, the team (especially Emily!) went above and beyond to make our day perfect. The space itself is welcoming and full of character, while also feeling elevated and thoughtfully designed. We actually saved a lot on decor because the venue was already so beautiful on its own. The top things that really set Brass Bear apart (aside from the space itself) were the staff and the food/drinks. The staff -- Every single person we worked with was kind, responsive, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure everything ran smoothly and that it was truly the party of our dreams. They were incredibly accommodating, handled logistics seamlessly, and anticipated needs before we even had to ask. It honestly felt like they cared about our wedding just as much as we did. Also throughout the evening, on their own, the amazing staff checked in on me and the groom, seeing if we wanted a drink refill or a cup of water. The food-- Hands down the best menu we sampled while choosing a reception venue. We wanted a place that would have a spread guests would talk about long after the event, and for months afterward our friends and family were still bringing up the tri-tip and how good everything tasted. Not only was the main food insanely delicious, the welcome charcuterie table was put together beautifully with so many options. The drinks -- The open bar was fantastic! Brass Bear offered a great variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks as part of their open bar, the flow of guests being served at multiple bar stations stayed steady all evening with no bottlenecks, and they even helped me create a custom cocktail to match my purple hair. I also probably emailed (literally) a thousand questions throughout the planning process, and every single one was met with a kind, thoroughly explained answer, or a "let's see if we can make that work!" response, which made the planning feel like a breeze and really fun. If you're considering Brass Bear Brewery for a wedding, celebration, or any special event, do not hesitate. They helped create memories we'll treasure forever, and we are SO grateful we chose them. Highly, highly, highly recommend.
