This wasn't the fault of Ape Do Good, but rather defective transfers from their heat press vendor, but Ape Do Good still surprised me by reprinting (front and back) my entire order for free just to make sure nobody else's shirt would develop problems in the future. Great local print shop!!!! We had a big order of 200 hoodies. 1/3 of our hoodies were stuck on back order due to a problem with the manufacturer (NOT the printer). Anthony (Owner) and Kathryn were responsive, knowledgeable, and SO helpful! They worked with me to provide other options, samples, etc., and my final branded hoodie order turned out even better than originally thought! It was an absolute pleasure working with Ape Do Good! We ordered three different colored shirts, all in different sizes and styles, each with slightly different variations on our logo, and not once did I sense any hesitation or resistance to any of our mix-and-matching. Whoever "Ape" is, they indeed do well. In addition to making quality tees on-prem, they are so incredibly kind and easy to work with. Because they only do bulk orders, they put in the time and interest to work with you to find your perfect design the first time. Put in an order of 72 American Apparel tees that were a mix of sizes and styles, and they were able to meet our deadlines with no issues. Although I didn't find the online t-shirt templates very useful, they do provide a good starting point to get the ideas flowing. Great place for first-timers and experts alike. read more

First, and best, group of screeners I've dealt with. twice already, actually. Though the jobs were small (~24 shirts in total), Helen's been so nice to us with the quoting and with helping me out through the whole process. these guys are GREAT!!!! They were referred to me by a former co-worker who is a pretty picky designer - alright he's just plain anal about design details. So if they were good enough for him they'd good enough for me - right? Yes they were. We went yesterday - me and our art director, Shadia - for the press check and am so glad we chose that option. Anthony ran a first print for us and what looked great on paper wasn't so hot on a shirt. We tried another placement of the logo and we're still scratching our heads. While Shadia and I are agonizing, Anthony runs another on his own with placement he thinks will work, tosses it to his assistant, Tim who jumps into fashion model duty without missing a beat by putting the shirt on for us. We tried Ape Do Good because their turn around was faster than another printer we used. Prices are more expensive than other printers, but in a pinch they were ok. Over the span of 1 year, we had 5 designs screened. The first 3 were ok but when we had a reprint of one of them, signs of poor screening began to show. I am not sure if the quality control at Ape Do Good is becoming Ape No Good. We just had 2 designs done (5 colors each) and I'm very disappointed to say the least. Owner Anthony blamed dot gain as the problem and "that it occurs on every job". Maybe to some extent but it seems more often now than before at Ape Do Good. So how can a customer be assured that their job will be printed same as the artwork sent? No answer from Anthony. So, in a nutshell, whatever you drop off to have screened, it will not be as you sent it. Just cross your fingers that you'll get a discount after the fact as I did. They might be fine for simple 2 color jobs but not for 3 or more. Oh and as for the mockup issue...they call it a press check and its an additional $75. Yes, you would need to pay an additional $75 so that you can sleep good knowing that your job will be printed same as the artwork you sent them in the first place. read more

Cool local screen printing company. They have all the clothing products they offer to print onto on racks for your viewing/comparison and will quickly provide you a cost comparison between different brands or extra colors, etc. We placed a smaller order of 38 shirts and got all of them in a good quality Hanes Tagless ComfortSoft tee, single colored, all for less than $10 each. Turn around time is 5-10 business days (depending on the order), but they had ours done in 7 business days! If you're considering ordering online, don't waste your time. Go put your hands on what you're looking to order and support this local shop! read more

OK. I have a tshirt company so having a great printer is obviously key. I used to use a guy in LA, then a crazy guy here in SF, and I thank the lord someone told me about Ape Do Good. It has made my life so much easier and more pleasant. They are great to work with, super nice and friendly, quick turnaround, great prices, utterly fabulous. If you have any printing job to do go there because I have tried them all and they win in every category! Big jobs, small jobs, complex or not- it always works out great. And to the haters who have written a negative review of them... I seriously do NOT understand what you're talking about. I actually can't imagine how you could have felt so much vitriol when working with these great folks who contribute so heartily to the benefit of the Mission District community and produce such a fine product. I work with them on several projects a month, and their good work is critical to my business's success, and I have never had any issues, not one time, only well-priced, great quality results. Ditto everyone else I know who has used them- and I have referred lots of folks. All of them have been more than pleased with the results and the process. On another note I am personally not a fan of folks who review things that they themselves have not experienced personally, and who just join in on the lynch mob with their peers- so I would take that review with a healthy grain of salt. Yelpers do that all the time with restaurants as well and it's frankly unfair. Would you review a movie you hadn't seen based on what someone else told you? This is my first yelp review... I just created this account because I simply had to write a review about how awesome Ape Do Good is! These guys did a fantastic job for my dragon boat team's t-shirts and hoodies - in fact, they turned out way better than I could even imagine! Additionally, not only do they have great prices compared to other printers we received quotes from, but they also have great order flexibility (allowing you to mix several different colors and sizes in the order w/out the need for a minimum and without extra charge!) and EXCELLENT customer service. And in regard to the other customer who said they didn't get a mockup of their order: Ask, and ye shall receive! After I OK'd the mockup, they had all of my garments printed and ready for pickup the very next day (one day earlier than the deadline)! I'll definitely be coming back when I need more stuff printed, and I highly recommend them! read more

Helen was incredibly attentive and turned our job around a whole 4 days ahead of the scheduled delivery date! Shirts were very professionally printed and showed amazing amounts of detail in areas that are typically challenging to print. Only thing lacking in their process is an option to proof work prior to a print run. But I'm sure this could be arranged if necessary as they seem pretty accommodating if you are a local customer.
