Perfection!! Super nice and smiley lady was on duty when I visited (5/24/23 @ 12:24 pm). Facility - 10/10 - all critical machines were there Cleanliness- 10/10 - nice and clean and smelled good in rest room Showers - 10/10 two showers and one regular restroom, and they were clean! Awesomeness After the debacle of a visit to Prescott Arizona Anytime Fitness, it was nice to have a facility that wouldn't rush you in the shower(after 13 minutes) and had all critical machines and a nice person working as the manager on duty. Great Job!!!! On to the next one

Cozy but has just the right amount of equipment. Surrounding area is a little sketchy at night but the gym is kept clean and tidy!

Long post alert! This is a note for folks of all ages,…read moreshapes, and fitness levels: So. I was the person who talked to countless gyms after my own gym closed without notice (Burst! Fitness). Prior to Burst! I was kind of a gym drifter. EOS, LA Fit, Planet Fit, Crunch Fit. I tried them all on for size. Didn't like them (nothing wrong with them, just didn't quite meet my needs). The search continued. I started deep-diving on the internet. There had to be an existing place out there that fit my needs right?? Over several months and consultations with private gyms in Tempe, Phoenix, and Scottsdale- Underground Fitness showed up on my radar. Leading up to my initial meeting with them, I was pretty deflated. Perfection is subjective- and I'd been looking for my version of a perfect fit for months and hadn't even come close. If I was going to join a gym at this point, I needed some convincing. But not in the typical gym-salesman pitch way. I needed to be bought-in. I needed to see the passion. The knowledge, the dedication, the practicing-what-you-preach. The ability to teach. I don't know maybe I'm a tough sell with unrealistic expectations *shrugs* My meeting went well. Ron was patient. I asked so many questions I made my own self tired. He didn't get tired. All of my reservations were addressed. I was satisfied. By the end of the meeting I could tell, this guy could seriously talk about this stuff all day. Passion: check. The program I selected felt like it would work with my schedule, the price was comfortable, and so far the customer service was on point. Ok...ok...willing to give these guys a chance. What's 9 weeks, am I right? That was in September 2019. It is now February 2020, 5 months later- I'm fully bought in. It did take some time to realize that this was the place for me, so I encourage readers of this review to keep that in mind. From my very beginning the team at Underground Fitness was communicative, invested in my success, flexible, creative, and believed in me more than I did. For those who I've worked with: Ron never blinked an eye when I needed to talk to him about absolutely anything at all (literally anything). Camille comes to my aide with worksheets, resources and meal ideas as I struggle with meeting my macros. She checks in on my off days, finger always on the pulse. She gently pushes me when I'm being a huge baby. She throws fun creative workouts our way, during which I can be observed smiling from ear to ear. They are so fun! The hour is over before I even know it! Daniel challenges every inch of air available in my lungs with creative circuits, helping me learn to use my body as an extension of myself. Teaching me how to stay grounded in my workouts (I can be super ADD). Each of them keeping a critical eye on form and technique. They are patient when I am low energy and have a sad workout. They are excited for me when I make progress. Even though these team members have spent years learning the fitness do's and don'ts for themselves, I never feel anything but encouraged when demonstrating my own lack of knowledge in nutrition and physiology. I can't tell you how many times I got talked off of the cliffs I put myself on. Active listening here folks! Guys, I didn't know what a fitness partnership looked or felt like until I met the U-fit team. You just have to let them be part of your journey, you won't regret it! The End

My personal trainer, Ron, has been a game-changer for me. His expertise in weight training and…read morepersonalized approach, after only one month, has helped me gain muscle and strength. The workouts are challenging, and I always leave feeling accomplished and energized. Has been quite a while since I have done any type of weight training, and finally made the decision that it was time to get back to a gym. Glad I made Underground Fitness my choice.

Theres some good and some bad at this vasa so ill go over both…read more Cons: lots of the equipment feels outdated especially the cables and stuff near the arm area. There is also only two smith machines if you were wondering. Unfortunately one was also broken. Pros: good leg equipment, theres a pendulum squat, two hip thrust machines, and a hack squat. I'll also go over the locker room and showers which is probably the best part about vasa. The locker rooms were clean, and had large mirrors and clean toilets and stalls as well. Much better than EOS. The showers as well, which were my favorite part, had frosted glass doors which are great for cruising! The layout of the lockerroom is overall very cruiser friendly in my opinion, its a shame that the gym seemed to be very empty and not a lot of guys were going through the locker room, although it was being able to see guys using the showers.

I am incredibly disappointed and discouraged with my experience at this gym lately, primarily due…read moreto the inconsistent hours and a total lack of communication regarding holiday schedules. Today is the 4th of July. Before heading out, I checked the VASA app to verify the holiday hours, and it showed regular operating hours. This isn't the first time this has happened, during a previous holiday, the app also failed to show updated schedules. While I completely understand that staff rightfully want to close early and go home to celebrate with their families on holidays, the problem is that members receive zero notice, email, or text updates about these changes. Even on regular days, the weekend hours are highly inconvenient. Because of prior morning commitments, I usually can't make it to the gym on Sundays until around 4:00 PM. If I show up at 5:00 PM, the staff begins turning off the lights by 5:30 PM and announcing they are closing soon. They want everyone out by 5:45 PM. Again, I understand the staff wanting to go home on time, but as a paying member, I want to be able to work out until the actual 6:00 PM closing time without feeling rushed or pushed out the door. At this point, I am seriously considering canceling my membership. I know several other members who have already canceled and switched to EOS or a newer gym nearby that allows them to scan themselves in at any time. You would think a major gym chain would have an app capable of updating its holiday hours so members don't waste a trip. Until the communication and hours improve, I wouldn't recommend this location if you have a busy lifestyle.

However, her personal trainer is tired of the corporate issues at our current gym and said he is going to leave to do instructional training at "The Gym" Never heard of it... other than saying I'm going to the gym... lowercase. My wife and I discussed the situation. Do we stay at our current and work with the second best trainer or follow the best trainer.... After our workout this past Monday we decided to do a tour at THE GYM. We walked in and were greated nicely enough. They were a little apprehensive at first but seemed okay. We walked around a bit. We were impressed with the amount of equipment and so much less USELESS FLUFF like other gyms. This place is all about working out. This is awesome. Great. Sooo. my issue that I noticed is the lighting is WAY TOO DIM for proper safety and effectively seeing the function of each piece of equipment let alone seeing your form while using them. Some areas along what I think is the East wall were pitch black. My eyes were not aclimating to their "ambience". I understand the whole shadow and contrast of seeing muscle definition and people not wanting to be on "display" while working out but this lack of lighting is definately not helpful if you need a flashlight to see! At least when we were there, the music wasn't blarring like so many others had complained about, because if my wife can't hear her instructor, we will not be switching. Now if only the lighting would be addressed..... I would give 5 stars.
