That was a bargain! However, looking through the store, as I remember from last time, everything is pretty pricey. There was a used tablecloth (was the same mud cloth table covering from Mama's Fish House) and they wanted $12 for it. I would have spent $4 for the fabric, but not $12. I went to the markdown rack and I pulled out a dress and it was marked down half from $300. They had lovely things, but I don't shop for high end clothing. If you like expense things that you can get a bit cheaper, then this is the place for you. The clerk was very sweet. And I am happy with my dress!! I'm sure when we are in Kihei in the future I'll still stop by there. Who knows I might find another bargain!

When you enter you might want to turn around and leave when you see all the racks with boxes but continue on. The craft area is loaded with all kinds of fabric, beads, stamps and more. There is also a large kids area that is well organized. I ran out of time but the adult clothing was downstairs with much of it $1. Lots to see and purchase at great prices. My only contacts with staff was in the craft area (enjoyed talking to her) and the checkout lady. Both very friendly and helpful. Lots of parking. Well worth the time.

My most recent purchase there was a floor lamp with ceramic pole. I had to replace the lamp socket on it but still a good deal. That's probably why it was donated. Anyway, they usually have a good assortment of light fixtures, tables, chairs and small appliances. The sort of stuff that people upgrade from time to time. They also are a good source of building materials that are left over from jobs the contractors finish. It's hit or miss whether you find the type or quantity of materials you need, but it's still a good place to check if you're about to start a project. We were there recently, to drop off a couple boxes of floor tile and some used copper tubing. I hope someone can use it. There's a small parking lot beside the building. Be really careful there because you might not have much time to react when someone backs out without looking. I had to use my horn, first time in years!

The move to the new location (reportedly cause the old location and the auditorium above it will be…read moredemolished) has brought good and bad. Good means that there is more room to move around. Your not having people trying to squeeze behind you or fighting for space cause there is 15 women fighting over the kids clothes while all you want to get to is the last three piles of mens clothing and it's right beside the kids clothes. This is a big improvement. The move to the new location unfortunately took away one of the best things about this thrift store that was never replicated at other places: Early Morning Cheap Junk for Pennies on the Dollar. Now, given the surrounding area, Upcountry is Farm/Ranch Land, and these areas means that there is a garage or barn or shed with old junk in it. And once in a while, people will clean it out, and sometimes will "unceremoniously" dump it at St Joseph. The ladies there would have to sort out the good from the bad, and I guess to maximize the effort, would price anything that was sellable outside before the place opened at 8AM. And it was a real crapshoot and a surprise what got donated. Sometimes, you'd find a great deal, other times you'd find something fixable,or broken items that you could utilize for other uses. Depending on what was there, I would walk off with anywhere from $1.00 to $40 of stuff before the doors opened. I guess now with the move, they can't continue with this practice, and anything that could be saved even though it's junk is sent straight to the dumpster. Mixed on this.

I was told that the store credit on my card "expires after one year," even though I was never informed of that policy before. The card itself has no expiration date printed anywhere, and I've even used this same card earlier this year with no problem. Today, they told me the remaining $50 of my store credit was no longer valid. They refused to honor it, which means I basically lost $50 for no reason other than a policy they never communicated. When I explained that no one had ever mentioned an expiration policy, they simply repeated that it was expired. If a business is going to enforce expiration dates on store credit, that needs to be clearly stated, written on the card, and consistent. Instead, this was handled poorly and felt unfair -- especially for someone who has consigned items with them regularly. I left feeling very disappointed, and unfortunately I won't be returning

The whole store is overpriced for what you call a "THRIFT" store. I also experienced the rudest lady that worked there. She was tall and blonde. I had brought in clothes that were ALL branded and in perfect condition. She took a look at my clothes and gave me such a ridiculous price. She offered me $11 and took like 6 items out of the full bag of stuff I had brought and most items she took were were Brandy Melville, Princess Polly, Garage, and Lululemon. Super ridiculous price compared to what they sell it for. Honestly you guys can check it out, but you will be disappointed for sure.
