Since we only stayed for one night (one of the only hotels that would allow a single night stay), I very much liked the location. If I were staying for an extended period of time in Rome, I wouldn't want to be in the middle of "tourist central". There were elevators, very small, but still available if you did not want to/couldn't take stairs. There was a small bar in the hotel where we enjoyed aperitivo. Breakfast was included and had a nice spread: hot beverages, juice (including fresh squeezed orange), pastries, toast, beans, sausage, bacon, eggs, meats & cheeses, cereal, yogurt.

THE ROOMS HAVE A/C that works Only down side to it is if you're taller than 5'10 in our case, the roof was kind of short and so was the shower head. So any person taller than that might have trouble. Also someone walked in our room with a key so they need to make sure they don't give keys out to the same room to multiple people. And the beds were two twin size beds placed together so just fyi for couples. But over all the experience was pretty good for us so for us it was a 10!

We were greeted by the friendliest staff who checked us in quickly and helped us to our rooms. We got a good nights rest and had a delicious breakfast in the restaurant the next morning. We stayed 3 nights and every part of our experience here was fantastic. The rooms have just enough modern touches to keep us comfortable but so charming and authentic. I would highly recommend this hidden gem in the heart of Rome!

They have a small bar and reception area and main reception like Lorenzo did it all...from checking you in to fixing your drinks. He was wonderful and made our stay enjoyable. They do not offer included meals but we stayed in one of the family rooms and got a kitchenette. The price was higher than here in the states but it does offer a small pool (swim caps required). There is no lighting around the pool which could be a very easy fix for the property to do. Also many mosquitoes around and inside the property and again a quick fix by having mosquito repellent but I didn't see that the property had any so take bug spray. It was very hot and the AC was inadequate and the property had no fans in the room or to offer guests. Again another quick fix they could do. It had nice grounds and our room was adequate minus the mosquitoes and the AC.

They have lots of shade with the large umbrellas and there are many fans as well. drinks come with delicious olives/roasted pistachios/chips apps. Hotel personnel were professional and helpful enough, our bed was comfortable, and the room had a garden view and was equipped with a flat-screen TV. But almost $1,000 per night for a double bed with cramped, slow elevators; a bar that was not even open at 10:00 p.m. on a Friday night; no swimming pool, no whirlpool, and no spa; and a place that had run out of electrical adapters so couldn't provide one the first night but did the second; and wanted 9 Euros (about $13.50) for a small can of Coca-Cola from the room minibar when I was able to secure a larger bottle of Coke from a food van a quarter-block away at the top of the Spanish Steps for just 3 Euros? C'mon! All the European charm and Elemis bath products in the world can't close that wide a gap in money's worth!

However, it is quietly nestled in a beautiful little neighborhood. It is very quiet and quaint. Upon arrival we were greeted with the welcoming staff and escorted into the ruins beyond the lobby where we were brought a lovely tiramisu welcome treat to enjoy while taking in the ruins. The room is impressively large with a huge bathroom. We had a plush king sized bed with cozy down bedding. The thick beautiful curtains ensured that the room was perfectly dark for great sleep even if we wanted a mid day nap. There was a lovely little balcony with a view of the courtyard. With the curtains open the natural light is perfect. The bed was comfortable and we Sisto very nicely here. The bathroom is very big with a walk in shower and bidet with all toiletries needed to have a comfortable stay. I will say I was a bit bummed that the tile warmer was not functional but the hotel was very kind offering anything to make sure that we were happy. This was not a problem and we stayed in this room as warming towels us a perk but not a requirement. I would also note that the building is quite old and the bathroom had a metallic smell perhaps from the pipes of older plumbing but it was fine as long as we kept the bathroom door closed. I think the hotel was really concerned that we were upset but we absolutely were not just keep in mind this building is antique and if you are coming from the US where everything is new and not used to a potential aroma of antiquity be prepared to experience a true European city and do not complain. All details are thought of here including mini bar, clothes steamer, hair dryer, toiletries and a welcome gift. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They are always ensuring that we were comfortable and happy. We absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel is a special place and experience. The nostalgia of standing and staying where the Romans once stood 2000 years ago was definitely a treat! The hotel has a rooftop terrace where we enjoyed breakfast in the mornings and wine in the evening. The lounge just inside of the terrace is cozy and comfortable to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail in the evening and there's a cozy fireplace to warm up, which we took full advantage of after a long wet rainy day in the colosseum and Roman forum. We had a great stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special Roman experience. We will definitely be back!
