If you have an antique stove, call Jimmy. I have a vintage O'Keefe and Merritt cooktop from the 1950s -- parts are nearly impossible to find. I cannot recommend Jimmy enough. I have a 1950s stove that I needed help with when I first bought my home, he was quick to respond and completed the job in record time. Upon his first visit, he recognized the stove as one he had restored about 15 years earlier with the previous owners. The previous owners had recommended him, but I misplaced his card during my move. I'm so glad I found his contact information when researching vintage oven experts online. I needed some additional help with my stove today, and he was out to my house in no time. Jimmy came to Irvine to rescue our stove. It had been hooked up wrong by a company that charged too much. They didn't even make sure it was working but they sure took our money. I can't begin to tell you how wonderful Jimmy is. I have been waiting 8 months with a nonworking 98 year old Magic Chef stove that I love. Had problems with first repairman who after many visits could not find a new valve. Jimmy is incredible! We let friends use our place while we were out of town. The 1957 Holly Western wall oven did not work for them and yet had worked for us a few weeks before. I saw the reviews on yelp and decided I would call and get a quote. Jimmy was very personable. I told him what my aunt thought might be the problem and right away he gave me a price for going to her house. After our conversation he text me the quote. I gave my aunt the information and she called Jimmy to set up an appointment. After the appointment my aunt called me and was so delighted with Jimmy. I was considering giving up on our O'keeffe and Merritt stove, which looked very nice, but without a working oven, had become just a really large decorative object. I was sure that it would be a painful and expensive process to get it fixed, so I kept putting it off. I've had this ancient Gaffers and Sattler stove for years and like the other review I was considering giving up on it. It had problems with both pilot lights, burners, broiler didn't work at all, and heavy oven door had no springs so would fall open at random times. I saw this on Yelp and called yesterday. Today he came and in a little over an hour, EVERYTHING worked. He even serviced stuff I didn't know needed service, and showed me how to adjust the pilots myself in case of future problems. Price was reasonable and he was very clear beforehand about how much it would cost. PLUS a 3-month warranty. This is my first yelp review ever. He rocks. read more

Called several places who were rude and rushed then I talked to Jimmy. He asked for 2 photos came out the next day had it fixed in 20 minutes showed up on time and the stove burners that sometimes lite but most of the time I used a match. WOW! Where do I begin? We had stove burner pilot light issues and oven issues in an older apartment we're moving into. I called this place and Jimmy answered the phone. The GAS COMPANY man had come out to "calibrate" the oven. He said it was over 100 degrees off!! Also said there was an issue with the stove burner pilot light that would probably entail an expensive replacement cost. So, I found this website - since these appliances are nearly 50 yrs old - Jimmy was VERY accommodating - making sure he came out to assess the problem, with NO up front charge.........just coming to see what was going on. He tested the oven and found NO PROBLEM!!! It was right on the money! The pilot light issue on the burners was corrected within minutes saving us much money! The GAS COMPANY man was useless and ignorant. Jimmy was HELPFUL, ACCOMMODATING, REASONABLE, and the kind of person you want when you need servicing on a gas appliance. I cannot say enough about how helpful he was and how pleased we were to find such a wonderful person. He gave us hints and tips and made sure we knew exactly what was going on - what the problem was - and how he was correcting it. He noticed the gaskets around the perimeter of the oven door were old and breaking down and suggested where to get replacements. I also never write reviews, but if any business deserves a rave review, this is it. We have a1940's O'Keefe & Merritt that was my grandmothers's. Last year we had Jimmy come out to repair burners that were no longer lighting. He fixed them and they worked perfectly. Then we decided to have our stove completely restored this summer. It looks beautiful and works perfectly! Jimmy and Johnny are perfectionists and pay great attention to detail. We're so glad we did it! Thank you SO much, guys. I called this shop in desperation, I couldn't find a repair shop that worked on my antique stove. The oven wasn't working and the last repair guy notified me that I would need to replace the safety valve button on my Wedgewood model stove. Unfortunately, this was an antique and the part was very hard to come by. I searched the internet and found antiquestove.net and called the shop with the number posted on the website. The staff notified me that there were alternatives to fix my issue without replacing the parts I was told I needed, but they couldn't be sure of my model, since it wasn't labeled. I emailed them photos of my stove and they told me to use a hammer on the safety valve, which would put it back in place. Since it was so old, it allegedly got stuck and hitting it with a hammer was supposed to kick it back in place. It worked, the technician actually took his time to help me over the phone with this problem. When I asked to pay him in some way for his help, he notified me that it was not necessary, he was happy he could help me out of my problem. So overjoyed to have this antique stove working again and am super happy that this man was put in my way to assist me with my issue. read more
