The website they have plastered across their shop front doesn't work, not by the look of things shows any sign of every working. Then there's the advert for 'genuine 24 hour service'. Would '24 hour service' not cut it? Do we have to be assured that it is genuine? The only reason I question is because the service for me hasn't always been great. I've often ended up waiting over the agreed time, and once it never showed up. They can provide bigger cars for more people which, I'll admit, is a saving grace.

In my experience they are over priced and most other firms in Bristol you will probably find are cheaper - it's always worth ringing around a few especially if you're going on a long journey. One thing they would tend to do that irritated me was they would turn up too early and get annoyed if you weren't ready - once I booked a taxi for 8 o'clock and they arrived at ten to and started beeping their horn and constantly ringing my mobile, when I said we weren't quite ready and needed that ten minutes they threatened to start charging from that time anyway (even though in the end they didn't do this). Their office is based up in Fishponds, and I guess the fact that they are early could be seen as a positive rather than being late, but they just have too much attitude in my opinion - and I won't be using them again.

Then upon leaving, usually after closing! you don't fancy the walk home. I have had a few such nights post the Golden Lion, and Direct Cars has served me well! It's great to have a 24 hour taxi service that is friendly and very reliable. Also having a clear office is also good because you can walk in for the personal touch if you want to book a taxi in advance. They also give a 10% discount to students and OAP's which is very kind and considerate of them. Definately a good way to travel.

Well, simply, whenever you book a taxi through Streamline Taxi, the friendliest cabbies in Bristol, they'll save your name and phone number to greet you for the next time. And it's likely that there will be a next time once you start using Streamline. They're always on time, call you the minute they're outside wherever they're picking you up (great for not waiting in the cold outside the pub) and will take you the quickest possible route. But my favourite thing about them is how personable all of their drivers are. I had the same driver take me and pick me up from a birthday party, and he remembered what I'd bought them, how old they were and who was going. "Did they like the photo album?" Fantastic! This can be a little bit scary, but shows their level of efficiency and I have no problem with them doing so. They've been operating in the city since 1937, so clearly know it well. They promise a taxi within 10 minutes of your call, unless at very busy periods, in which case they'll tell you the soonest they can get there. The drivers have always been friendly in an honest way - you can often get those who force conversation in order to to receive a tip, but their drivers don't generally try to do so. All in all a very good firm, and I can recommend the safety and efficiency of their drivers.
