This is really two reviews in one. I went to Procare after surgery for a ruptured achilles tendon. After the prescribed course of physical therapy, i returned to the surgeon for assessment. He was unequivocally amazed at my condition, and declared my recovery to be three months ahead of schedule. I also had Procare treat my shoulder, which suffered from very limited mobility due to an ancient injury and surgical repair. Basically, the repair just wore out after 40 years. I had previously consulted with some of the top orthopaedists in the country, who opined that my only option was total shoulder replacement. Procare put me through a regimen of therapy that restored substantial flexibility and range of motion to my shoulder. I can now reach the top shelf of the cupboard, and scrub both sides of my back in the shower. All in all, Procare's work is extrordinary. read more

Based on my experience here, I personally would not recommend this therapist to anyone who would like to be involved with their treatment plan. Over all, the owner/PT was pleasantly nice, but very set in his ways. As a military wife having moved around a lot, I have undergone multiple therapy sessions due to a neck injury from a car accident several years ago. I chose this place for convienence, but also because the office staff are very friendly, polite, & professional. During the assessment process, the PT asked several questions & wanted to know what approaches or techniques have other therapists used. We discussed a treatment plan. He shared with me what he would like to do & goals he'd like to achieve by using a frequency machine that I was not familiar with. I've had ultra sounds & electrical stimulation on my neck, but he indicated this was not the same. He did explain in thorough detail on how the machine works & that the frequencies would stimulate deep muscle tissue. I kindly told him that I would not want to begin treatment with this machine until after I did further research, at which point the owner said to me, "I'm sorry I just can't work with you if you do not trust my judgement. I have been doing this for over 30 years, and I can tell, you know way too much and that's getting in the way of you seeing results. You need to go back down the road & find another therapist to work with." I apologized by saying, "I'm very sorry if I offended you, but I would like to research this machine first & read reviews." I also work in healthcare and yes sometimes that does get in the way- but, not in this case. I know my body and I know what works for me and what doesn't. I also want to be absolutely sure that this will not have negative or long-term effects. My motive certainly was not to undermine this man's intelligence, as he appears to be very informative, I only wanted to learn more about the frequency machine beforehand. I think most people in my shoes would want to do the same. This therapist was obviously not a good fit for me, but that doesn't mean he may not be a good fit for someone else. It's hard to describe the therapist and staff - patient, careful, tell bad jokes while they work miracles. My wife was diagnosed with a rapidly growing malignant tumor in her foot last November. Two weeks later the doctors performed a mid calf amputation. After a difficult two months, she was ready for her first prosthetic. Pro Care was a few blocks from our home. First visit she carried her leg in a bag. Progress was putting it on and standing from a wheel chair to a walker while trying not to put any weight on the prosthetic. Not a good start. Second visit she was able to walk bearing most of her weight on the walker and good leg while pretending to walk on the prosthetic. Therapists don't accept excuses. Pretty soon he was pulling the walker to make her keep up. Each visit the therapist introduced new exercises to get ready for the next steps. Way before she was willing, he took away the walker and introduced a forearm crutch. At first, each step was a struggle while being supported with a safety belt. Now, he follows critiquing each step. Steps and curbs are a particularly terrifying obstacle. So, each visit now includes stepping on and off is a practice platform then a field trip to the parking lot curb. To support the gentle tough love approach, I have removed the wheel chair ramps at home. Going to be walking from now on. Looking back, it's been three months from wheel chair bound to slowly walking with a single forearm crutch. Success and end of professional therapy is walking with a cane. Looks like that is a week away at this rate of improvement. It's been a physically exhausting, a little painful but mostly terrifying journey. Miracles take work sometimes. The therapist and staff at Pro Care work miracles daily. Update. In three months my wife has gone from wheel chair bound carrying her prosthetic in a bag to confidently walking with a cane. In keeping with therapy being just a little more than comfortable, worked with walking without the cane (security blanket) today. It's been an amazing transformation with a motivated patient and expert care. read more

I am heading BACK into Procare Physical Therapy next week for work on my arm. I came here to look at reviews as always and couldn't believe I had not left a review after my last experience. After being diagnosed with bursitis in both hips and trying to deal with it alone for months I arrived at Pro Care. After 12 visits with a machine, ultrasound, and lead exercises I was a new person.occasionally after overexertion I feel a twinge and fear it is coming back.... but I know what I will do if it does..Run as best as possible to this great place. I cannot wait to get in there and get my shredded bicep helped. read more

I would like to speak to the care or lack thereof provided by Pro Care. The physical therapist/owner was one of the nicest people you could encounter. However, his approach to my husband's total replacement was anything but desirable. After 8 weeks and 20 visits the surgeon demanded my husband abandon Pro Care and use another company to ensure proper treatment so my husband's future ability to be mobile would return. Pro Care did VERY little in strength and balance for the new knee. After eight weeks he could barely walk. His goal was only to obtain flexibility. As an estimation my husband's recovery is maybe four weeks (he says six) behind schedule. With the new PT provider the life has returned to my husband's eyes. He is walking very nicely and the strength and balance are returning to his knee. We felt a provider listed on the Banner approved list and were told they follow the prescribed protocols set by Banner we would have great results. How we were fooled. Banner should follow up with providers to ensure their patients are getting the best treatment before adding a provider to their approved list. The goal of this writing is to make people aware. We felt a very local provider would be a great benefit to the community. Now we feel bad if everyone gets the same type of treatment. Pro Care may have great results with some things but maybe staying up to date as to treatments would make them a better provider. We would never recommend this provider to anyone. This is tough to say because of the people who work there are very nice individuals. But nice does not make them a good Physical Therapy team. read more

In February 2017, due to Bells Palsy i was in need of Physical Therapy. I was fortunate enough to come across ProCare Physical Therapy. Lawrence Shauf was my therapist. Larry, was very knowledgeable, pleasant, very professional. I did have some concerns and was worried about my condition and prayed that i would find a good therapist, close location, and for a speedy recovery. And although my therapy was not long term for the short time i did have therapy it was very successful. Office staff and therapist assistant were very friendly, courteous, professional. The staff is kind, friendly and always willing to accommodate my schedule. Larry, the P.T. /owner is not only very knowledgeable but a kind and giving person. He is more concerned with your progress than with your ability to pay. He sets forth obtainable goals to help you reach your maximum physical abilities and get back to your normal way of life.
