Welp, washer and dryer still out of service, so we came back. The lady that was working there today was really, really kind. She was so helpful. And she stayed on top of cleaning, organizing, and communicating with the customers when there are open washer and dryers. I felt the place was a bit cleaner than our first time. I mean. Y'all, it's a laundry mat. You're not going to Apex Coin Laundry to find your perfect match, well, unless you're a lost sock, then maybe I can see it happening. Our dryer broke, new one can't come for a week, we have three smelly children who all play sports ... you see where I'm going here? I figured since I was already investing my time then I mine as well just take allllll the laundry and get it done at once. And boy did it all get done at once! Literally all 5 dryers I had going stopped at once. I was doing a juggling act trying to fold it all before wrinkles set in. But. I got it done and now we have all the clothes (and towels and blankets! Even though it's a record heat wave today) to last us until our new dryer gets delivered. I'll break it down for you. Quarters are your friend. Bring LOTS O QUARTERS. You can make change there if needed, but seriously, bring more quarters than you think you need! A wash runs between $4-$5.50 depending on the machine and the cycle you choose. The dryers are 25¢... the ultra big dryer that can hold 5 loads of laundry is 25¢ for four minutes of drying time. (Yes, you read that right). The more normal size dryers are 25¢ but you get a bargain of seven minutes drying time there. All the machines worked fine, the dryers dried well. There are baskets on wheels so you can roll your threads to an fro with ease. A few counter height tables to lay all your unmentionables out for the world to see. It's got a 'gas station bathroom in the middle of the desert' vibe going in terms of decor. But again. It's a place that washes dirty underwear full time so what do you expect. Overall a good experience. Friendly manager (he held the door open for me) and the other laundry patrons were lovely as well. Bring your own hand soap and toilet paper or plan to use the bathroom elsewhere... but overall, it served its purpose for me and I'm sure I'll be back again sometime in the future. read more

Okay so my dryer broke and we had wet clothes in the washer. What could we do? I had to run out to a coin opp laundry to get the clothes dry before they got funky. The giant dryer here got everything dry very quickly and their convenient fold tables made the task pretty easy. I thought this place seemed really clean and well run for a coin opp laundry. read more

I've tolerated this place because of its location. Never again will I come back. After the being called a "mother fucker" various times by the older guy that works there. Because his washer did not properly complete a rinse cycle. And caused my comforter to still be soaked and dripped water in the floor. Never again. read more

There is no pride of ownership by the owner whatsoever...it's so sad.....garbage all over the floor (broken /missing pieces of linoleum everywhere) holes in the walls.....piles of dust/dirt everywhere......and the bathroom...unspeakable....so sad...I will find a new laundrymat to take my comforters...... so sad read more

Bumped a star since a worker stopped what they were doing to open the door for me and my clothes as I was leaving. I didn't expect that.

Place is still run down; but, my expectations were low, given the location. First, they do have a couple quarters machines onsite that say it can change out 1-5-10-20s, so no need to stop for quarters first. It is a weird mix of size of machines. They have a few industrial size washers and dryers. Then, the rest of the washers are about the size of your "he" (high efficiency) washers at home. There are some older washing machines and here's my biggest gripe. I came in with two rolls of quarters. It seems like the model of washers they have the most of are very stingy - like they are sensor-reading fake coins. My one piece of sage advice is to make sure the washer takes quarters easily as Step 1. I followed the instructions - 1. load washer 2. pour in detergent/softner 3. pick cycle (perm press, etc.) 4. pay. So in washer #1, it kept rejecting my quarters. I'd put one in, it would get "stuck" or not register - pressing the coin return button did get my quarter back. But, I found myself having to push these quarters in at high speed to drop into the caddy and be registered. It's $3.50 per load (so 14 quarters) - I must have had to try about 25 insert attempts before I got to the magic number. On washer#2, I must have had 15 insert attempts just to get 50 cents to register - I just gave up and chalked up the loss. Wasted almost 5 mins doing this. For the dryers, the two commercial size ones were avail. The other 20 or so are smaller dryers. My first load was towels, as they take longer to dry. I had about 8 bath towels in the commercial dryer. You get 4 mins for a quarter. I started off with 16 mins on high and they still weren't dry. Probably took another 16 or 20 mins, which makes me wish I had tried the smaller dryers (that everyone else was using) - I believe you get more mins/quarter on the smaller ones. Also, with the large drum space, it seems to have given my clothes the freedom to tumble their way to being inside-out. Besides socks, 90% of my items needed to be turned from inside-out, which is time consuming. As someone else said, the place is hot. I folded at a back table by the thermostat. It was set to 78 and the temp was 85. No entertainment really - no wi-fi. Front TV is for the employees to watch some foreign shows. The back TV was American but no sound - like the CW or some other awful channel. Also, no other stores to browse in the strip mall. Circle K across the street and there is a Ice cream or sno-cone hut nearby. Make sure your smartphone is charged. read more

We were traveling in our motorhome without a washer and dryer, and staying in a nearby State Park. I always go online to locate laundries that have good reviews and an attendant on duty. Normally the attendant ensures the machines and business are clean and assists the customers as needed. The Apex Coin Laundry was close by and had reasonable reviews. That was a HUGE MISTAKE. This was absolutely the worst laundry I have ever experienced anywhere in the U.S. The owner was outside talking to another man for at least 30 to 45 minutes. The air conditioning was turned off even though it was a warm afternoon and the washers and dryers were producing an enormous amount of heat. There was trash all over the floor and inside the washers and dryers. Three washers I checked were full of dirt. I cant imagine anyone trying to clean clothes in those machines. We decided to stay for two reasons, we were not familiar with the area and the online reviews showed this laundry better than any other local laundry. We ended up with eight loads of clothes because the washers were so small, unless you wanted to mix your permanent press, towels, etc in a larger commercial machine. Three of the washers didn't spin the clothes at all. Water was dripping from the clothes when I put them in my basket. The dryers took 25 cents for seven minutes. Even though I put very small loads of clothes in each dryer, we continually fed the dryers quarters but they weren't hot to dry the clothes. We spent $3.00 to $5.00 on each dryer and I still left this laundry with damp light weigh shirts on hangers, not to mention towels, underwear, and other items. My husband spoke to the owner about the dryers and he said to put four quarters in the dryers at the same time, but none of the machines would accept more than one quarter at a time. I spoke to several people and everyone was having the same problems. There is no doubt that the owner had the gas dryers turned to the absolute lowest setting so he would make a bigger profit. When an attendant arrived and the owner left, she folded sheets and let them drag the dirty floor. Later she closed the back door, turned on the air conditioner, then swept the floor. No one cleaned the washers or dryers (inside or outside). I recommend you AVOID THIS LAUNDRY and drive the extra distance to a laundry that takes pride in their establishment by keeping it clean and maintaining their machines. I wish there were negative ratings so I could rate the laundry honestly, but I had to rate at least one star for this website to accept my review. There are not enough laundry carts. I think that they cut down the amount of water that is used in the washing machines. It is a very tight space to move around your clothes from the washing machine to the dryers. There is not enough seating for you to sit while you wait for your laundry. read more

I've been coming to this location for about 3 weeks now (one per weekend) and I have to say, it's highly underrated. The woman that works here is always very friendly and helpful. The first time I came here (I hadn't been to a laundromat in 15 years and needed a refresher on the machines) I was a little nervous and couldn't get one of the machines to take my quarters. She kindly came over to help me without me even having to ask. Although some of the washers are a little outdated, they are well priced ($3-6 for small to large) and are very easy to use. It's a small store, pretty narrow, but the environment is very relaxing. Everyone is polite and helpful. I, along with practically every other person in the world, loathe laundry day. But I drive 20 minutes from Fuquay to get to this place because it doesn't make me anxious. I will continue to be a customer here at Apex Coin Laundry and would recommend it to anyone! read more

I come to this location very rarely due to the closing time. However today I didn't have much to wash sheets, comforter & some towels. I used #23 & the one directly beside it in the back. #23 is one of the two largest washers they have. I always put my detergent & softner in before the money and I always start the machines at the same time. I proceed to start both then wash as the prewash starts. #23 has 32 mins & the other has 31. The other non numbered machine started, water flowed & I could hear the water in the compartment pushing the detergent. I saw suds. Now #23 wasn't at the same point as the other. So I waited, went outside to put the detergent & softner in the car. I come back and still no suds. I check the compartment, and the water is trickling out the spout & its going around the detergent (powder). At this time, I push the remaining detergent in the chute while the water was still trickling. I wait, still no suds. Then I notice the timer still states 32 mins. (Remember I went outside & waited a few mins). The other non numbered washer was at 26 mins from 31. Clearly, there's an issue with the machine. I go tell the older korean/chinese male attendant that the machine is broken. He comes down & says this cycle is slow. (I selected colors premanent press). He starts pushing buttons, I hear the water streaming hard. Louder than before. He walks off. Now I'm thinking he's coming back, he doesn't. He goes back to the front & gets on his phone. I walk up, he's watching some movie or video & ask so do I get my money back. He says no. I said the machine isn't functioning properly. He said it is washing. He walks back down to them. I said I started both at the same time. The non numbered one has suds, #23 doesn't. He starts saying this one is larger & this one is smaller. I said that shouldn't make a difference in how it works. He walks off again. Again, I'm thinking he's going to get something to do something. He goes back to his phone. By this time, I'm about to lose my temper. So one more time, I go back to the front. I said I want to switch washers. He says you have to wait, I can't stop it. Ok fine. I ask so do I get a refund. He said no. I'll wash it for you. I said ok thank you, that's all I wanted. By the way, the non numbered washer didnt spin all the water out. I know they could have a little water since they are towels. This wasn't a little, I put them in the basket to wheel over to the dryer. By the time I had them in the basket, there was a puddle of water in the floor. Customer service lacks with this guy which is why I'm writing this review, which I never do. I feel like I had to go above & beyond for a 5.50 wash. And I was still cheated out of 75 cents, since the wash he did was 4.75. I hope management reads this & decides to have their employees trained on customer service & check their equipment daily or weekly. People are wasting their hard earned money on crappy equipment. read more
