It is expensive than other cafes for sure but I feel like their prices are justified by its historical charm. Their service is top notch and it is located in a very upscale touristy neighborhood. Therefore, the history of this place is very cool and interesting. However, the prices are wildly overpriced and there was a lack of mouthwatering pastries to choose from which was underwhelming. I think we paid 15 euros for 2 espressos which is absolute insanity! We were used to paying 1-2.50 for espressos so this place seemed to have a bit of price gauging going on since they're historic. Walking distance from the Spanish Steps is this storied caffe. Our timing was perfect and we were able to experience Apertivo hour. Think of it as Italian happy hour but much more. For those who knows me, I have a crazy sweet tooth. I'm so ELATED to find a cafe with incredibly delicious cakes and pastries. This cafe is very close to the Spanish Steps. We came here twice during our 3 days visit in Rome. They have seating and standing options. I would not recommend the seating option because the prices are three times more than the standing option and also service was slow. Order their PISTACHIO CAKE and the PISTACHIO CANNOLI. You absolutely cannot get this anywhere in Canada. We ordered a whole bunch of random pastries and everything were delectable! No complaints with the food. Cakes were moist and not overly sweet. So, if you need a break from walking, order at the cashier and bring your receipt to the bar, where they make your drinks. If you like cappuccino, you can even get it cold. Happy Eating! read more

The seating area is very pretty, from the outside looking in, but from what I understand, there is an upcharge for dining in. We stayed by the bar as we were on our way to an afternoon tour. We stopped by Antico Caffe Greco for the novelty of the establishment. We arrived late in the night and there was a line. The waiting area is a bit awkward because you will just have to line up and wait inside the shop when you enter. Our wait in line was about 30 minutes until a table opened up for us. The service was terrible... we had to flag down someone on staff to order since no one attended to us. When we placed our order, a few different items we tried to order were out of stock for the night. Within our party of 4, we each picked a different pastry and drink, all of which were overpriced (everything at the cafe is pricey though). I can't say anything really stood out, nothing was terrible but then again also nothing was special. It's a cool place to check out but I think it's best as a one time thing. read more

Waaay over priced espressos and lattes. By the way, in Italy... a "Latte" is still just a macchiato with slightly more milk. So don't expect a medium Starbucks sized cup of latte. This shop is "high end" in the middle of all the expensive designer shops. I didn't know and went based on Yelp reviews. I lost. Save yourself some money and find another cafe to visit. Stopped here to get out of the heat after walking around Rome. The ambiance is lovely: historic, clean and full of character. Waitstaff are dressed in full coat tails making it feel very upscale and sophisticated. Booths are velour lined and small round marble tables set out for guests to sit at. Service was a bit slow and the wait staff was not overly friendly. But that could just be my perception of it. My biggest gripe is that it is extremely overpriced for coffee, cocktails and desserts. We came in for a cup of coffee and two pastries. I ordered a cappuccino and after I was done ordering they proceeded to tell me that I had to order on the other side. Why couldn't they just tell me that from the beginning? I ordered for here thinking that would mean we would be able to sit. They told us AFTER ordering that I cannot sit with my coffee and pastries, and that there is an extra charge to eat/drink at a table. Why tell us that AFTER we order for here? We told them this is fine, but then the barista ripped the coffee out of my hands before I could even take a sip. The waiter took the two pastries out of my husband's hands as well. We then proceeded to wait another 15 minutes for them to bring our pastries and coffee a total of three steps to our table. This ended up costing an EXTRA 17.50 on top of the 16.50 we paid for the coffee and pastries in the beginning. The lack of transparency was astonishing. For a lack luster coffee and pastries, not worth it at all. Appalling communication, appalling service, and appalling attitudes. Do NOT eat here. read more

You seat yourself at any table, and wait for a server to bring your menu and take your order. The service is not very speedy, but it is fine if you are not in a rush. We ordered a soy latte and an alcoholic coffee drink with a prosciutto sandwich. The first time I had the soy latte, it was fantastic, but the second visit it wasn't as great.
