They suggested I get it towed to their shop which I agreed too. They told me they will look at it, and give me a price before doing anything. It took two days for me to get a price or an update about my car even after asking multiple times. I asked multiple times for a price BEFORE working on my car they literally said they did the work anyway I have text messages showing me asking for them to not do anything work until I get a price which then the lady on the phone said "we already fixed it and THEN gave me a price ... which then they held my keys hostage because I was $5 short on payment, Because they wanted to upcharge me for using a card. I was yelled at by two different people. I stood outside their business for 30 minutes while they ignored me like children. The lady on the phone hung up on me multiple times. The guy at the shop told me "fuck u" I left literally shaking. I will never call this number again and I'll advise others not to do so or u might get ur car held hostage like I did. So I've had a long history with Stans... During High School (which is right down the street from…read morehere) I was in auto shop and we used to order used parts from here on occasion and more recently I had my car towed by them after it was totaled. Not sure how they currently price their used parts, but back in H.S. they were super cheap and the parts were good - used, little dirty, but good. When I got in a wreck a couple weeks back, Stan's was the tow company that ended up picking up and storing my car. They did a good job wrapping my car because my windows were down during the accident. So good in fact that it was moderately difficult trying to actually get into it when I went to pick up my belongings. I don't think it rained in the 2 days they had it before I was able to get my stuff, but I don't think anything would have been wet or damaged inside. Picking up my belongings was fairly easy except for the tow release charges incurred by the PD. I don't know why I'd need a tow release JUST to get my stuff out of the car... it's not like I'm taking the whole car. Anyway though, all my belongings were safe and sound, nothing missing and they gave me plenty of time to get everything out including my stereo system and the dozen or so yards of related wiring. I spent half my day trying to figure out when these jokers were going to send someone. I wish I had just cancelled earlier and tried to get a different company. Finally got help four hours and 45 minutes later. The technician was just a guy with his car and some tools, including a portable jump starter which did the job fine. No hate toward the technician; it felt like they put some tools in his trunk and said go forth. Thanks goodness I was just at home during all of this. Stay far away from this company!
