Our HOA recently had ADS repair the frames of two security gates that were rusting out of the concrete and install a new access system. Arturo came by and wrote a detailed estimate for the gate repairs and a few options for entry systems. The estimate was half as much as a competing company. Arturo also performed all of the work and did an excellent job. The job entailed cutting out rusted parts and welding new pieces to the gate frames and securing them into the concrete. He also installed a telephone entry system and a cellular voice and data adapter control box. He explained how to activate the cellular service, and got the system up and running. I started programming the system while he was completing gate repairs and was really helpful and knowledgeable about some questions I had while programming. Arturo accomplished all of this in just a few hours. The gates now work perfectly as does the entry system. I also worked with the office scheduling the work and were available for any questions I had. I highly recommend ADS. read more

I contacted ADS for an estimate to replace my garage door opener after it stopped working. The technician was professional and courteous, but the pricing was extremely disappointing. I was quoted around $1,500 for a basic opener and rail replacement, which seemed far above what other reputable companies in the San Diego area were charging for comparable equipment and installation. After getting additional estimates, I found significantly better pricing for similar and better products without any reduction in quality. As a homeowner, I don't mind paying for good workmanship, but I do expect pricing to be fair and competitive. Unfortunately, this estimate felt excessive and made me question whether I was being upsold. My recommendation is simple: get multiple quotes before committing. I'm glad I did, because it saved me a substantial amount of money. read more

My Better Half and I could not be more excited with the pricing and service provided by Art of Automatic Door Specialists!!! Not only did Art come in under our budget but now we can open the gate from our cell phones and with it's Camera we can see who's at our gate!!! Art recommended a DoorBird Gate Controller for our ancient LiftMaster Elite system and as our internet signal was weak at the gate Art installed a WiFi extender that now gives us much better outside coverage. Thank you Art and Automatic Door Specialists! We couldn't be happier to join the 21st Century! read more

ADS just installed a pair of single garage doors at my home. I received text messages indicating when the installer was on his way, as well as a photo and name of the installer. They spoke to me about details of the installation to make sure it was done as I wanted. The operators were very quiet, so it doesn't make a lot of noise when I use it. Overall, I am very happy with the product and the installation. read more

Jorge showed up on time and was very friendly. The company sends you a text beforehand with a description and photo of your tech which I found comforting. I have a Lift Master garage door opener. On Superbowl Sunday 2026 I was gone from my home from 3:30 pm to 9:00pm. I closed the garage door with my remote in my car when I left and watched the door close. When I returned home the garage door was open. I called ADS and technician Jorge Mendoza came to my house for service. I told him what happened. He said the only way the garage door can open is by using the remote or the button on the garage wall. He said the light of the back of the unit was not lit showing no problems. This is a lie. I had the same problem 2 or 3 years ago and the technician told me then it could be a dying battery in the remote or a short in the wires in the motherboard. I asked Jorge if he had checked the battery and he said no. I forced him to replace the battery in the remote. read more

Contacted ADS this morning about an issue with our garage door. They were able to have a repairman arrive at our home within an hour. Jorge Mendoza introduced himself and proceeded to check out the garage door and immediately spotted the problem. After some preliminary inspection and garage door measurements he outlined the problem and the various options in replacing the defective parts. He thoroughly outlined the options along with the costs and warranties. After settling on an option he immediately went to work and having the parts readily available, was able to fix the garage within an hour. Garage door is now working perfectly. Couldn't be happier with the result along with the very reasonable cost and the included warranty. I would highly recommend using ADS for your garage service and commend Jorge Mendoza for his excellent service. read more

I took advantage of a special maintenance service price because our garage door is 15 years old and making lots of noise as it opened. Our tech, Jorge, was on time and was very thorough checking our system. He showed us how each part of the door was rated in terms of wear. We ended up replacing the rollers which made the door open and close easily and quietly. The reduced resistance on the motor should buy us many more years with this door. Thanks for a great experience Jorge. read more

Jesus came out today and solved the problem. The auto garage door would close and then reopen without stopping. Took about 20 minutes to diagnose the issue. He replaced the mechanism that connects the motor for controlling the door, which was quite worn. Jesus was personable and knowledgeable and did not try to upsell us on anything, which we seniors appreciate. ADS was the original installer of this system and our experience with them over more than a decade has been great. We will continue to use and recommend them. read more

Great experience. I got a text with the technician info and a picture right before he arrived. My technician James was polite, very helpful, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. He suggested the repairs my door required and even took time to explain what each part did and why it was important to replace. He was kind and I never felt pressured. He made the repairs in the time he had quoted and was willing to answer any questions. He replaced my burned out light bulb in the garage just because it was too dark. I never even asked. What great service. He even cleaned up perfectly, I would definitely call them again. read more

Jorge showed up today to do the annual tune up on my garage door. He worked for about 45 minutes and performed the necessary tests and adjustments. At the end he made a recommendation to someday replace the rollers since the door (that was installed by ADS) had been in service for many years and the ball bearings will at some point wear down. He had records that show all the services and the motor replacement that was installed a few years ago. All in all he provided exactly the service needed at a fair price. I thank Jorge for his professionalism and ADS for continuing fine service. I have great faith in ADS and look to them for my garage door service and repair if needed. read more

From the first phone call to inquire about my garage door problem and through the final repair, the company team members were friendly and professional. There was a gap under the door where the cement was not even. In addition, the door was a newer model from Germany that Jorge had to figure out how to reset the closure, since the repair changed the height of it. I didn't have the manual so he tried different reset procedures. It was obvious that he was very experienced and skilled with resolving garage door issues. He was also very respectful and friendly. It's hard to find companies these days that "prove" they really care as opposed to just being nice initially to try to get your business. I highly recommend ADS and will use them again if I ever have any issues in the future! read more
