Love everything I've tried so far, but the Mangonada is my favorite!! Fresh, cold, delicious!! And only $5 for a small, which is good size! Trying an iced coffee today! We'll see!! Looking forward to working my way through the menu!!

Great little find! They just opened up and have a vast selection of fruit, ice cream, shaved ice and more various raspado treats. Fruit was cut fresh and right in front of me, and the employee was more than happy to assist with my custom fruit order. The prices are extremely affordable compared to the similar business. Definitely a must try when in the neighborhood.

Bomb!! Everything was super fresh made on the spot! Very very good!! Highly recommended!

Tropic Hawaiian Shave Ice - Banana, Bubble Gum, and Mango Hawaiian Snow

There are few things as refreshing…read moreand flavorful as a good old-fashioned Hawaiian shaved ice to help deal with the oppressive heat in Fresno during the summer months. Hawaiian shaved ice is much better than an ordinary snowcone because it is thinly shaved down to give it a powdery, snow-like texture that absorbs the flavored syrups directly into it, unlike snowcones made with crushed ice. Moreover, wherever you find a Hawaiian shaved ice stand, you almost always find more flavored syrup options, including tropical flavors like mango, guava, and passionfruit. And a cream topping like vanilla or coconut condensed milk is layered on top of the cone. Tropic Hawaiian Shave Ice has additional chocolate and banana cream toppings. It is located inside the Speedy Zapatos Mexican restaurant at the front counter. This place will pile on the shaved ice and liberally drench it with the flavored syrups and cream toppings. There are nearly 30 flavor choices and a large cone is only $7. I like the flavors I picked: banana, bubble gum, and mango. Awesome Hawaiian shaved ice! It definitely hits the spot on a scorching hot day.

I don't know if it's because we went right before closing but there were 3 tables of people already waiting inside. We ordered the regular size Mango Heaven and split it. I wanted to eat it there but since we went 15 min before closing, we were told it's to-go only. We weren't told that it was an extra $1.50 to get it to-go and I don't think it's fair to charge that if I didn't have an option, but I paid it. It also took about 30 mins to get our bowl but that was expected with the tables ahead of us. The bingsu itself was better than I could've expected and I'd love to go back and try their other options!

Bingsu, unlike classic crushed shaved ice, uses shaved milk ice, giving it a light and fluffy texture. I split the small Mango Heaven with my daughter (which was actually fairly large in size) and it was DELICIOUS! If you are a mango fan, you will be especially pleased with the fresh mangoes. We also appreciated that the side of mango puree and sweetened condensed milk allowed us to control the sweetness level. Each ingredient worked well together and provided both a refreshing and perfectly sweetened dessert. We ordered it to go and were provided an insulated bag ($1) that kept the bingsu nice and cold, with no melting after a 19 minute drive home. Cafe Daldal is located inside 1-800 Flowers, next to Red Robin with plenty of seating inside. Can't wait for our next visit!

SF had Benkyodo, which I appreciate, but did ran sweet for me…read more SJ has Shuei-Do. Pardon, but non ci siamo. Sac has Osaka-Ya, but Kogetsu-Do is better. We were in town the morning after seeing the Firefail. Finally success on the third visit attempt. Amongst other shops on the desolate street stood an unremarkable window front where the repeat button has remained on since the 60s. Within was an eclectic mix of Japanese American household fixtures and Americana. Rustic. Nothing like Benkyodo's proper shelf presentation - or a hamburga stand. Some Japanese goods were on offer, but you come here for something sweet. We got a couple of mochi and manju, traditional red bean flavors, because that's all that was left. Their manju, seeming to have a different "batter" and "panini"-grilled, had a crumbly texture. The mochi though... Have you seen that viral video of that slapping mochi shop in Nara? What about people enjoying it? How soft it was, leaving a vegan cheese pull with every bite? This was by far the softest mochi I've ever had, and I thoroughly enjoyed the soy dusted yomogi. The bigger size of the mochi also accentuated the softness of the mochi. The matcha, also green, had a distincting different flavor, just so you know that the shop wasn't cheating. My partner in crime loved the lima bean mochi. The red bean filling tasted homemade, good flavor but not too sweet - the best compliment you can give an Asian in a world that remains overrun by pollo ala naranja. We are proud* that such a heritage perseveres on, especially in a part of town that's honestly become quite desecrated of life. Call ahead to see if the shop is open, and try to come early. The shop is a one woman show, and if my first two visits say anything, this lady enjoys having a life. And yes, she does sell out. She was nearly sold out when we visited. And try to enjoy the mochi ASAP. The mochi will last in the fridge. The texture will not. If you come at the right time of the year, the shop will have mochi in different fruit and pie flavors, and even ice cream mochi. *OK, "I'm proud of you" might be a bigger compliment to an Asian. And yes, there's Fugetsu in LA, but I haven't been. Though if you need a reason to visit the Fresno, you can always take the 99 traveling between SoCal and NorCal... Just need to be early if much is desired. If you're interested in AYCEat mochi, staying healthy, working out for free, and have an eye for the art of making mochi, may I suggest asking the owner for an apprenticeship? The owner's mentioned on articles that there's no one to take over and you don't become a master overnight.

4 stars & I want to go back for round 2!…read more Our Saturday goal: trying to find the best viral Dubai chocolate strawberries in the local FresYes Raisin Capital of the World. Among the highly rated ones that serve this dish were Creamy Delight & Juice Time but this place is the only one rated great (4 stars at least) in most varied dessert items they offer. Plus this place closed the latest at 11pm. Raspados El Diablito (which I believe means shaved ice) menu is super expansive. Not only did they have viral Dubai strawberries but also a huge Dubai crepe & the Dubai Bionico (has strawberries, banana & apples too) & I want to try them all. They have a plethora of snackies, too many to mention here. I highly advise to check out their menu, & yelp pix. They have a massive menu that includes: ice cream (including basics like pistacio, rocky road & mint chip), snow cones (like Tigers Blood & mango), protein shakes, tostilocos, angelitos, & raspados. Some snacks that really caught my eye are the bag of Cheetos with cheese on it, the Esquite Corn Cup which is just like it sounds & topped with lime. An extravagant looking & fun named dessert was Alien Juice which is a whole pineapple topped with slices of pineapple, a cute mini beach umbrella, and 2 straws. Another big dessert is the Sandia Loca which is a half of a watermelon carved out and filled with melon, cucumbers, strawberries & raisins. My other want-to-trys are the small Bionico (topped with strawberries, granola, coconut flakes and a sweet house cream), cake cone with pistacio ice cream, & maybe if I need an ultimate I-had-a-real-bad-day splurge I'll get a cotton candy crepe which looks like childhood joy to me. If I have just 1 debbie downer is that the small viral Dubai strawberry cup was a whopping $15. The larger size was $20. I was jaw dropped at the price to pay for sugar highs these days. But, I'd definitely come back, but not too often for this particular dish. Also, the location is a little sketch & I was checking my 6 as I walked to the metal-barred doors & windows. Big pluses are the workers are young, efficient, super helpful & friendly on the phone & in person.
