Rude owner lies about closing and is horrible never consider them treats you like a problem lord to me said he was closing which was a lie!

We love or pets...so so so love them...My dog was a rescue from years of abuse at a puppy mill...she had to go through a lot of work and surgeries at the vets to get her to be the wonderfully happy dog she is today...but then we took her to this salon only to be tortured again....a bloody cut up tail and cut off whiskers leaving her totally disoriented is a flash back to the horror we saved her from. If you love your pet: NEVER bring them here...NEVER! We put our loved one in the care of another to have them have a better life and it goes 100% the other way. Save you and your pet that pain. Worst phone service ever. The male attendant on the phone was stern and it just felt like I was wasting his time. No walk ins- nail trims only between 7:30-8am M-F.. totally apathetic. I think I'll trim my dogs nails at home from now on.... Update: after reading the other reviews I called and asked to speak to the owner as it has a female voice on the line. The gentleman stated his name was Chris and he was the owner. She was verbally combative and yelled at me at I never spoke to him this morning. When I reminded him of the conversation he because verbally abusive and hung up. Don't go there. Spend your money on what a mess at 300 w Apache trail. So I called to try to schedule an appointment for grooming and the guy who answered did not even introduce himself and or the business and then was hurried and I wanted to have my 4 year old MINI labradoodle groomed and he said that the business does not do large breed dogs. I continued to say she is a mini and weighs only 13 pounds and won't get any bigger and then he proceeded to refuse to help us and then eventually said that the business does not service doodles. I have taken my dog there a few times. He always gets a little nervous when I take him to the groomer but going here he almost acts traumatized. He came home and hid under the bed. The grooming looked ok. But I won't be back because of the guy behind the counter. He is rude and obnoxious. When I picked up my dog he supposedly peed on himself? And the guy was flat pissed off. He took him and washed him off and dried him before he brought him out. My dog has never done that before. I have to think my dog wasn't treated well , because he has never acted like that before. Have taken my dogs there seasonally for several years. I am very happy with the groomer! The gentleman that runs the desk needs to have some customer service training and listen to them! Very rude! I had issue last year of getting them to return my call to request appointment. I've left two messages within three days over the last week requesting they return call to schedule appointment and am still waiting!! I only get a voicemail message when I call, so there is no other option but to leave a message. They were convenient for me and really liked my groomer, but have decided that it's not worth the hassle and will move onto someone that truly wants my business! read more

I have been taking my Cocker mix rescue to Apache Tails for over 3 years. She was skittish at first. Over time she calmed down. We worked with the same groomer the entire time. My issue isn't with her. It is with the owner/ guy behind the desk. He is rude and flippant. It really isn't that difficult to be pleasant. He doesn't even try. They are now enforcing a mask mandate after the CDC is relaxing their guidelines. I didn't have a mask with me so I wasn't allowed past the front door. When I went back to pick her up I found out they had raised their price without even letting me know in advance. I am done paying his prices to be disrespected by him. I will start looking for a new salon that has nice people and treat my dog with care. read more

I have been taking my Miniature Aussie there for at least a year now. I always set up the next appointment when we pick him up. Yesterday I tried to set the next appointment and the man at the desk told me they won't do big dogs any longer. We chose this place because our previous groomer retired and closed the business. I have given them two chances now to earn a good review from me. But the guy they have at the front desk has zero people skills and is quite rude to customers. He doesn't look you in the eye if he looks at you at all. He gives one word answers and acts like you're mere presence is an inconvenience to him. If I were the owner of this business, he is the last person I would have greeting my customers. Even when I said thank you at the end, he didn't even acknowledge me. This prompted me to say "Gee, you don't talk much, do you?" He just glared at me without saying a word and went back to his computer. There was another person who had left a few minutes before I did. When we met outside he told me he was never coming back here again because of the way he was treated. I will never be back either. There are plenty of places in this town to have a dog groomed where are you are made to feel welcome and like you are appreciated as a customer. This place is not one of them. read more

I am adding my experience with the owner to the many, many poor ratings. this guy acts like the customer owes him something just for being there. extremely rude every time we have been there. we like to arrive a few minute before any appointments so that at the appointed time we are not holding anyone up, messing up they're schedule. We feel that this is a benefit to the business owner, and do it as a courtesy. this morning we arrived for the appointment a few minutes early, the sign on the door said open, so we thought that they may like to get started a little early and went to the front door. pulled on it, only to find it locked. We sat on a bench and waited for the doors to open. When we did enter, the owner says " you don't have to keep pulling on the door". I told him that we thought that they were open, because the sign said open! He denied that the sign was in the open position, and continued to just be an ass. We had already planned on finding a new groomer, but since it was one of the groomers that checked us out, not the owner, we made a appointment just in case we couldn't find a new groomer soon enough. Figured we could cancel as soon as we found a new place. We did inform the groomer that we were treated extremely rudely by the owner and didn't appreciate his attitude. About 20 minutes later, we get a call from the owner, not to apologize for his behavior, but to tell us that he had canceled our grooming appointment and to go somewhere else. The thing that bothers us the most is not knowing if our pets were safe in the business. After all, if the owner is that rude and disrespectful to his customers, I can only imagine how our pets may be treated When we aren't there. It's a shame, because his groomers are very good, but until this owner is gone, I don't feel the place can be trusted. read more

Awesome location and the place is so good , they are booked out two months . I brought moms poodle there and not being a big fan of small dogs but I swear they know how to cut them so cute , it could persuade a big dog lover to reconsider . My only issue was the less then personable man answering the phones . He acted like someone calling was just an annoyance and the attitude was almost enough to tell him what I thought about his crap attitude . As wonderful as the groomers themselves are and the talent in that facility, the bad attitude and long wait times , won't be considered next haircut for the poodle . It didn't just happen once but twice . So staff , best of luck and know I would recommend any of the girls working on the dogs but I don't want to put up with a crappy attitude and negitive vibes. I've brought our small breed dog to Apache Tails Pet Salon maybe five times. The actual grooming was good. Since our first visit the man behind the desk is as rude as they come! I returned only because we were new to this area and I didn't know my way around. I think it was in late April our dog had an appointment- fellow calls me the day before to cancel, saying groomer is in hospital- he'll get back to me. I wait 2 weeks, No Word. I call there, left a nice voicemail- no response. So I actually went down there 2 weeks later, I was rudely told 'groomer is back to work. My dog will have to wait- he'll call back.' I've never heard from him since! We go to a different place now, where we are treated nicely and with respect. read more

We are new to the area . I made a phone call and they got me in right away. The place is clean and friendly. Our groomer was professional and very nice. My dog came out very clean , soft and smelling good. The groomer made it a point to tell me how she did and made me feel like she cared. I will be a steady customer at this grooming shop. So I really like this place, I have a Great Pyrenees & a Great Pyrenees/German Shepard mix. They did a great job on both my dogs and we have brought them back a couple times. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that when I called the other day to schedule an appointment I was informed they are no longer servicing large dogs!! Recently took in my standard poodle for a wash/style/nails. Very happy w/results. Staff friendly & knowledgeable. A 20" wait to p/u as they were busy........, Overall very positive experience. I have been taking my pup there for some time now (about two years) and I never had any issues with the grooming, they always did a fantastic job! I gave them three stars because the guy booking and taking phone calls has horrible customer service skills. It's not a one time occasion, I usually just brush off how impersonal he is. However, recently he actually made me feel bad about having to reschedule. (This is not a frequent thing). I let him know my car broke down as I was on the way and showed little remorse for the fact that I felt bad about rescheduling. regardless of how great they are at grooming, i can't fathom giving my business to someone who is so rude and can't understand people sometimes get put in situations they can't help. read more

Called to get a price for grooming on my dog and couldn't get a clear answer. The lady sounded like she knew nothing. "Uh, I think it'll be 40-45." Are you kidding me? I will go down the street to Petsmart for $20, and I know they do a fantastic job there. I try to give people benefit of the doubt, this place is next door to where I live, and the reviews are all mixed. Not so great ones on Google. I'll take my business elsewhere. =) read more

We rescued a samsky (samoyed-husky) and took him to Apache Tails for his first grooming. He was in rough shape. His coat was horribly matted, tangled and dull. He's an adult dog and hadn't been groomed in a long time, if ever. If you're familiar with either breed you know how fluffy they are and have two coats of fur. Olivia had her work cut out for her and she did an amazing job with him. He was bathed, brushed, trimmed and shaved in sensitive places he couldn't be de-matted. His coat is smooth, shiny, unmatted and he's so happy. We are very pleased! At the end of his appointment she went over what grooming tools we should use at home and how often. She pointed out areas we need to focus on and we scheduled his next appointment. I am so impressed with this salon and will definitely continue taking him there. I originally wanted a mobile vet so I wouldn't have to drive anywhere but they do such a great job I'm sticking with them!!! The shop is very clean and everyone is so friendly. read more

I have been taking my pets there for a long time. However they have this man at the front desk who is rude and condescending. I could tolerate his attitude as I was only there long enough to drop off, pay and pick up my pets. However this week he called when our pet was done and I told him we were coming back from Phoenix he immediately got rude and said this isn't a daycare. When my husband picked up the dog and tried to talk to him about his rudeness he just shrugged his shoulders and didn't care. We will no longer being using this facility even though they are close to our home and we liked the groomer, he is not tolerable. They have lost a years long customer. read more

Have been taking my 2 Toy Poodle crosses here ever since my former groomer retired and the prices went up $10 overnight. I don't understand the negative reviews, either. Sounds like two different shops. The one I go to does take checks or cash. I'm not bothered by that because they are the same as I paid at PetSmart (which was NEVER $20 for a full groom!) and MUCH less than my old groomer. Credit cards are expensive to process for a small business. My kids have been groomed by several different groomers, there, and I have never been disappointed. They look perfect, but, more important, they love to go there! They get all excited when I say the word "groomer" and they can't wait to go. Kathy and her staff are fabulous. I routinely take my two dogs here and have never had even the slightest concern. My Pomeranian always comes out looking gorgeous and her paws are perfectly trimmed. I will NOT be bringing my dog here anymore due to the fact that my dog has broke out in bumps all over her body that are full of puss (I'm sure due to the types of shampoo's they use). She itches and has gotten ear wax bugs in her ears (probably from other dogs since she's an inside dog and is never around other dogs). Take cash, for there cash only! The nails on my pet dogs were cut straight, nails should be cut from upward direction or else they grow into pads, which is what happen to them both. When I came to pick them up they were tied to wall up front alone, it's like a sweat shop to get as many animals done as passible. No more 100.00 for wash and trim? Naw I need their nails to be healthy, now I will have to pay vet to cut because of deformed growth I went back to give them another chance, when I can 4 hrs later! My two pets were tied to the front wall on a 1 foot lead. My one love so so happy to get out she peed on the floor, where I said I would wipe up. They said let it go we will clean, as they walked other pets out of sweat shop. They over book pets for cash only. Are they paying taxes? All the older people in my community use this business. They like it cheap, not the quality of their pet care. My dogs were kept for 4 hrs, without water! They drank for a long time and had not been taken to potty. I found Apache Tails Pet Salon on Yelp after having an unpleasant taste left in my mouth from another salon. As luck would have it I was able to get my Lily in within a day of calling. My dog was a mess! She is a white Mali-Poo mix and she was way over due for a salon day. She had to be completely shaved. I see no cuts, knicks or red areas on my little girl. Which is very important to me since they have to shave so close in certain areas. The Apache Tails Pet Salon staff are very friendly, knowledgable and seem happy with what they are doing. When I returned to pick up Lily she seemed to be 'hanging out' like one of the gang, she was very comfortable. I will be bringing her back! read more

Great staff handles all breeds with knowledgeable care. Took our blue healer in for her first trim to get ready for the summer and everyone there showed interest in making her comfortable and happy before proceeding. An hour later as they were pretty busy we picked up a new dog so happy and clean. My daughters very picky about "her" dog and she was very happy with how she was treated . We had been taking our mixed med. sized dog here for nearly two years to be groomed, but this week something happened and they had a hard time with him (they said). He is not an aggressive dog, and he loves people. They have never done a good job with him, but I thought it was because he is so playful that he will not hold still. This week they ask us not to bring him back, they charged us $15 more than usual on top of the $10 tip we always leave them. I will be buying my own clippers and do him myself from now on. I have a hard time believing that a dog who will jump in the bathtub to get a bath will not let a professional groomer trim him! read more
