I just needed to figure out if it will fit me. I took the item off the shelf, and the assistant almost immediately came over to me, took the pull over, and said it will be in the changing room for you to fit on!!! I haven't even had the item in my hand for 2 minutes. I went to the changing room, please note there was a 7ft man standing at the door too, and I got undress/ dressed, and got out. when I got out of the fitting room the assistant once again said, Let me take that from you, it will be at the counter ready to pay... huh. I still didn't even have these items 2 minutes in my hands!!! when I got to the counter the cashier said, you can just tap your card!!! I will be honest I didn't enjoy this shopping experience at all, I felt like I was put on the spot, and I didn't even know what to make of this! The items I wanted, I got them, but you don't go to super store, and the cashier or assistant doesn't take the items out of your hands and put them at the counter when you are still busy shopping? no they don't, so why does these assistants do that? total amount was $218 for a 9 min shopping experience, it wasn't about the money, but you want to enjoy the experience of retail therapy, and this was not great. if you don't want customer to see, feel, and roam the store, then you should only have an online store!

The first thing that hit me when I walked in was a wonderful sent of tangerine, at least I think that is what it was, the smell was heaven. This place was packed today, I know it was a combination of beautiful weather, Spring Garden and March Break. There was no sign of recession in this store. The line went from the cash right to the back of the store. I could not believe it. And no one was blinking an eye at the cost, $58.00 top, $130.00 jacket, $90.00 pants. I do think some people will choke on the prices, but I believe you will get great quality. Either that or half of Halifax has lost their minds, because I have never seen so many people in a store, and no sale going on. The styles and colours here are a step above the others you will find. They had some great selections. There was one jacket I thought was a pretty good price, the $130.00 Rain Jacket.

We'd ask if we could try anything on and they'd be like "yeah just grab everything you want and you can go" no assistance required. Which is refreshing yet foreign because I'm used to there being an item limit and you can't go two people inside, etc. So I guess it depends on you if you enjoy this kind of service. I thought it was ok. I wish we had a Montreal Patagonia store.

I stuck to the main floor with the clothes, though they do have a second floor with bigger items like tents. I love the set up of the store, though it doesn't seem very friendly for folks who aren't able-bodied with the stairs right at the front entrance. Not super great. The product selection is pretty good, with tons of backpacks and water bottles greeting you as you walk up the stairs to the main floor. The clothing is split between men and women and they seemed to have some pretty decent sales going on. Not going to lie though, I was drawn to the huge selection of socks. A bit weird? Maybe. But there's something so wonderful about a great pair of socks, y'know? Anyway, the Trail Shop is a great independently owned sporting good stores, and if you're in the area I highly recommend checking it out. The staff are friendly and happy to help if you have questions, or to leave you alone if you just want to look around.

I talked to the manufacturer, the afore mentioned, "trusted brand", they declined to address the rip. So I went back to MEC to check on there guarantee. They agreed that it was a defect, and with zero hassle replaced the boots. Thanks to the staff who were chill and used common sense to determine it was a defect. -Bless up it's 2024 baby!

Aside from the many clinics they offer, there is also group runs open to the general public---even if you are not even from around here..on Wed & Sundays. What a great way to get out and great active or what?! The associates in the store are all very knowledgeable about running shoes, and all the gear they offer. They will assess your gait, determine whether you pronate, listen to your concerns and then suggest a couple of pairs that will serve your purpose. They are very open to suggestions and are experts in running (and walking!) and the various needs associated with it. The front of the store offers running/walking gear: pants, shirts, camelbacks, hats, socks - the Running Room can suit you up for any requirement. I've even seen jogging strollers in the front window - trust me, when you need one they can be hard to find. The store also runs clinics, from learn-to-run courses to running groups. They sponsor several races a year and always provide a prep course in advance of the big day. If you're like me, sneakers just aren't your forte. That's why it's important to go to a knowledgeable provider like the Running Room. I've bought my last two pairs of sneakers from them, and anticipate returning for another pair this year. Soon I am sure I will return to this store to get yet another couple helmet's when required by law to wear one while driving and walking. The best advice I can offer anyone is do not call them just go over. I called twice yesterday and all I got was hang-ups? A CLICK and then the pause and dial tone again. I called another location of the same store and got them to check to see what was on sale and in stock etc... The guy told me at the other location that they never answer the phone when I told him about the hang ups. Showing up at the store as it was last time I visited was a good experience. Lots of helmets to choose from for average size heads. I always have trouble with the fit for mine as I need something large very large. I ended up buying one. Wearing it around the house etc... To see how it fits. This store has or at least yesterday an army of sales people walking the floor. The store called this weekend black Friday sales. It was save the tax across the whole store with a few better sales for certain items. I would return here as the prices are reasonable and the sales staff are helpful. If you find the service was good don't forget to get the sales person's name because they will ask you at the cash who helped you and that person will get commission. Just don't call the store before going over unless you like hang-ups or whatever that is? I don't know of an answering service that hangs up in the callers ear?

I'm not here to talk about how awesome it was to build Legos and dress up like pirates (though that was pretty spectacular)... I'm here to talk about running shoes and my experience at the Halifax Shopping Centre Sport Chek. I'm about to run my first marathon (Crazy yes, but oh so needed for this life changing journey) and for the past couple of weeks I've been on the hunt for a new pair of Saucony running shoes (I'm a die hard fan). After being sorely disappointed in Aerobics first (another review possibly?) and Amazon I turned to the clearance blow-out by Cleve's and found a nice pair of running shoes... The only problem? They didn't "POP". This is going to be my first marathon people. Everything needs to look good, feel good and hey did I mention looking good? Meegan and I happen to stop in at another Sport Chek location earlier this week looking for a new running shirt (remember I need to look good while running 42km). They were having a buy one get one half off sale on shoes... We just looked... A day later we found ourselves at the Halifax Centre location with the intent of purchasing not only another pair of Saucony running shoes for me but another pair of athletic shoes for her. There was only one guy working in the shoe department - Jacob. The review is more about him than anything else. After spending a lot of time in the major "running" stores in the area he is by far the most helpful person I've encountered and he's not even a runner (hockey knees!). For someone that doesn't run he has quite the knowledge background and took the time to explain to me all this new talk about 4mm drop (it's a running thing) and about the difference between a stability / neutral/ minimal shoe. At the other "running" stores I sort of got the evil eye for not knowing all the technical terms (I just run...) He spent quite a bit of time going back and forth between shoes for Meegan and me. In the end we both walked away with a pair of shoes that we fell in love with. The store itself was ginormous. Chock full of all kinds of sports equipment and a pretty large clearance section in the middle (I do love a good clearance section). If you get a chance head to the back where the athletic shoes, look for Jacob and try on a pair of Sauconys!

Adam needed a shirt for the wedding we were attending over the weekend so when we saw this…read morestorefront we figured we would give it a try. We spent over an hour and half in there! The saleslady assisting us was very nice and patient. Adam must've tried on at least 2-3 different shirts and more than 5 ties. She was also nice enough to steam the shirt before wrapping it up. They have this cool policy in the store where you can try to put a hole in one mini golf style for $95 off a tie for $2 (and the money goes to charity!). Sadly, both Adam and I missed. But I enjoyed playing a lot! Mini put inside a store! I was surprised no one snubbed us as we did look very ordinary. I think once Adam specifically asked to try on a shirt, they loosened up and realized we were going to buy something. That's when they got friendlier and offered us drinks. But I really only liked the lady who helped us, the rest seemed unbothered and lazy.
