Main thing I want to say in my review is that while I was totally amazed at the finds on sale here there are not very many things for the low budget traveler. This store has amazing sourcing! Rare iems such as tiny leather boots from 1910 as well as Victorian linens and amazingly well preserved clothes from the sixties and seventies and you know how where that is. For what they have their prices are quite fair. Medium to small sized ladies and gents will find lots of things but the quantity of large sizes is quite limited. That being said, there is an amazing selection of well curated silver and turquoise jewelry , a plethora of scarves and many fun purses and hats which represent equal opportunity fun for all. The woman who waited on me was super friendly and freely shared locations of other vintage stores. Definitely will return next time I'm in Phoenix! read more

I love this store! My daughter and I came here for the first time yesterday. As soon as we walked in I knew that we'd be there for a while. They have so many lovely dresses from different eras, fun accessories, so much to look at. Yes the items are old, but they aren't dusty or falling apart. I can tell the owners take care in deciding what to sell. The clothing was in very good condition. My daughter got a beautiful dress that was a dream come true for her! Vintage junkies unite *thrusts fist into air* This place has been cool forever, but the new location is a stones throw from my house, so extra cool points. But truly Antique Sugar is an awesome addition to downtown, we needed this! The selection is incredible! I wrote a review for their previous location explaining how special and unique this place truly is, but I will reiterate for the newbies. Everything is so reasonably priced and they actually have a decent Men's department with accessories (unusual at most vintage boutiques, yey for equality!) The layout is super organized and easy to shop. Which is great for you weirdos that get overwhelmed and have panic attacks when you step into an overly full thrift shop. I seriously have friends and family that drive from Tucson just to shop here. It don't matter if you live the Valley or you're just visiting, you have to check it out! :) read more

Even if you don't need a sequin pantsuit or a polyester thingamajig a la Jackie O, this is worth a stop. Young or old, you're bound to ask "We really wore that?" or "People really wore this?" Hands down the best, and biggest, selection of vintage I have ever seen. I have been to the old location near Melrose and I think this new place on and street is a great update. The space is bigger and brighter and still packed with clothes, shoes, bags, coats, and jewelry. I have never had great experiences with vintage until I came to this place. Clothes were always huge and unappealing. Antique Sugar totally changed my mind. I found armfuls of CUTE clothes that actually fit my small frame. Everything I tried on I liked and wanted to show off. The prices range depending on quality, decade, etc, from very affordable to serious splurge but there is definitely plenty of affordable fair priced items to pick from. This place is awesome! Everything is well organized and super clean. I came in last minute looking for a 1930's dress for New Year's Eve and Sarah saved me! She picked out everything for me from the gorgeous dress, to hat and gloves! I was in and out in no time! Totally save my night! BTW! What in the world.. was hoping for a neat place to buy some souvenirs or an eclectic piece. Lady at counter greeted us and then retreated back to the back room never to be seen again. It's a good thing because we laughed at the prices on every single item in there. Yes they have some kinda neat old 70-80's clothings.. but come on... shirts from the 80's with either a saying or concert shirt(average) for $35-55 bucks? I've seen plenty of the same shirts and grandmas moo moos at good will for $1.99. I wish I lived closer as the goodwill and salvation army around here are loaded with the same type of stuff donated after grandma and grandpa passed on. I would so bring them there to sell. I marvel at the fact maybe.. just maybe people are paying these prices. *edit* I do think you have cool stuff..... pricing is high in my opinion only as a lot can be found a local resale shops. Antique Sugar is my favorite place to visit when I am in Phoenix. The shop is big, but not overwhelming. Unlike other "vintage" stores, you don't have to weed through racks of crummy second-hand clothes that aren't actually vintage - every piece on the rack is amazing and in good condition. Anna-Marie and Sarah are extremely welcoming and will give you honest feedback about the clothes you try on. Their prices are extremely reasonable (especially compared to Seattle prices - eep!) and as other reviewers have mentioned, they often have 50% off sale days (crazy!!). Loved it! When ever I travel to a new city I try to make time for vintage clothing browsing and shopping. In my searches Antique Sugar came up as one of several to prioritise and was my first destination during a fruitful and thoroughly enjoyable day. Being new to Phoenix it was easy to walk to and find from my downtown hotel. The premises is spacious and looks gorgeous. I spent a long time in a jet lagged state happily looking at a large selection of dresses from the '50s, '60s and '70s, finally making a selection to try on. I came away with two purchases that I am extremely happy with and that fit into my relatively modest budget. The proprietor was helpful, friendly, knowledgable and also gave me information on how to find other vintage stores in the area. I particularly appreciated this co-operative attitude of vintage sellers supporting the local vintage clothing eco-system. read more

Totally stumbled on this place while out with a friend and it is a gem. So many special pieces from the 20s, 30s, 40s, and beyond. As a long-time fashion lover without a lot of access to true older vintage, it was incredible to get an up close view of the level of craftsmanship and detail that went into clothes back then. They have a great selection and I think the prices are fair for the effort and love that went into 1) the clothes themselves and 2) the selection curation of the store. Lots of lovely, clean & beautiful vintage clothing, primarily from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Clothing is nicely displayed and organized without losing the feeling of rummaging through the racks to find a treasure. Everything from party dress and day wear, men's and women's coats (including furs) swimwear and lingerie too. Vintage shoes, handbags and jewelry were also on display. Nothing musty, stained or tattered. Didn't make a purchase during my visit here but had a lot of fun browsing without feeling rushed or uncomfortable by the staff. read more

Found this place by special chance on a business trip to Phoenix. It's in a very cool building with another vintage store attached. Antique Sugar itself is well thought out with many many gems. Just found some phenomenal pieces with my brother at Antique Sugar! My brother got an AMAZING fringe suede jacket along with some perfectly fitting wrangler bell bottoms! As a guy, finding vintage clothing is usually pretty tough.. Not so at Antique Sugar. Their men's selection is the largest I've seen in the valley. Their new location at 2nd St and McKinley in downtown Phoenix is beautiful and feels polished while still retaining the charm of their old location. The building is still incomplete on the outside at the time of writing this, but don't be fooled - they're open. The friendly service is still just as friendly. Definitely go check them out! read more
