He took the time to carefully measure everything, explain the work clearly, and helped our community make the right long-term decisions instead of just the cheapest fix. The quality of the concrete work turned out great, and what impressed us the most was the follow-up service after completion. When we had some concerns about curing color variation, Joe personally came back with his team to inspect and take care of everything right away. That level of responsibility and professionalism is rare nowadays. Very fair pricing, great communication, and a team that truly stands behind their work. We're very happy with the result and would gladly work with RC Concrete again in the future.

He sent workers to my home on a Tuesday without any prior notice, and they told me they would return on Saturday once I had the sealant ready. To make matters worse, they didn't bring enough cement for the job and started using my own bricks to fill the space without asking or discussing it with me. This showed a lack of preparation and professionalism. Based on my experience, I would not trust what he says. He will leave you high and dry with unfinished work and zero communication. I had to use my own rope for the barricade. 2) In the last several months, I noticed that the cement is chipping/breaking off in different areas of the driveway ramp (even though my family park our cars in the street and rarely use the driveway ramp) and there is one hole in the sidewalk! When I called to ask David, the owner, why this is happening, he said that he did not know but he used good cement and did a great job. I then asked him to come to my house for an inspection but he said that the warranty is only for 12 months and he refused. He never provided me with a written receipt because he was out of them at the time. For verification, I spoke with another contractor, who informed me that the hole and the chipping are likely due to not thoroughly mixing the cement, which can lead to lumping/clumping in the cement mix. See attached pictures. 3) David did a horrible job of reinstalling the red bricks on one border. They are noticeably crooked and uneven compared to the rest of the original bricks, which were installed about 30 years ago. See attached pictures. For comparison, I inspected my neighbor's sidewalk and driveway ramp, which was done by another contractor about 4-5 years ago and I did not notice any chipping, cracking or holes and the overall workmanship looked very professional compared to the work done by this amateurish company.

The results at the end of the project were exactly what we had envisioned - it's super clean, smooth, and exceptionally well done. What really made them stand out from all of the other quotes we received for this project was the very detailed quote, the quality of work we could see in their previous jobs (yelp reviews), and most of all the quick responses/communication. They didn't just remove my old concrete and pour new, they actually helped move and adjust parts of my sprinkler system in multiple locations so that not only would it not get damaged, but would be accessible when I need to repair/move it in the future. That level of care and attention to detail isn't something you will find with every company, and I really valued it. They worked efficiently, always arrived on schedule, and communicated clearly throughout the entire process, so I was informed at every step of the way of what was happening, and what to expect. When the job was done, they cleaned everything up like they were never here, except of course for the beautiful new concrete. The quality of their work is genuinely top-notch. They take pride in their craftsmanship and it shows. Honestly, they were worth every penny of the contract, and I'm thoroughly glad I went with them. For anyone considering concrete or masonry work, I can not recommend Veliz Masonry enough. I would absolutely not hesitate to hire them for any future masonry work and look forward to future projects with them.

Veliz Masonry did a number of projects for us. They removed old, water-stained paver bricks from…read moreour front entry atrium and replaced them with new pavers, seamlessly tying into existing brickwork for a superb look. Another project we had was to remedy an efflorescence-stained faux rock wall resulting from an ill-designed waterfall feature put in by the previous owner of the house in the front entry atrium. Otelio, the Veliz Masonry owner, contacted the manufacturer of the faux rock wall and discovered a staining method that could be used to bring back the original colors and luster of the damaged wall (see photos). They did an absolutely wonderful job of restoring the wall to its original beauty and we couldn't be happier with the results, which exceeded our highest expectations. Finally we had Veliz remove about 120 lineal feet of loose or damaged brick capstone off of retaining walls in our back yard and replace them with a high end Sonorastone flat wall cap (see photo). Again, Otelio and crew did a masterful job of installation to greatly enhance the beauty of our backyard. Otelio, his sons Manny and Diego, and his brother Gerry, were the crew who did all of the work. They performed in a highly professional manner and paid attention to every detail to ensure a super high quality job. Prior the starting the work they meticulously prepped the work area to protect against damage and were very conscientious about cleanup as the work progressed. They kept to the work schedule, showing up on time each day and putting in a full day's work with excellent communication throughout the duration of the project. It's refreshing (and rare) to find such a great contractor that is so attuned to the customer's needs. Veliz Masonry is the real deal and are honest, courteous, hard-working and very talented in their trade, providing a superior product at a fair price. If you're looking for a five-star masonry contractor I highly recommend you give them a call.

Finally he had me call him over FaceTime to discuss what needed to be done for our project. The issue is a shared wall between myself and neighbors and Dan said he has experience dealing with this. I sent him photos for our quote since he said that would be all he needed. This was on 11/30. I never heard from him again despite calling, texting, and reaching out thru Yelp. It's very disappointing but I guess it's to be expected when someone is already difficult to reach at the onset. In any case finding a reputable contractor who is reliable and response is key in any project. If you have someone that doesn't respond or reply its red flags for sure. Update: Thanks for responding, Dan. Your reply actually proves my point. For the record, I never asked you to help with anything "fake." I asked for a quote -- the one you said you could give based on photos -- and then you stopped responding. That's all this was about. If you simply told me this project was not for you that would have been the end of it. You ghosting and then responding to me on Yelp in such an unprofessional manner is what is crazy. Calling the situation "fake" also shows a misunderstanding of California property law. Tree-root damage to a shared wall is a real, common issue here, and nothing I described was unusual. Your decision to jump to insults is exactly why I warned others about your lack of basic communication and professionalism.
