My garage door broke completely out of nowhere (I guess as they do.). I called another company who said they'd call me back (they never did) and while waiting, I called Apex. It was 3:30 in the afternoon, and yet they still were able to come out same day. I had the great fortune to have Yehuda come out, and he very patiently explained to me what had broke, and said he could easily fix it for me. About an hour later Yehuda told me the door was done, and then explained to me what else I should do to make the door work better. He told me I absolutely didn't need to do it, but doing so would ensure a long term fix to my door, so I agreed. He spent another couple of hours on the door, and had it working fantastic. He also explained exactly what he did, and what I would need to do for years to come to make sure my door continued to work well. My only slight frustration is I wish I could have seen the quotes/estimates before everything was done. It was of course verbally said to me, but I work better visually, so at the end, it ended up being a bit more than I had calculated in my head. All good though. I had a great experience with Apex Garage. We used them when our garage door went off track and when we wanted to replace the cheap/loud rollers that came with our home. The owner, Yehuda, was professional, knowledgeable, and super responsive. Yehuda was able to come out the same day. He realigned the door and afterwards even took the time to explain basic maintenance tips to help extend the life of our garage door and motor. He also stands by his work and offers a warranty. I took advantage of the warranty when at one point I had a noise concern and he came back to check it out. Turned out that the issue was related to the original installer's poor workmanship (mounting bracket was not securely anchored) but Yehuda fixed it anyway as a courtesy. I worked with Yehuda to replace my garage motor / track and weather seal. For the garage motor and track, Yehuda quickly determined that my electrical would need to be modified, allowing me to get an electrician in to remedy the issue before we started the garage motor installation. We had low ceiling and a beam, and he was able to work around these challenges to get the new motor/track installed. For the weather seal, he also quickly determined we would need a custom part for my older garage door. He installed a new adapter and an off-the-shelf seal so I can now service it myself. One of my garage door springs broke, so I called and scheduled a repair appointment for the next day. They came promptly and on time, with a nice courtesy call when they were on the way. They gave me their estimate of $120 per spring, which I got confused by and thought that was per side because there are two springs on the left and two springs on the right and the last time I bought a spring myself I remember it being around $60. I agreed to the estimate terms and wanted to do both sides (replacing the old springs too) so they left with the broken spring to make sure they were getting a correct match. The actual repair took no time at all and together we also discovered that the up travel limit switch was broken. I will try fixing that on my own since parts are no longer available. I asked him the total thinking it was going to be around $320 and that was when I realized my misunderstanding and it was actually $120 per spring. I had just bought four of them. I recognized that the misunderstanding was mine so I didn't make a fuss about it and paid them, but later I looked online and the springs are readily available at a local hardware store for $30.98. I think a 400% parts markup is ridiculous. so be warned. However, they also spent their time that morning determining the proper part and purchasing it and driving it back. Time is money and gas ain't cheap so I can't get too upset out it. I debated a four star rating, but everything is expensive these days and they need to eat and support their families too. Their representative was very nice and helpful throughout the entire experience so points for that too. If and when I need to replace the opener, I will be calling them back. read more

I backed out of my garage while the door was still going up. Derp! I managed to mangle one corner of the bottom, and then wedged the door all crooked after trying to get it closed for the night. I called Apex and was able to set up an appointment for the next day. The technician worked magic! Even though I did significant damage to the bottom panel he was able to get it functional enough to use until we can get the bottom panel (or entire door) replaced. I was expecting to not have any parking use of my garage for weeks until new parts could be ordered, shipped, and installed.
