The email confirmation for my day pass.
Alina G.

I drove 30 mins to this facility because I had a waiver for a day pass. Got together my protein shakes, hair ties, toiletries and any other items I may need just to get turned away. Due to their Negligence of updating their website, I was forced to drive all the way back home. I can't be in there because "I'm not a member" but their website ALLOWED me to get the waiver for a day pass! Website failed to mention that it's members only due to COVID. It's frustrating due to the fact that I wasted time and gas. Very inconvenient!!!!

Even when it seems crowded, there's still plenty of seating

Price too high for McKinney single seniors and not some classes that I'd like. Not as much of a fan as I've been for several years.

OVERPRICED. $50 just to swim for three hours as a non member (2 adults 1 child) that's absurd. Beautiful facility but other options nearby

Good price for Seniors. Great place to walk and use a few machines. It is all that I need and has better hours than the last gym I joined.

Ask the Community - Apex Centre

Can I bring a cooler with sodas, or does it strictly need to be water only?

How many squat racks?

Great question, Rene. Apex Centre currently has four squat racks and two smith machines, not to mention all other equipment that will work for the same muscle groups. Come check us out with a free tour today!

Can I bring a cooler with water in it to the waterpark area?

Yes, you can bring a cooler with water. All coolers are subject to check. No glass or alcohol. See you there!

What is the cost for my 17year old grandson yearly membership? or can we buy a 6 month membership? thanks

It depends on residency. $300 if he's a resident. $400 if he's not. They only do yearly ones. Or you can buy day passes.

I have been a member of Lifetime Fitness for over 20 years (based at the Plano and Allen…read morefacilities) For a place that calls itself an "Athletic Country Club" with the continually increasing prices to match, this place does not live up to the moniker. In particular, as a customer of the Allen Spa I have never understood why the spa did not have it's own bathroom facility. Massages, facials, and hair appointments frequently take a while. It is reasonable that someone would want to use the restroom before, during or after a service. The idea that you have to walk across the entire facility to the locker rooms for their 5 aged and sad looking stalls in the ladies locker room seemed ridiculous and potentially embarrassing. So the "brilliant" answer was using the much closer "family" bathroom in the "family" locker room. That was workable, but certainly not a great answer. And now they have decided that Spa clients are no longer allowed to use the "family" bathroom. I do not know the real reasons why, but I assume it has something to do with not being a "family." Locked out! So we are now fully expected to trek our foiled, caped and oily bodies across the very large and very public facility to those previously mentioned locker rooms. I know of no country club that would expect its members to parade around in such a manner, nor inconvenience their hard working stylists and therapists with a bathroom so very far away. I really wish the Lifetime would fix this situation. It makes visiting the Spa stressful rather than Zenlike and peaceful....which is how a spa should feel.

I trained with Anna Hubbard and honestly she is probably the rudest person I have ever came into contact with. She didn't pay attention to me while I was performing an exercise, she made rude and amuse comments about OTHER members (almost making fun of the way they were exercising), and she had this whole attitude towards me like she was BETTER than me. I first thought it was my imagination but after speaking with several other members regarding my experience they only CONFIRMED my HORRIBLE experience. I never give bad reviews but after almost leaving in tears because she commented on my weight and how there was no wonder why I am the size I am, I will NEVER be visiting this location again.

The trainers here are exceptional--they're constantly watching your form during lifts and providing real-time corrections to ensure you're working safely and effectively. The gym itself is impressively clean and well-organized, with equipment always in its place and ready to use. What really sets this place apart is the structured programming: every quarter you test your one-rep max, then follow a tailored program designed to increase your strength over the next three months. I've felt myself getting stronger week by week, and the staff has been incredibly accommodating with modifications as I manage knee arthritis. Cody deserves special recognition for keeping things fun and engaging. Right now he's running a bingo card challenge where hitting certain objectives earns you a Starbucks gift card, and during the holidays he did a "12 Days of Christmas" raffle for everyone who showed up. These little touches keep you motivated and create a great community atmosphere. If you're looking for a gym with knowledgeable trainers, smart programming, and an environment that makes you actually want to show up, I can't recommend Harter Strength and Conditioning enough.

My son now loves going too and it's perfect for his using the free weight area. What keeps me going to this gym and keeps me working out: 1. Easy no appt or class time necessary... just jump in 2. The fun tabata-style circuit is changed out daily and focuses on different body types 3. It's an all-level workout so you make it as challenging as you want and let's face it some days I don't feel like doing it but that brings me to this next... 4. It's only 30 ish minutes! You DO have the time and it feels great to workout even on those days that are tough 5. Last but not least Adam has a vast amount of knowledge and is a trainer so he or a team member will show you how to do the exercises properly or how to modify if you have an injury. 6. Actually I lied and one more :-) This is a locally owned gym in Allen so I'm happy to show support and EVERY time I walk in they greet me by name and are all so incredibly friendly. So torn how to rate them because I love the idea of the place, but it's just so filthy. I've seen…read moreso many reviews of how clean they are, but in my experience, it's the dirtiest gym I've ever been. I see some of the trainers push around a mini dust buster or use dirty, dust coated dusters pushing around more dust and dirt, but I've never seen anything be sanitized or any cleaning products come out. The corners of the gym and the bottom of every machine are coated in dirt and dust. The sign in desk is always coated in a layer of dust. They don't even bother to turn on the fans anymore because they are so dusty. I mean COATED. Speaking of fans, it's always boiling hot in there. It's uncomfortable. They need to spend a little money and have the place professionally cleaned minimum once a week. All other gyms I've belonged to hired DAILY cleaners. I don't think once a week, especially when they're only open 6 days, in a building where people sweat and touch things all day, is asking too much. They also need to get rid of their (basically empty) glade plug ins. Somehow the gym rarely smells, which is great, but those plug ins emit VOCs and are terrible for your lungs. That's the last thing you need to worry about in a gym where breathing is key. And crank up the AC year round. I know it's expensive, but that's the nature of the business. I wish they had a few more machines, but for the size of the place they have a nice set up. It could be a great little neighborhood gym. I enjoy going, I'm just always worried about getting overheated or sick. They have a good thing going here. Everyone is nice and respectful. Just needs some TLC.

In addition to the treadmill for 45 minutes, I am also working out with weights. Jonathon is a very methodical trainer. We get a lot done in those 30 minutes of weight training. Jonathon is an excellent communicator. He enjoys talking and making sure that your form is on par. He genuinely cares about his clients. The gym is very adequately furnished. The price of membership is very reasonable. I believe it is only $20 per month. There are no children allowed in the facility. I will continue to come here six days a week and train. Since starting, I have lost over 60 pounds.
