Apetit Quadrio is a nice delicatessen + cake shop in one located at the -2 floor of the shopping mall Quadrio (which sits right above the B line Narodni Trida stop).
Their cakes are nice and well priced, so they don't have to be just a one-slice indulgent treat over a coffee - if you have a party coming up, this would be a great place to buy either a whole cake, or a mixture of generously sized cake slices from the big variety of flavors and cake styles on offer.
As far as the savory goods go, l I think Apetit is an ideal spot to grab a cheap and quick on-the-go meal in the center. I personally hate it when I end up hungry in the center without time to properly sit down in a restaurant, and am left with a limited choices of fast foods or overpriced sandwiches. Apetit does have sandwiches and the traditional Czech 'chlebicky' (open sandwiches), but beyond, it also carries a nice selection of Czech meals such as schnitzels with potato salad, various meats with mashed potatoes, etc, all wrapped up so you can also have them to go. The range of salads isn't particularly impressive, but a vegetarian should be able to find something.
I think this range of quick but wholesome lunches is the best part about this shop, and was sorely needed in this part of town.
I haven't brought home any of the cheeses/pates/chocolates from the delicatessen, but the range of cheeses looked decent and also carries cheeses native to this European region, such as the famous Slovak 'bryndza'. read more
