Best place to buy antiques on Maui
    Heather G.

Best shop on Maui. Shane is the coolest nicest uncle. I go once a month and there's always new stuff hope I can work there when I'm older Thank you from tommy

Hawaiian shirts, lamps, tapestries, furniture galore. There's so much more than that too.

This was for our visit on 07/12/22. We stopped in because we were visiting from Oahu and we wanted to take some unique items back with us. We spent a good amount of time in there, definitely over an hour. There were so many different rooms and curious displays that it made it very easy to get lost in this collection. There's a few rooms upstairs and even a small outside area. I really wish we had more room in our tiny apartment, because it was a fascinating place. I picked up a pair of lovely copper dangling earrings and an awesome copper belt that actually fit really well together. This shop owner, Shane, was so friendly and a pleasure to talk with. He actually said that if there were any large items we were interested in, that he could arrange to have it shipped to Oahu. He truly gave a fuck! Literally! He had a small jar of "fucks" near the register and gave one to me and my husband. It was so funny and such a memorable random token/gift. We plan on popping in whenever we visit Maui. It'll be interesting to see what we pick up next!

Here's the only photo I took while in the antique shop. Looks like a tiny statue of maybe Lao Tzu under some cherry blossoms. CHECK IT OUT!

Awesome hidden gem in Maui that a friend and I came across while staying at the North Shore Hostel and walking around Wailuku! Lots of rare antiques in perfect condition to look at and admire. Many are from East Asian countries like Japan and China so if you have an appreciation for those cultures this is a great spot as you might come across some vintage original pieces that have traveled some ways. I was lucky enough to find a fine crafted Oni mask in perfect condition that would have costed me an arm and a leg if I would've gotten any where else! Shane was awesome too, he was super friends and knew his information. He could tell you lots about history and origins about a lot of the things he has in his store. If you're in the area, please PLEASE check this place out as its less crowded and will give you a broader appreciation for Hawaii's cultural diversity!

Whether buying or trading Shane the Antique Freak offers Hawaiiana, antiques, collectibles and esoterica for all. A don't miss shop in old Wailuku.

Plus we also had a birthday girl who was looking for a new chair. So when we arrived a few minutes early. I figured we'd have to wait outside until they opened. Except it was our lucky day & they didn't make us wait outside. They let us in early to browse around. Which already made us feel like VIP's getting to walk around a private showing. I also appreciated our sales person Judy for being very easy to work with. Our friend is going to be having surgery soon & she wanted to find something comfortable to help speed up her recovery. Which even Judy was even able to relate & help make the perfect recommendations to even make the sale. Plus at a more reasonable price then other locations we've browsed around. On top of that we paid for it yesterday & it's in stock to be delivered today. So thank you for making Kathi a very grateful customer. On top of that my boyfriend's mother has been wanting a new dresser for her bedroom. Which we ended up finding two matching dressers that were also on sale for a reasonable price. That is also getting delivered today too. As for my mother she just enjoyed window shopping & hanging out with her friends. I on the other hand love every opportunity to check out a business. Great customer service is not only a huge bonus. But something I look for with every business I encounter. Plus I just enjoy sharing my experience with others too. So thank you for allowing me to browse around as well. Xoxo, ChelsieFletcher

If you're into hand carved, one-of-a-kind pieces from the far east, check it out. In the back (the warehouse), they sell used furniture from local resorts that have remodeled their units. This is what we were interested in, but sorta worried that the items would be cheaply made. We've seen particle board dressers with holes in the top for bolting down lamps. This was not the case. The pieces we looked at were obviously high quality with a few marks from expected wear. There were lots of different tables, night stands, chairs, hotel art, mirrors, televisions, lamps and bedding. The kind of stuff you would find in your room at a resort. We bought a huge credenza with doors and drawers that fit perfectly and operate smoothly. Even noticed that the back was solid plywood. We've been through all of the furniture stores on the island and did not find a anything that compares to the quality. And the price was so low. We also bought an end table from the same resort. Also, great quality. Drawers work smoothly. I notice drawers because I've seen pricey items elsewhere with no drawer guides. Both items came with glass tops. Nice. Da Warehouse doesn't have a shipping department. They might want to add that in the near future. But, they know a guy. Joel took our call and we worked out a deal for him to to the delivery right then. Quick and very friendly.

My most recent purchase there was a floor lamp with ceramic pole. I had to replace the lamp socket on it but still a good deal. That's probably why it was donated. Anyway, they usually have a good assortment of light fixtures, tables, chairs and small appliances. The sort of stuff that people upgrade from time to time. They also are a good source of building materials that are left over from jobs the contractors finish. It's hit or miss whether you find the type or quantity of materials you need, but it's still a good place to check if you're about to start a project. We were there recently, to drop off a couple boxes of floor tile and some used copper tubing. I hope someone can use it. There's a small parking lot beside the building. Be really careful there because you might not have much time to react when someone backs out without looking. I had to use my horn, first time in years!
