My wife and I bought a house in Danville and set out to transform it with a 100% remodel into a Contemporary Farmhouse. The focal point of the exterior was to be a large steel pivot door with opaque glass within the door and sidelights on either side. Our contractor sent us to Antigua Doors to meet with the owner Clay Ramsey. Over the course of several months we worked with Clay and his assistant Beth to get just the right look. They were both incredibly helpful, patient and more than generous with their time in educating us about the in and outs of pivot doors. Approximately 1 year after ordering (No delays on Antigua's part) the expert of all expert installers, Arturo and his assistants came to install the door. With the precision of surgeons, they installed the door and sidelights in one full day. The door is so finely balanced, that it moves with just one finger but when it shuts.... it's like Ft. Knox SOLID. The end result... it's absolutely, positively stunning! We have had numerous people stop by to see the house but they all typically focus on the front door, above anything else. I LOVE our new front door - the pictures don't do it justice as it looks so amazing in person. At other door companies, We had researched wooden doors which were expensive and required regular maintenance. We researched Fiberglass doors and found them to be expensive and with no ability to customize. After a level of frustration I called Antigua Doors to see if there was anyway I could afford a door from a company in Danville. OMG - I can't tell you how excited I was after talking with Clay. I have never written a Yelp review but the outstanding service from Antigua Doors deserves to be recognized. We designed our iron door with Clay's help a couple of years ago. In September of this year, we noticed the finish starting to crack and peel along one side. I called Clay and left a message. He returned my call the next day and we set a time to have Arturo come out to take a look. Upon inspection, Arturo decided he would need to remove the entire double door, take it back to the warehouse, and refinish it. (!) Arturo helped to seal up the front entrance of my home, promising to return the door the next day by 12pm. True to his word, he was back with a brand-new looking iron door by 12pm the following day! We had been referred to Antigua doors from an outfit that had made custom garage doors for our home. Our hope to design a front entry door / skylights that would match the style and stain of what had been create for the garage. We had visited a number of the big box stores as well as other custom door shops. However, when we found Antigua, it was clear from the start that they made some pretty special stuff. Clay was so easy to work with. He had a wealth of info and took great lengths to answer all of our many questions with detailed insights or by providing examples in his shop. He worked with us to design a custom door that we felt matched perfectly. He visited our home to inspect the existing garage door finish and helped us choose what would be the most spot on match. From there, Arturo came out to take precise measurements which Clay then translated into a detailed spec and drawings for us to look at and either fine tune or green light. Once our door was built, Arturo returned to provide an installation. I had no idea just how comprehensive this would be.
