We just pulled in off the freeway from Utah moving to Arizona, 13 hrs. straight through and was…read moreexhausted, I explaned to the front desk eactly what I'm here for, I was then regisered, again expained what I needed, then taken to triage again explained my reasons (These employees were very pleasant). I was taken to a very cold room. I again explained why I was at the hospital. Four times before seeing a doctor. I was told to strip down and put on a gown, I explained that I cannot do this by myself, they stripped down in this extremely cold room put on a heart monitor (which was not even near the reason for being here). The female Dr. with a strong accent came in and first thing she said very rudely "What is your emergency." I explained for the fifth time. She said "there is nothing I can do." I said "why"? She again rudely said "We only handle life threatening issues." I asked her to explain, she could not even describe what she considered a life threatening issue. She only repeated same tone thre times. I asked "do I need to be litrally dying". Then started to judge me and insulted my intelligence. Then it was on!!! We had blows!!!! I'm not proud of my behavior and the exhaustion of the drive got the best of me. I needed compassion and clarification, not rudness obscurity. THE ONLY REASON I GAVE 3 STARS IS THE HOSPITAL STAFF SHOWED COMPASSION. I should have been told at registration or at triage this hospital is only for seriously death or life. I would have gone to a different hospital.

The reviews are misleading... Before my son was born, I went through and read a lot of reviews from…read moredifferent hospitals and was nervous about going to Banner Desert - where my OB delivered. I could not have had a more dramatically different experience than what I saw in the reviews - it's safe to say that the management has heard your concerns! We came in at 9:30pm to a very full labor and delivery floor - cancelled the inductions for the day & a woman had been waiting for a delivery room for 7 hours longer than me... Things were not looking too promising. The nurse in triage, Kristy (I hope I'm spelling that right) moved MOUNTAINS for us. She continuously let us know what was going on on the floor and how my labor was progressing. When there was no delivery room available and the nurses were literally spread to their max, she found a way for us to get to a room to help alleviate my pain and welcome my son into the world. I have never felt more looked after than I did with her. Following that, the postpartum ward was delightful! The team that works in there is extremely respectful and caring. Food wise, pretty good! Not the typical icky hospital food that you hear about! If you get the chocolate chip cookie, put it next to a piece of bread for a little bit and it isn't as dry & oh so much more yummy! I hope & pray that everyone gets to have my experience! Even the OB who was on call... I don't know if I would have remotely the same delivery experience if it wasn't for him & his gentle encouragement throughout - you are the best Dr. Canestraro!

After surgery I called my insurance company & complained. They found that I was overcharged $3.200. Allie was my nurse towards the end of my labor and she was the nurse who helped me deliver my baby and all I can say is WOW! I will never forget how awesome she was and how well she took care of me. The postpartum care nurses (we had 6) were not as awesome as Allie but most of them were kind! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the postpartum care is not the best. They tell you to get as much rest as possible and feed baby but then they come into the room every 5-10 minutes. Not sure if that happens everywhere, this is my first baby. We also had issues with the cafeteria not delivering food to my room. Overall, my experience at Banner gateway was great and i definitely recommend delivery your baby here if you are considering it.

I unfortunately was not given the opportunity to experience the care at this facility due to the…read morerude interaction with the scheduler working 5/14/26 around 10am. As a healthcare worker, I appreciate listening to what my patients say and trying to offer them the same care/experience/ respect I would expect. I asked specifically by voicemail for a callback on a specific number to discuss the appointment. The scheduler decided to call back a different number( which thankfully I still was present for to take) When I asked if the vm I left was fully listened to and why the number I specifically listed wasn't used, the scheduler could not give an answer. Instead of trying to correct the situation, she decided to hang up and end the call. Very professional. I'm sure the PT I was intending to see was great. The facility was recommended by my MD, yet I will never know as this individual scheduler ruined this opportunity. I would hope the administration of the establishment would consider who they are using to interact with new patients to prevent this from happening to someone else. I currently do not recommend this facility.
