Heck, if I could give them a negative 5 star I would. Special Education services, just enough to shut you up for the time. Staff regarding Special Education, perhaps they themselves need a better education. I have read a previous post, I too have either emailed, called or met directly with the two women mentioned, thought one of them may actually have a care regarding our children, their students, but as this year starts out, the entire district is out for themselves. Unfortunately not everyone can afford a private education for their child, especially when it comes to Special Education and/or specialized services (due to our child's medical needs), but this district makes sure to include it in the students IEP, yet for some reason it never comes to fruition, in fact some of the staff members have taken it upon themselves to use some of the equipment specifically ordered for the student and then give the student some old piece of equipment, and quickly swap it back when found out. They are sneaky, under handed, cold, cruel, etc. As pointed out, only when the media gets involved or the police are called do they actually move faster than a slug to try to cover their behinds. Great place to work if you want to get paid, but not really work. As for the students, horrible place to be, but where else can they go. I will certainly side with a student long before I ever side with some staff member (teacher, counselor, psychologist, etc.). We all have our own personal experiences with the AUSD, some good, some bad, per my son his experience is the worse ever. AUSD thinks all issues with Spec. Ed. students relates to or stems from behavioral "problems", my son's experience (abuse also mentally and physically and noted with the district on several occasions) has now led him to anxiety and panic attacks. I guess I should thank them for something, thanks for making his life even worse when school should have been one of the best experiences of any child's life. read more
