Amazing beers! While the beer garden was full when we arrived, we were able to sit inside and enjoy their amazing (and extensive!!!) list of beers. It's a really cool concept where you share the types of beers you like and they will hand pick a selection for a flight for you. I loved almost every beer I tried (although I should have mentioned I don't like grapefruit because they gave me 2 grapefruit flavored beers). Be specific!! We also got some sausages and hummus that were a perfect snack pairing for our drinks. The Czech Republic drinks the most beer per capita in the world, so they know their stuff. Great craft beer spot in Prague! Probably about 100 beers available and they'll do tasting boards or flights.. just tell them what style or styles of beer you like and they'll put together a flight for you. Only three or four beers on tap but they pour out of the cans and bottles for flights too (first time I've seen this at a beer bar). We ordered a flight, told him what we liked and he did a great job putting something together. Service was on point! They have seating inside and a large beer garden outside. I LOVE me a sour beer, and in the land of pilsners, you'd think you wouldn't find one. But you'd be wrong. I came across this spot on a Google search, saw pictures of the sour beer offerings, and I was sold. So when I was in town for a week on a work trip, a few of us made plans to come here and check it out. I was NOT disappointed. There are three beers on tap, and everything else is in a can. This is the first time I've seen this, and I found it pretty cool. The first time, I ordered a couple beers to drink on site, and the others I bought to take with me. The second time I came, I ordered a flight. They remembered me from earlier in the week and made detailed notes about what I'd already bought so that I could try new beers. My favorite thing (at least about the sours) is that they were ALL from Czech breweries. So it was such a unique hyperlocal experience. As for the space, there's plenty of seating inside, and also a nice outdoor terrace/garden that is ideal when the weather is good (it was not when we were there). This was our first food stop in Prague! It was close to where we were staying and after dropping off our luggage, we ended up here for a beer and snacks. Although they had flights, I wasn't in the mood to sample and just ordered their special of the day - a pilsner that was on draft and it was a good choice. Also got the pumpkin seed hummus which was delicious. My husband got sausage plate which came with pickles and their brown bread (tastes like rye & wheat and we ate this bread often during our stay). The server and the bartender were very helpful and made good suggestions. It was a bit crowded in there so it got a little loud, but it was fine since although we were seated so close to others everyone was friendly. Stopping here at U Kunstatu was a good way to start our trip! We got some energy for walking around old town in the freezing cold and wind lol. This, is, a textbook example on what a craft beer bar should be. The service was really friendly. My waiter came and asked me what kind of beer I like and I said all of it. He responded with that was what they liked to hear. I got the flight and all the beers he chose for me were outstanding. They have a large beer selection hailing from various places around the world, and they also have a cool array of rare/interesting bottled beers that come in 0.3-0.7L; they also sell typical beer garden snacks/food. Service was superb: thank you to the gentlemen originally from Idaho for talking with me on my solo travel and showing me some interesting beers, cheers mate! The garden has numerous large tables, indoor seating near the bar, and catacombs (yes, you read correctly), next to the water closet. I am way too long overdue for this review but better late than never. About 1.5 months ago I read about this place on TripAdvisor and decided to stop by for a quick beer and bite to eat but had such a great time I stayed for a couple hours and proceeded to drink more than a couple of beers because the staff and selection was so fantastic. I started my evening there solo at one of the outside seats with a few small plates and a beer. After about a beer's worth of time it started to rain so I went inside and sat at the bar where I was told by the bartender that there is a historical basement if you are into that sort of thing. After talking a bit more with the bartender and owner they offered some of their own suggestions and even gave me a bunch of samples and a few free beers before the end of the night. I forget how many because...reasons. The guys and gal running the place were super down to earth and just great to get along with. Really, visiting U Kunstatu was one of the highlights of my stay in Prague and my only regret was going to this bar just one time. This place was one of the highlights of our trip to Praha. We came here one night, but they had already closed. So we came back early on our last night, but they were again closed for a private gallery event (there is a gallery space downstairs that is pretty cool). We told the guy at the bar that we were leaving and couldn't come back the following day and he told us if we don't mind him being interrupted, he could help us. We were SOO HAPPY and EXCITED! We stayed for over 2 hours, tried 10+ different AMAZING beers, learned A LOT about Praha, beer, how to taste beer (breathe out of your nose to taste extra), culture, and soo much more! It was awesome. Beer is everywhere in Praha, and it's super cheap compared to the US, however, it is pretty hard to find their specialty beers. U Kunstatu has done a fantastic job of gathering a great range of quality beers to try. The Bartender and one of the owner's sons talked to us the whole time, when they weren't doing their normal job for the gallery event. It was awesome to just hang out, chat, and drink GREAT BEER in a cool environment. I think usually the tasting is split amongst more people, as it's a tasting ... but since we were the only ones there, each taste was half a beer! At some point we needed food, and they graciously allowed us to pick up take out to bring into their establishment. (Not sure if they normally would let you do this as I believe they do offer food). We stayed pretty late, and one of the owners popped in towards the end of the night. We chatted with him for a bit, took some pictures and drank a little more. He was super nice as well. You can get beer at any restaurant in Praha, but you cannot get the amazing range of quality beer U Kunstatu has. This isn't a pricy for what you get, but it is more expensive than ordering a normal beer at a restaurant in Praha because these are specialty beers! Definitely recommend this if you have an evening in Praha and love beer! If/when we ever go back to Praha, will definitely visit this place again! read more

What a great little hidden gem! This beer garden is off the beaten path by a block or so, and is nestles in a cute, cozy area offering privacy and a break from the hustle and bustle of old town. The beers are reasonably priced, and delicious/ and are all brewed in the CZech Republic. We got a flight then each got one of our favorite beers as well. It was reasonably priced and the service was great- very friendly and knowledgeable, giving great recommendations on beers we may or may not like. A really nice blonde bartender (he is the only reason this is a 3* review) let us know we could took a look downstairs while we were here, having a beer.
