When I ask them if they are going to pay for my sons bills they dance around it by saying we cannot give you information about the other student, that student was at school the very next day. Education begins at home and thrives at a good school. HRS is that school. The school is not a joke and name calling the staff and instructors shows a lack of maturity. Bullying is an issue in all schools. Teaching kids to speak up for themselves and having the forthright to speak with parents directly is what will help solve this issue. Don't expect the school environment to be your personal baby sitter or hand holder. Life isn't fair and only one can solve their own problems.

His friends who attend other schools are getting C's and saying the work is too hard to get an A. My son was taught the fundamentals that started with John Muir. My daughter is a 4.0 student. She reads 1 hour per day, every day. She also plays the piano for 50 minutes every day. My wife at times will help with the class. I find teachers want to come to teach at John Muir leaving their teaching jobs from such areas as Concord and Danville. This says a lot in my book. Most of the teachers do not put up with disturbance from the child. Some parents do not like this because they want babysitters, not teachers. I see some parents going through the motions like they are involved, but they are more involved with Facebook and talking gossip. I must admit, I too sometime get drawn in, but I stop it when my children are invovled. John Muir and the staff are among the best you will ever find. If you want them to challenge your child so that he may be ready for college, they will. If you want them to babysit, well, maybe this school is not for you.

A lack of homework, consistent education, report card or progress reports. My child also lost his music teacher in fall with no replacements and just lost hope. Nobody took over. I messages the principal and was met with excused and lack of response. When I raised concern for lack of proper education and who would fill the gap the principal didn't even respond. My child was disappointed with the lack of education, support. And an ability for a sub to provide structure. My child is excited to leave this school and get proper education elsewhere. We still due to great planning of the school have a small class, where prince has a blast. He's brought home fun projects to do as a family every once in a while.
