We needed some livingroom furniture so stopped by to check this place out. They have SO much to look at. We found a couch we liked and were happy to find out they had one in their warehouse that they could deliver to us in 3 days. We added a couple end tables over the phone we had looked at & decided we'd get after getting home. Derek was very helpful and coordinated everything for us. The delivery guy came on time and got everything moved into our upstairs with no problems. He took all the wrappings off attached the feet of the couch and huled all the trash away. We came here for the 70% off sale and this was the worst most chaotic shopping experience we have ever had that I feel the need to comment. There was no system to be checked out and it was absolute chaos. We have bought furniture on a sale day before and have never seen a more disorganized store. We asked an older shorter man with grey hair for help. We asked him questions to which he ignored us. He very rudely brushed us off and told us to get in line, then later he ended up at the front desk. While we were waiting to be checked out at the front desk we witnessed him very rudely talking to the other associates. Someone asked for helped and he began yelling the answers and seemed angry for no apparent reason. I get that a sale day can be chaotic but we just felt it was unnecessary and made the line of customers feel even more frustrated than we already were. I work in customer service and when you're dealing with situations like this you have to be over the top nice to make up for the wait. He was not. We ended it up leaving we just thought it was not worth waiting to have a bad experience. We probably won't ever be buying furniture here again. Please do better in the future read more

As many businesses either closed or flew the coop of Dairy Road, Maui's newest furniture store opened up in 2019. Ashley Furniture was founded in 1997 in Anchorage, AK. They operate like a restaurant chain with corporate and independently-owned stores. In Hawaii, they're run by locally-owned C.S. Wo & Sons who also owns Homeworld Furniture, Slumberworld and Red Knot stores. ATMOSPHERE: The long, single-level showroom took over some decrepit warehouse buildings directly across from the Maui Marketplace, doing double-duty by also sprucing up the neighborhood. Parking is plentiful. Inside, ceilings soar sky high along with big windows which make for a very airy feeling. EXPERIENCE: We were immediately greeted and assisted by Jackie. We were looking for a sofa to replace a defective one we purchased from Inspiration Furniture on Oahu just a few years ago. By defective I mean the faux leather surface started to peel. Off the bat, I noticed a nicer selection of contemporary styles as compared to sister company Homeworld. Secondly, their price on most pieces were more affordable, but that also made me wonder about the quality. A slick-looking, gray fabric sofa caught our eye (see pic below). Priced at $2359.99, it's steep but I've seen many sofas going for more. While we haven't made a decision yet, it's at the top of our list. TIP: They do not sell floor models. Ordering time takes around 6 weeks. OVERALL: Nice selection, fair pricing. If we ever purchase that sofa, I'll be sure to update this review to touch on that quality question of mine. read more

I purchased two pieces of furniture during the Thanksgiving sale. The deal was nice and the sales staff were helpful. Today, I received a call at 10:30 a.m. that all my pieces were in and scheduled a tentative delivery for next week. However, I told the caller that I needed to confirm the date and time with my family. 7 hours and 30 minutes later I've called a half dozen times and left two messages on their main line. (My salesperson didn't not give any other number to call.)No one has picked up the phone or called me back. While the sales side was helpful, I'm starting to wonder about the delivery and service side of this business. For a new store, I would have thought they would be quick to answer calls to their main line, which is included in their ads. read more

This is such an amazing store that Maui has now. Walked in and was greeted by Darlene she's di sweet and nice. This store is huge and so many selections to choose from. We were just browsing so just looking this time but next time around hopefully to buy something. Come here if you need something for your home. Saggy Couch did not hold up for even one month! (see pics) . Purchased the Savesto Sectional for $2600, and the pillows do not hold their shape. We have to take the pillow off of the sofa and "fluff them up" to make the sofa useable. We noticed this after a few weeks, and I went into the Kahului store to see if we could exchange and they told "too bad , so sad" . It is now about a year later and our sofa is mostly stretch out cushions with no life and uncomfortable, we are frustrated and done with it. We will try Mind's Eye for our new sofa, AVOID ASHLEY MAUI at all costs. in all fairness, the salesman was polite, but the manager could care less once the sale is made. This review in no way reflects the staff at the store. They are great. I've recently done a remodel on a condo. When the couch was delivered from Ashley, the fabric came torn on the side (small puncture) and back (large tear). They had no floor models available that matched and they had "discontinued" the couch I had ordered. I couldn't wait another 10 to 12 weeks to pick out yet another couch as it once again would delay business for me. The staff couldn't really help me because they are constrained by "rules". Stuck with no couch or a couch I had tears in. They gave me a small discount but not nearly what it would take to repair the sofa. I also recently ordered a table, stools, and bar chairs. The order came and a bar chair bar seat was missing, one wrung was missing, and the assembly instructions were not in the box. Yet more delays for me because of poor quality control from them. The store staff stepped up to help but 2 trips to get the extra parts that were missing. And a lot of frustration. Also, realizing that product quality is also poor on this item with misaligned pieces that weren't quite squared off or made consistently. I had to order additional parts to strengthen the connections/joints. Which should arrive in a week or so. On top of it , I tried to email their corporate customer care and got a "link doesn't exist" (also known as 404 error). I get COVID has impacted all of us but it isn't an excuse to not maintain quality of delivery and quality of product packaging. They are 2 for 2 on orders for bad experience. I didn't take my business to Ashley for the second remodel. I went to Lifestyle Maui. More expensive for sure but everything was delivered in mint condition. The delivery was harder than my first remodel because of twist and turns into the condo. However, the moving crew figured it all out without any damage to any furniture. read more

When I purchased a sleeper sofa in September, everything went smoothly. Delivery was quick and I was able to get a model which was in stock. Now it is March and the sleeper mechanism is broken. My property manager attempted to repair it, so it was operational, but no dice. Guest was given an air mattress to sleep on. When I was finally notified, I attempted to reach Ashley, but they are closed on Wednesdays. I called just now and got VMail twice, so I called the referral number for emergencies. They (sister store) could not help me, and said they would email the store. (I have guests in there now, it needs attention now) I tried calling store again and this time Kurt picked up. He said he was just manning the phone and could not really help me. He did say they could not even get me scheduled until Friday, and would likely be next week before someone could get to it. I will be repairing this elsewhere for $600+ for a sleeper sofa which cost $1300+, since this company cannot seem to operate like a normal business. Other Yelp reviews say the same thing. Wish I had read them before purchasing. If you are a property owner who rents, be wary of buying from here, especially buying furniture which has mechanical movements. read more

I was skeptical at first due to COVID, but with safety procedures put into place, I was very comfortable during my visit. Safety here is prioritized so that was a big PLUS. I'm in the process of moving to Maui so I decided to stop here at Ashley's to do a little browsing for my condo. 1. Customer service here is superb. Given I was just looking and no intention of purchase yet. Darlene was more than willing to assist me when I had questions about certain products whether they had similar items or even anything different that she would recommend to shipping, etc. 2. They have a pretty good selection so I was able to make a "potential purchase" list of items I fell in love with. 3. The displays are well put together giving me an actual feel of what they would be like at my own place. And the store is VERY clean. Definitely considering Ashley's for the final move. Just went to the soft opening. The store is huge and well lit. Everyone is friendly and it's easy to navigate through. There are also really clean restrooms inside which is convenient. Prices seem fair and colors can be ordered. The best part is that there is a touch screen catalogue that you can scroll through that will text you the info on products not in store or in stock. read more

I love the furniture and waited a while for it to arrive. What is really annoying is that I was given a 2 hour delivery window and it's now 30 minutes after the window. No one called me to let me know of the delay. I'm now missing an appointment because of this. You better give yourself at least 3 hours. Update: They arrived 50 minutes late. When I confronted them about being late, there was not one ounce of being apologetic. In fact, he asked me what I wanted to do. I said get this out of the truck and set up ASAP. I didn't realize that they gave to assemble the product. If I'm lucky it'll be another 30-45 minutes. read more

Walked in, greeted by a nice lady named Louanne & was told if we needed any help, just let her know. So we start walking around to look at bed frames as that's what we're interested in, & notice this same lady who greeted us walking slowly behind us "acting" like she was looking at stuff and "working". So we go on our way & still continue to browse other bed frames, we come across the same lady AGAIN, at this point my fiance and I are a little upset & feel discriminated because we're locals & walking around like we can't afford it. We're both livid, but not letting this women make us feel small. We finally came to an agreement on what 2 we're interested in, we call onto the same lady who has been FOLLOWING us the whole time to check if they had it in a king bed for both. She comes back to tell us she does have it in stock, but had no price(probably cause she think we couldn't afford it, we could feel that vibe). She grabs the price & we took a few minutes to decided & made a decision. Although she made the transaction really easy,the instructions to their warehouse is confusing. We said thank you, & made it to their warehouse which has slumberworld & homeworld on it but nothing for Ashley furniture. Took less then 15mins to get all our stuff & had it up less then 3hrs at home. I just hope Louanne realizes how she made us feel here & hope this company doesn't pride on only helping NON LOCALS & giving their 100% over trying to help the born & raised LOCALS & following them around like we're criminals. read more

He went over the current specials and let us walk around freely with no pressure. He checked in on us every now and then but respected our space while we checked out all the furniture. Here on Maui they were charging double for a sofa that they advertised on their own website for half. There was no "price match" as they advertise & if I chose to order it online there was no warranty. if I needed any service I was told I would need to ship it back to the mainland at my own cost. While buying my table was fine, will never by from them again. Called to confirm delivery day and time for this coming Monday (I just got rid of our current table), and was told "sorry we forgot we don't deliver on Mondays." I cleared my schedule to have the delivery that day and work the rest of the week. If I hadn't called to confirm I would have just sat around all morning waiting for my table. Now I have no table for my family to eat on for a week since that is the only day I can work around my schedule. And after all that? All I got was "I am sorry for my mistake. At least I am owning up to it." I spent over $1,000, I would have expected at least a discount or wave the delivery charge but didn't even get that. All I am getting for their mistake is "sorry at least I am owning up to it for what it's worth." It's not worth much at all. read more

While they have a large selection and good prices for the island, they do not put any care into processing your order in a timely manner. We were told that our order would arrive on island in 4-6 weeks, yet it has been 12. We have contacted them several times and the date of our shipment arrival keeps getting pushed back. When we mentioned that it just keeps changing and we've been waiting longer than we were told, they just responded by saying that there are other people who ordered before us that still haven't received theirs either. Not sure how that is supposed to make us feel better about our order. Needed a rocking chair for when my baby was born and now it's been two weeks with her and no chair to sit in. read more

I waited a long while to write this review, one... in hopes they would have taken care of the issue and two... to make sure I was not writing a review based on emotions. Dont get me wrong, I will never step foot in an Ashley Store or affiliate for the rest of my life and I will try to talk anyone who will listen to never purchase their products. (yes still very sour about this, but not angry any longer). on 10/19/19 we purchased a expensive Savesto couch. This couch was modular and fit our needs perfectly. We bought 6 pieces the total bill was $2,717.63. It is just me and my husband that lives at the house and we have family that visits, but they are all older. We were told they had only a couple pieces in stock and would get the rest from Oahu, so this should not take to long, but would say at the most 4 weeks if they did not have all the pieces. (Yes I know we are on an Island and shipping is slower) I had no problem with this. She told me the middle of November 2019. At the end of November I called the store as I had not heard anything from them. well, no one had an answer for me. So, a couple days later I stopped by the store and they directed me to the sales lady who sold me the couch. She told me that they had a few of my pieces in and the rest my couch was in a container in the ship yard and they could not unload them because their furniture lift trucks (2) were both broke down and they were waiting on parts from Oahu and a repair guy from Oahu, and have not been able to unload the containers for a while now. I told her that was not really a customer problem and that someone should have called the customers and let them know the issue... you know that thing you call "customer service". So she went and got the store manager... whom was pretty rude and said there was nothing she could do... I did not figure, as I did not even ask to speak with her. She did decide they would bring the three pieces they had in warehouse out in the next couple of days. She had the sales ladys husband load them up into the back of a dirty pickup truck and deliver them to me, the whole situation was very unprofessional. So here I am calling agin in December and January to find out where the rest of my couch is. Finally at the end of January they called and wanted to deliver that day, luckily I had family at the house and it was delivered. This is where the real fun begins... about a month into having my full couch. I called the store and asked why all the padding on the front and under the cushions (padding that was built into the frame) was moving around and pushing out the front? they did not know why and said that was not covered under warranty anyway so it is not their problem. I told them that there is an expectation of durability and this is not holding up to value. They told me that there was nothing they could or would do for me. Well, we figured out that they did not back their products one bit and figured we would just have to be stuck paying on (we financed the couch) this POS, until I find something else that worked for out space. I did contact them again about 6 months post delivery and spoke to them about the same issue, as it was getting worse and all the padding under the cushions were collapsing. They gave me the same story... not under warranty. Then a few months after that I sat down on one of the pieces and the frame broke on one side... I called the store and they transferred me three times until I got a lady who looked up my account and told me it had been just over a year and my warranty was only a year so they were not going to do anything. I decided to call corporate. Spoke to them and they had me write an email. So, then wrote an email to Ashley Corporate... a very long email. The next thing I know I am getting a phone call from the store manager... she is going to send out a couple of her repair guys and if it doesn't look like its been abused they will honor the warranty and bring me a new couch. I was excited they finally were going to fix the situation. They guys came out, said they were just the delivery guys.. that they dont have repair guys at the store. (hummm... she lied to me) I let them check out the couch. They said to me, my husband and one of our friends that the couch does not look to be abused and it should have not had any of these issues. They said they were going to go back and let the boss know that the couch needed to be replaced. I never received a call from the manager, so I called her a day later and she said her guys told her that the couch was trashed and that it was from abuse. I was then angry and told her she was a liar and I hung up the phone (before I said anything else...lol) I took a few days and decided I had spent enough time on this issue and that I would chalk it up to a learning experience! I still have the crappy couch, as I cannot take it to the dump until it is at least paid off. We did toss the broken piece finally. Hope this helps. read more

We bought our couch here and a coffee table. The couch was delivered as promised but the coffee table wasn't. They kept telling us "Oh, it will be in 3 months" - 3 months came and they said "Oh, the manufacturer was overwhelmed by the order so it will take another 3 months" and so on and so forth. And this was pre-covid. We asked for a refund and they tried to cheat us with the amount. very bad customer service. They didn't even apologize that they took the order for the coffee table when in fact, they cannot deliver. They really gave us a hard time with the refund and made us wait in the store to call some corporate people to see what can be done for us. Don't buy here. They just want you to give them your money. read more

Just wanted to give an update on our couch. The Container finally arrived in Maui on Feb 25th, but will sit at the dock until the 5th of March ??? Oh and then it is up to the warehouse manager as to when it will be picked up and off loaded. At this point we are told that it could take another 4-5 weeks before it is in their warehouse and ready to be delivered.. I would recommend this store never ever do a special order, unless you tell your customer it could take 4 months to receive your order because the container won't ship until its full and then you are at the mercy of the warehouse manager. I was also told that the manager of the store would get a hold of us, She left it to a store employee Lani to handle, Not that we blame her, she at least has tried to keep us informed of a situation that is beyond her control. We just think if you want to run a business you should have better ways to treat your customers. read more

She is very professional, prompt and great with her communication, super friendly and makes you feel cared for and like family. I purchased 3 pieces of furniture, one in which had a factory defect. I was put in contact with Tara and she handled everything with ease and kept me updated on expectations of the exchange. It is now December 20th, 2019 and we have not heard a word from them yet. We called them a few times and they do not even bother answering the phone, it goes straight to voice mail!
