It was close and had authentic food. Prices were pretty much what I paid elsewhere for the same food. The staff is not the friendliest. And I get it, this is geared more toward the locals. Definitely much more attentive to those speaking the language. As for the food, good but not as good as nearby places when considering it is the same price. My wife absolutely hated her salad with chicken. Particularly the dressing. for sure you will be the only tourists in here. Luckily if you ask for it they have an English menu. The servers were very nice the one lady didn't really speak much English so she had this after the general in the bed. He spoke enough English to get her order. We started with the cheese plate it's kinda boring but quite a bit of cheese. The roast pork and sauerkraut with dumplings was excellent. The goulash was rich and delicious my potato pancakes I think we Little Bird it's still pretty good. The sauce in the goulash is outstanding. This place is currently priced right because it is not for tourists. If you want a real Czech experience I recommend this highly. read more

This is a pretty quiet corner pub with lots of locals, mostly male customers. Very simple restaurant but it's nice if you just want to chill and have a few small bites to eat. We got the cheese platter (Brie, blue cheese, and sliced deli Swiss cheese), the fried sausage (with a pile of horseradish, it's good), GET the fried bread with garlic (I would get one order per person). Great neighbourhood pub atmosphere. Smoking section upon entrance and non-smoking section in the back. Staff are friendly and helpful, and food is very tasty. They have great lunch combo deals that are very filling and inexpensive! Over a few days, we found ourselves visiting here a couple of times and was able to try their lunch and dinner menu. Have cash, they don't accept credit cards, yet. read more

Good Czech bar with cheap price. Inside there are several rooms, some of them you can drink beer in the noisy company, some to eat in a relaxed atmosphere. The beer is great, the average price of 1,25 euro. The food is simple, but it's enough to eat well. Menu on the tables in the Czech, but there is a menu in other languages, including English. Just happened upon this place as it was the first restaurant we found after being dropped off by our airport taxi. Was completely surprised. The pork with potato dumplings was easily the best version of this dish we had in Prague - I had a second order after finishing the first. The sauerkraut was also so good and complimented the plate well. Also, it was super cheap - equivalent of $3USD or so for a plate of delicious Czech food. read more

A nice, cozy restaurant that was close to my hostel when I was in Prague three months ago. The steak was pretty good and the beer was super cheap. The entire meal was 200-250 CZK, which is decent. The service was OK but not the best. And the restaurant isn't non-smoker friendly, which seems to be the norm in the Czech Republic. As an American this definitely took time getting used to. Overall I liked the food and the ambience for being authentic, but the service could use some improvement. read more

As an American walking into this place for the first time (it was our first time at a restaurant in Prague period), it was extremely intimidating. Apparently we were supposed to pick a table, walk through a room of pretty much solid smoke (a quick reminder that they still smoke everywhere in Prague) and find an open spot in one of the many rooms they had. It's a cute place, decorations are homey and simple. Food is simple Czech food. But damn is it GOOD. Service was prompt but don't expect them to smile at you and try to be your best friend. It's a different culture from America's "kill you with kindness" mentality. Just don't take it personally if they don't laugh at your jokes. As someone said before, which I read first to find out for myself, they do have menus in English but you have to ask. One star deducted for the amount of cigarette smoke that fills the front room and slowly seeps into the rooms adjoining. read more

A very nice, cozy and rustical restaurant with a kinda pub area in the entrance. The waitress that served us was such a darling. The prices are very inexpensive. The wine and beer are so delicious just like their food. Was my birthday visit and I got a surprising plum cake wich was so so delicious. Usually I don't even like plum but this cake was finger licking good! Just like your grandma made it. :) The wine (chardonnay) is very good an inexpensive as well as the beer. We had the pork knee with briskets. It was filled with grease and fat. The meat wasn't good as compared to the price with other places and the waiter simply said "No" when we asked for credit card payment, although it said that they accept credit card on yelp. Ridiculous. read more
