Banana pancakes - and fresh fruit

Wonderful place - everything about it is awesome- food, service & ambiance !!!! Easy parking. Friendly staff. Inside, bar or outside seating! Price are comparable to other's in the area!

The vibes are good at this place & the staff was great. We went on a Sunday afternoon. There was a little wait but not too long. Parking in this area can be tough so expect to drive around for a few minutes. I heard so much about the Benedicts here that I had to try it. It was pretty good. Everyone else seemed to like their dish as well. I ordered a vanilla latte. It was huge & came in these soup bowls. Unfortunately, my friend & I both agreed that the coffee/latte was just ok. Everything else was fine. I would come back here.

First time here! The chicken club sandwiches and fries were very fresh, savory, crispy, crunchy, salty, flavorful, and delicious. Also, the lemonade was super sweet, refreshing and tasty, and the ketchup was tangy, too. Good service, nice atmosphere with music, and I had an excellent experience today.

This is a WEEKEND ONLY dish. Packs a massive punch of flavor. The picture says it all. Antoine's Cafe still the best breakfast spot in San Clemente. The service is always amazing. And the place is always in immaculate shape. Cheers.

This bowl-o-chai is something special

Big on atmosphere, big on service, food is just...passable. It's not bad, but it's nothing to write home about. Met up with friends for breakfast, ordered the ham & egg croissant, strawberry crepe, and a hot chai. For $20 I kind of expected more than basic diced ham & basic scrambled eggs on a soggy croissant. And the $9 crepe was just sliced strawberries on a crepe with a side of whipped cream. Again, figured it would have more of a filling with cream or compote, or anything that showed some culinary prowess. On the plus side, the fruit was fresh & delicious. The actual star of the meal was the chai. While it wasn't a unique, spicy house blend (probably a basic off the shelf concentrate), it was served in a bowl with generous cinnamon and foamy top. I didn't know drinking chai from a bowl would elevate it so much! If this was served in a mug it would just be mid, but there's something special and transformative to adding the tactile warm of a bowl along with the extra cinnamon aroma you get while tilting to sip that made this experience stand out. So good I ordered a refill! Out of the 4 of us, nobody finished their meal but we all had chai refills. TLDR: chai is great, food is pricier than flavor, but service & atmosphere are top notch.

Antoine's is a little cafe in San Clemente with some seriously great vibes. The food is fantastic and so are the servers. Today, Tara was helping us out, and she was very kind and attentive. I shared French toast and the Veggie crepe with a friend, and the crepe was the star of the show for me. The Swiss cheese was warm and gooey, and all the veggies blended perfectly together. What I like is that the food isn't trying too hard. It's simple, fresh, and you're getting exactly what you expect. Portions are spot on and you feel fueled up and ready to go when you finish your meal. It makes sense as to why Antoine's Cafe has been a staple in San Clemente for so many years!

Egg Benedicts

I love their Egg Benedicts! In my opinion, they have the best Hollandaise sauce. So far, I have brought my eight people (family members and friends) there, and I'll continue brining more people there. To be honest, I hope they sell the sauce. I'll be visiting there soon:)) The photos were taken in different days and/or years. Everytime I go there, I take photos lol

Breakfast tacos. Note the avocado garnish.

Did you ever wonder why people are always waiting in line to eat and drink here, particularly on the weekends? One visit and you will know why! Sure there is a full var with an amazing variety of beer, wines and mixed drinks, but the food is awesome which is why year after year it is on the best breakfast list. I had chicken fried steak, my companions breakfast tacos were similarly impressive. Service is completely professional.

One of my favorite restaurant for brunch! They never fail! The service as usual was very good! Love the staff working there, they are always so energetic and so friendly! The food was savory and perfect mimosa drink! Their Hot cocoa is usually my go to but since summer is starting I go for their perfect Mimosa drink!

Side of Grilled Jalapenos. Was not expecting them to be grilled, so that was a nice surprise!

Hanging with the golf dudes. We played early so Antoine's was only place open. It was great since some wanted lunch and some wanted breakfast. I got patty melt - large patty on thick swirly rye bread. Perfectly cooked and delicious. The fries at Antoine's are always very good. Others got: Steak and Eggs - he was amazed at the nice chunk of steak, perfect Medium rare. Herb butter on top was a nice touch. Nicely done over medium eggs. Biscuits and Gravy - nicely done over easy eggs. It must have been good since he kept saying he had to stop since he was full, but kept eating until it was done! He really liked the generous amount of tasty gravy over fresh biscuits. This place is solid and consistent. Try the Red Fox Lounge next door for a divey bar experience with heavy handed cocktails and you can order food from Antoine's! Try it. Update: Unfortunately I failed to mention Travis, our server. 5 stars for service. He was friendly, kept up with us on drinks and checked in on us to make sure everything was good. He did a great job. Go! Eat Very Well!! HAVE FUN!!!

French Toast
Zaira G.

The cafe itself is cute and there is outdoor seating. My food was a 4/5. The French toast is nothing special. It tastes like your everyday mom and pop shop French toast. I will say that the portion is very filling. The plate comes with a small portion of fruit. The fruit wasn't very sweet, but I liked it. It was very refreshing after a sweet meal.

Breakfast crepe
Susan O.

Ordered the breakfast crepe and it was so delicious I finished it all though it was a generous portion! Service was on point. The inside seating was a bit dark. Would have loved to sit outside except that it was too cold. Otherwise outside sitting would be real nice. Quaint location. Would be back hopefully soon!

Every time I'm in the area I see a ton of people waiting outside. Today I decided to get on the list and have breakfast. It was about a half hour wait and I got a seat at the counter. This place is really small. Both the inside and outside eating areas are full. While waiting for a table, I made friends with some of the locals. I ended up ordering the chicken fried steak with hash and scrambled eggs. It was a hearty meal. I left with a happy tummy. As busy as they were, service was excellent. My tea glass was always full. I will definitely come back.

It tastes luxurious--like a treat but still clean and refreshing. Would order this every single time. Blue Coconut Cloud Straight-up dreamy. Light, fluffy, and tropical without being heavy or fake-sweet. It's giving beachy, cloud-in-a-cup vibes. So refreshing and dangerously easy to drink. Both drinks are stunning, flavorful, and clearly made with care. 10/10 across the board--will absolutely be back. We love this place. Every time we are in town we have to stop by!

To which the gentleman behind the counter replied, "Yes, I didn't believe it either until I poured a 12 ounce can of soda into the cup." Still skeptical, I took the cup home, emptied out the ice, and measured it using my Pyrex measuring cup. 10 ounces filled it to the brim. It is a 10 ounce cup. I am greatly disappointed that when I asked about the size of the cup, the gentleman flat out lied to me. I find it hard to believe that when he tested the volume of the cup he didn't notice that 2 oz of his soda overflowed from the cup. The Picnic Cafe--please change your menu to reflect that you are selling 10 oz drinks, or change your prices to reflect that you are serving a smaller size. It is disrespectful and dishonest to continue doing business this way.

Just very very casual and not totally comfortable. Food- 3.4/4 out of 5 - I got the Luau plate and LOVED the chicken!! Everyone else was right- that chicken thigh deserves its own plate. I also really enjoyed the coconut pudding/jello thing that came with it and the sausage link. The pulled pork was just okay, not very well seasoned but not bad. The side of "dressed greens" was just some lettuce without dressing on it, and I thought the macaroni salad was fine. The last thing that really disappointed me were the sautéed veggies :/ they were just soo oily and had no seasoning to them at all. I didn't eat any of them or the un-dressed 'salad'. My husband got the chicken katsu plate, he said the chicken katsu was fine but the fries on the side were cold and not crispy, they were kind of chalky in the mouth and didn't taste fresh. Some parts were definitely a 3/5 but my chicken thigh was so good and the portions are *huge* so I feel like they deserve a 4/5? All in all, I think I'd come back if I wanted to go out with someone but save some money and we'd split one of the plates (the portions really are huge).

The Boulder and I rolled in on a suspiciously perfect Monday afternoon--clear skies, good vibes,…read moreand my dog in tow (a true critic.. of me). My tall Sequoia of a date did the classic awkward shuffle at the front like, "hi, can the dog come through to the patio without causing a federal incident?" The guy we asked looked like we had just asked him to solve climate change (bc he was a customer...), but he very politely redirected us to the cashier, who was lovely. So: Kindness: 10/10. Confusion: also 10/10. ~Balance~ Now the food. The Boulder orders a fish burrito. I go for the chimichurri salmon bowl with quinoa because I, too, enjoy pretending I have my life together. BUT. The boulder also then orders clam chowder--a surprise, a moment of elation, but at the same time... skeptical? Sir? I have lamented over my favorite chowder like a woman waiting for her husband to come back from battle. Were your ears too high in elevation for my voice to reach? ANYWAYS. Let's talk about the clam chowder, because this is where things get serious. I have grown up eating clam chowder in Santa Cruz (my hometown, my birthplace, my origins). I have known greatness (shoutout to Stagnaro Bros., the downstairs fish market). So when I tell you I approached this chowder with standards, I need you to understand the weight of that statement. I put my spoon in. It did not sink. At that moment, I knew. This was not soup. This was a lifestyle. A structural entity. And it was GOOD. Creamy, thick, unapologetically clam-forward. Not quite Santa Cruz enlightenment, clouds-parting-angels-singing, but honestly? Strong contender. We're talking solid top 4-5 chowders of my life, and I do not say that lightly. Now, my salmon bowl? Good. Respectable. Salmon = crispy, quinoa = doing quinoa things (why is it always slightly annoying to eat??). Chimichurri good. The fish burrito (from my observational research + dog validation panel): packed, flaky, generous. My dog approved, which frankly is the highest honor available. Overall: Great food, great vibes, excellent chowder, and quality time with the Tall Sequoia Boulder Man™ on a random Monday. Plus points--chips looked fried on site :D
