Unfortunately I got full and didn't get to try the tamales and gave them to a family member. (They looked good though.) I'll be honest and say that my partner had come here before and ordered a pastor taco and I took one look at it and couldn't get myself to eat it. It looked inedible. But based on this experience alone I would most definitely come back for the barbacoa alone! I'll try to get to the tamales next time. My husband asked a simple and reasonable question about whether the restaurant offered a military discount because he is retired military. Instead of answering the question, the server took the check and walked away. She did not say yes, no, or provide any explanation. I then watched her speak to another employee about the request while looking toward our table. When she returned with the new check, she dropped it on the table without saying a word and walked away. This was not simply a case of slow service or a misunderstanding. We were treated with a level of rudeness and disrespect that was completely unnecessary. A customer asking about a menu item or a military discount should not be treated as an inconvenience. What makes this experience particularly disappointing is that we have been coming to Guaco Taco for years and have had good experiences in the past. We know the restaurant is capable of providing good food and good service because we experienced it just days before this visit. Unfortunately, this particular visit left a very bad impression.
