Chiropractors out here feel like an insurance scam. When I found Dr Hoffmeir that changed. He is so good. He really knows the body. About this time a year and a half ago, I was limping in (sideways, crooked, and with painful spasms) to West Valley Wellness and Rehab with a bad back. About that time, I was visiting the hospital about once a month due to horrible, debilitating back spasms. My doctors, general practitioner, and a host of other current and potential doctors, surgeons and medical professionals all concluded that I should get used to "Pain Management". For you n00bs, that means ""lots of medicine". And the pharmaceutical companies rejoiced!! Unfortunately, I have a job that requires me to be alert, so that wasn't an option. Rather than mask the pain, I wanted to heal the injury. This is a philosophy shared by West Valley Wellness. What got me interested in West Valley Wellness and Rehab was they have a procedure called "Manipulation Under Anesthesia" (MUA) that I read about and wanted to see if I was a candidate. I qualified, and over several months, this gave me the physical ability to work out and build my core, muscle base and get confidence to get back on my feet for longer periods of time. It didn't hurt, and I have more mobility now than I had when I was 20. Long story short, I came in broken and am now doing great. At West Valley Wellness, not only did I train, but I just ran my first Mud Run with 3 other patients in November 2013 (It was a 5K). When I first arrived, and for years prior to that, I couldn't walk two blocks down my own street. Dr. Jason Nielson - at least in my view - is a true lifesaver and I continue to see him regularly for help with working out, getting "cracked" (adjusted) and when I have trouble with my back. That, and his staff cares. They're friendly. The facility is clean. Out of about 6 places in the West Valley that I've visited, this is the only one that has shown results. I recommend them and .. well, maybe I'll see you there.

Extremely disappointed with ATI Physical Therapy and their billing practices…read more Before I even scheduled my first appointment, I specifically asked them to verify my insurance and tell me exactly what my cost would be per visit. I was told it would be approximately $60. I intentionally waited several days for them to verify my insurance information before moving forward because I wanted to know the cost upfront. At my first visit, I was charged $65. It was $5 more than quoted, but I didn't make an issue of it. Now, approximately 25 days later, ATI is trying to charge me an ADDITIONAL $95 for that same visit. That brings the total cost of ONE physical therapy visit to $160. When I called customer service, I was told the original $65 was supposedly only a "deposit." That was NEVER explained to me. Had I been told that $65 was simply a deposit and that I could later be billed another $95, I would have never agreed to the appointment. What makes this especially frustrating is that I specifically asked for the cost BEFORE scheduling and gave them time to verify everything with my insurance. Their customer service experience only made the situation worse. Patients deserve transparency about what they are agreeing to pay. Quoting someone around $60, collecting $65 at the appointment, and then nearly a month later billing another $95 is completely unacceptable to me. I would absolutely NOT recommend ATI Physical Therapy based on my experience. If you decide to use them, I strongly recommend getting your expected TOTAL cost in writing before receiving any services.

I shortly afterward actually met with Dr. Siwek, Jr. He's a good doctor, knowledgeable and good at explaining options and treatments. The whole good nature of his practice goes completely down the tubes when it comes to communicating with this operation. No matter when you call, you are going to be on hold anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. Then you are greeted by the unfriendliest of receptionists, who can't wait to pass you onto yet another line, where you'll wait another 20 minutes before you'll get disconnected. And when you choose the option of leaving a message to "save your place in line," you'll also never hear back from them. Also, the party that sets the appointments showed little empathy for me (can only assume all folks get the same treatment) having to wait 6 weeks in strong pain to get into see anyone in any of their offices. Siwek Sr. needs to either hire more people, and/or find someone to better train his existing employees to remember who his patients are - people in pain!

So this is my second time through a round a PT here at this location. It's my shoulder this time,…read more but last year it was my knee after surgery. I have to give the employees at this location a 5. They care about helping their patients get better and learn how to keep progressing at home after therapy is over. The PTs and PTAs that I have had assigned to me have all been polite and knowledgeable. I even forgot my to go cup there one week and they went out of their way to keep it several days for me until my next session (that's above and beyond as it would have been easier on them to throw it away. It was even rinsed out). Equipment all appears in working order and is kept clean. The front desk staff are also very competent and great to work with. Here are the downsides (which in my opinion are mgt issues outside of the control of this PT location so I didn't ding their review: They are busy as in it takes 3-4 months from referral (even from their own doctors) to evaluation. They do prioritize surgery patients (so no wait time there) and took can take your referral for PT where ever but that seemed liked more work for me than waiting and I couldn't be bothered this time. You can't call the PT desk directly...and that's annoying... you have to call the CORE main number and eventually you get transferred to them (this does take more than 15 min usually so hang in there!) All in all I would use this location and core again for PT, once you get in.... they are great.
