This is my first time coming here, they really are authentic regional Mexican food from Michoacán. The service was very welcoming and nice. It's a friendly talkative man at the register and a nice lady in the kitchen as the cook. They have a tv playing if you want to watch, and can ask to change the channel if you need. I got the "morisqueta plate" with pork and it is honestly really big, it's a great value. It can feed two people. I shared this plate with my mom, she could vouch that it was really good. The pork was very tender and flavorful, no hard rough pieces. We also got a "mulita". These two things together cost $19+ change. I will definitely return to try other plates. Great place. I came here to try the enchilada Michoacana ($13.99) which is enchiladas with onions, cabbage, sliced tomatoes, red salsa and fried potatoes with cheese and cream piled on top with a piece of fried chicken. I never tried it before but it was pretty good. The enchiladas were covered in red sauce and it was hot and the sliced cabbage and tomatoes went well with it. When I crave tacos or burritos, I typically look for taco trucks around Claremont and Pomona. There's also the late-night burrito places. This is the local shop that I like for basic tacos and burritos. We have another place that we like for quesobirria tacos, but I like this place's al pastor tacos. I forgot that this place doesn't have air conditioning, but they have good ventilation and overhead fans, so it's not too big of a deal. I had a carne asada burrito, two tacos al pastor, and a Coke in a bottle. I'm also making this review as notes for myself. The asada is tasty, but I think I'd like the al pastor or carnitas next time. I also need to ask them to keep the burrito whole (I don't like when they're cut in half). The first time we came, they didn't have anyone that could speak English, but my Spanish is good enough to order food (even if I'm a little slow) and I'm not too picky about what I eat. (If I order the wrong thing, it still usually pretty tasty). When I went here this week, they actually had someone that could speak English. When I went to order my tacos after finishing the burrito, the chef in back greeted me with "Qué tal?" and I hesitated a bit, so he got the English-speaking guy. I felt bad, because I think I could've ordered okay, but was just a little taken aback. I wanna keep this place in business, because I like the people and the food. I also looked up what Apatzingán was, because I knew the name was "My Beautiful (something)" and it turns out it's a city in Michoacán. I didn't ask if they were from there or not, and I don't know what the regional food is, but I hope to find out what the specialties are for my next visit. THANK GOD FOR YELP !!!! I woke up this morning CRAVING menudo so I looked up Mexican restaurants on yelp and this was only a mile away !! It's in a kind of shady area but if you've grown up in Pomona it feels just like home First things first this restaurant is REALLy small. There are two bar seats and six tables so you might have to wait. Servers are super sweet and accommodating. It was difficult to order bc I don't speak Spanish but we managed. Food came out a little slow but we noticed there were only two servers and one person in the kitchen but holy jeezus if you take that into consideration then they got it out at lightning speed I got menudo and my friend got cheese enchiladas and two asada tacos and horchata. It was so good and authentic !!! It really hit the spot but we were still a little hungry so we got a Mexican Coke, two more asada tacos and a hard shell potato taco and it did the job. I also got my mom two asada tacos and two beef hard shell tacos for my brother and EVERYTHING came out to just under 30$ !!! I bought a menudo to-go this morning from this place. It's a decent menudo East of L. A. When I got home to warm it up I noticed that it was full of the stringy fat that come from the tripe not being thoroughly cleaned. Some places make it like this but this spot is known to have a cleaner menudo with little tripe fat. But this time it was way more than usual. The problem arouse when I called and asked to speak to the cook or owner. First, I could hear that the lady/owner did not want to come to the phone.The lady (Maria) then came to the phone and she and had an attitude as if I was asking her for a handout. She appeared forced to offer me a refund, although I never asked for one. Her lack of customer service has sadly forced me to write this review and to not eat there again. I hate to do this to a small business. Maybe she can reconsider her current customer service skills and show courtesy to her future customers. Customers pay her bills. read more

This little place is a hole in the wall but it's pretty good. I was a bit hesitant at first but I saw a sign that said birria. To my surprise they have hand made tortillas which is a huge plus. I ordered and horchata I asked if it was the machine kind or made there. It was made fresh it was ok lacked that cinnamon flavor horchata usually has. I loved the salsa they bring out with the chips.
