THE HOME DEPOT SERVICE PLANT (Fuk the customer)

Went in on a Tuesday to "THE HOME DEPIT and saw the same salesperson who is a great guy (not mad at him at all). We say we are looking for a freezer. The salesperson finds one in stock and goes back to tag it for us. Comes back and we finalize the purchase with all the bells and whistles. (A microwave was purchased as well). DELIVERY was set for Thursday just two days away. Bought and paid for by me, no glitches in the system all was great. On DELIVERY day the salesperson calls and said he can't find the freezer. We told the salesperson the delivery company called and were on the way. The freezer never makes it to us. "SOMEONE ON THE MORNING OF DELIVERY CANCELLED MY PURCHASE AND LET SOMEONE WALK OUT WITH MY FREEZER." Well has to be a member of management that STOLE MY FREEZER AND SOLD IT (or who knows maybe the person was willing to pay more to the pocket of management). THE HOME DEPOT SHOULD BE REAL PROUD OF SUCH GREAT SERVICE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS FKN AHOLES

We needed plumbing fixtures for a kitchen and bath remodel, so we decided to walk in. Kalei greeted us and was happy to help us. She walked us through the store to look at the wide array of floor samples. She was very organized and listened to what we needed. Kalei emailed me a "wish list" based on the fixtures I liked. The wish list included the item information, prices, and full spec sheets. Kalei also researched and provided options for sinks, based on specs I gave her. Once I got home and further thought about it, I decided I wanted all brass faucets, so I emailed Kalei to ask if she could get specific brands. Kalei did not bat an eye. Her only concern was me being happy and getting exactly what I wanted. Thus began several weeks of Kalei giving me options and me making decisions. She was patient, helpful, and understood my preferred style every step of the way. When all was said and done, I had a wish list that had everything from a toilet to a beautiful kitchen faucet. Kalei was clear regarding what was in stock in their Maui warehouse and what had to be ordered. We ran into one challenge--the kitchen sink I selected was backordered by the manufacturer. There would be a 2.5 month wait before it could even ship. Kalei went above and beyond by checking with another warehouse, which had the sink! She was able to order the sink through them, rather than having me sit on a back order list. PBK has something for everyone. The customer service I received from Kalei was fantastic. I honestly would like to get rid of it entirely and get a normal john to save future headaches! To my surprise, he wasn't able to find this sleeve that bolts the toilet seat to the toilet. See what a headache this commode is? Another issue came up as we needed a replacement tub spout. I figured if plumbers shop here, this must be the best place to get it. Boy was I wrong. EXPERIENCE: The biz is located in a big warehouse in the Kahului Industrial park with adequate parking. It was far from what I expected. The first door I tried to open was locked and I guess was the office. The next door in line was a big open garage-like door which I thought was for staff only but it's the actual shopping area and their stock room. There are no displays or sales associates roaming the floors, just inventory. After finally locating the faucet section, it got even worse as not only was the selection limited, but everything was boxed with very little detail explaining what was inside. If you're looking for screws, nuts, bolts and everything in between, you'll be in mancave heaven. SERVICE: Like Napa stores, everyone is working behind the counter so you'd have to wait in line along with people purchasing items if you have a simple question. What a waste of time. OVERALL: I'm more of a Home Depot/Lowe's shopper where things are clearly on display with associates abound if you need any assistance. And as far as that tub faucet, I found just what I was looking for at Home Depot! Sorry, Fergie.

If our showroom rep had called us back as promised (or when she returned from vacation) with an update, this could've been resolved sooner. Roma could teach a Masterclass on customer service.

Background: There was an existing 35-year-old 'SolaHart' brand solar hot water heater on my Oahu…read morehome roof and it worked perfectly although it was older. Then I noticed it was slowly leaking. My trusted plumber had a look and it was the solar unit leaking and not the plumbing. It needed to be replaced. A split solar hot water heater would be $12k to 14k. Sun King: So a google search told me that Maui based 'Sun King' was the 'SolaHart' company in Hawaii. I gave them a call. They even had the records on the old unit. A new replacement SolaHart unit would be about $9k installed. So I received a quote and all the information about payment, installation scheduling, coordination with my roofing company as the roof needed replacement first. Like any solar system there is a time delay in installation due to ordering and scheduling. It is not like replacing a standard home hot water heater. But it's leaking now: Well these guys deal with this all the time. So they sent over Paul to assess the situation first hand and install a temporary electric hot water heater and disconnect the leaking unit. That didn't work out, but everything else was planned out and installation scheduled for about a month later after the roof was completed. The catch was that there would be no hot water for about a week while the roof work was ongoing. The old unit would have to be removed while the roof was replaced...so no hot water. Anyway eventually Paul and his experienced crew of plumbers, electricians and installers found a way to hook up and wire the temporary heater. It saved us from a week of cold showers. Yes!!! Satisfaction: 5 Stars. While home repairs, remodeling, renovation, on older homes don't always go smoothly. Everything worked out in the end. Bumps in the road may happen but it is their ability to deal with imperfect situations that are the key. Personally, I favor the simple SolaHart type of passive system (vs. the split system) because of the price and reliability. Remember the first one lasted 35 years. Google SolaHart for information. It was bolted securely to the wood rafters. Maui Headquarters and Tax credits: Despite being headquartered on Maui they do travel to other islands. They had their own crew and truck plus 2 other trucks showed up. Somehow they had the ability to provide full services on Oahu. The office also assisted in providing information on tax credits. Very helpful because this clearly lowers the actual cost. Lyn from the front office, Paul, and each and every technician that I encountered was professional and pleasant.

My wife and I own a condo in Ma 'alaea. Our large (4' X 9') bedroom 3-pane window was the original…read moredeveloper installed window. As you can imagine, the 1970's developer did not choose the most premium windows to include in their project and over 50 years of sea air and wind have done a number on them--time to replace. We went to Pacific Source for a modern replacement. They are a Fleetwood Windows dealer. Fleetwood makes one of the best Class 1 anodized aluminum windows on the market--just what we needed for a coastal application. We had the help of both Gabe on the mainland and Logan on Maui to make our project a success. Gabe helped with the pricing and designing (all Fleetwood Windows are custom made). Logan met with our contractor at the job site to take detail measurements so the windows were manufactured properly; fit in our opening; and, were compatible with our interior louvered window shades. We ordered the windows in November. We wanted to install the following April. We were under no illusions. The pandemic & its problems, shipping log jams and supply chain issues were all working against us. However, Pacific Source & Fleetwood were able "get 'er done" and deliver the goods to Maui by the end of March, about 3 weeks prior to our contracted installation date. Our contractor did a yeoman's job of installing the new windows; patching the stucco wall; and, reinstalling our interior louvered shutters. Thanks to Pacific Source, Gabe & Logan, and our contractor, we are now the envy of our condo project. We would use Pacific Source again without reservations. Give them a try!

This order was placed at the end of September, with them giving our contractor the understanding that, give or take, the lead time was about 12 weeks. Now, after an incident on their end, one of the doors is delayed until end of January and the other doors are said to arrive mid January. While I understand that incidents happen, I find their unapologetic lack of accommodation and subpar customer support truly disconcerting. Will we get our doors in by the end of January.. who knows, after spending so much money with this company, I sure hope their product is worth the wait. Their prices aren't competitive, their communication on lead time is wrong, their customer service and support are lacking in a huge way, naturally I am worried about the product now, too.
